I love the ornaments made by my children. You know I have four daughters. They are grown now.
These are some of the ornaments they have made through the years. I actually think Karen and Kathy are the only ones who did needle pointe .
It's been many years that these have been on our Christmas tree. Just one year I did a big Victorian tree...none of my children's ornaments were on that tree. What a sad tree that was.
After I did that Victorian tree ...I gave the tree to one daughter and never decorated without all these handmade ornaments again. This is one you can make with your children. Write their name with glue and sprinkle on some glitter.
This little skier was a kit Karen got for Christmas one year. When the girls married and left home, they took some ornaments with them. Some I just had to keep. I'll show more photos later, of the things they have made .
Yesterday it rained on and off most the day. Today is a gray , damp and chilly day. Even though our temperatures are higher than normal for this time of year. By the weekend it will be December temperatures again. But no snow is in our forecast.
Wishing all a great day. Prayers and good wishes for all our dear friends in need. XO
Those ornaments are so special, aren't they! I was just looking at one that our granddaughter made for us when she was very little. SO cute. She would laugh at it now, but it means a lot to us. Have a wonderful last week before Christmas. xo
ReplyDeleteJudy, Even if the ornament looks a bit sad...we love them so much. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWell as you know I don't have children but I do have a whole box of handmade ornaments. They are from friends. And I have four homemade angels made out of clothes pins and tulle that I put on our tree every year. I also have a very special ornament that mom gave me that used to be her parents. Very special memories. I'm becoming nostalgic just writing this.

ReplyDeleteOh Susie, I really loved this post today because homemade ornaments that my children made are so special to me. I still have a bunch of them. The Karen ornament with the red glitter is so pretty, I really like that one. And the needle point LOVE is special, indeed. I know what you mean.......a tree is even more special with ornaments that are lovingly made by our children. I can't wait to see more of the precious things your kids made, Susie.

DeleteHi Susie, I enjoyed seeing the darling ornaments made by your children when they were growing up. Such special keepsakes and these are the treasures that make a tree perfect.

ReplyDeleteYes, JoAnn, there's so much love associated with these ornaments. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI have a collection of special ornaments and I love pausing by the tree to gaze and remember!!
ReplyDeleteLinda, You sound like me...there's been times if I look at them too long and remember too hard..I will cry. So I try to not go there. But oh boy if I could twitch my nose and my girls be small again and with me..oh I would. Blessings, love you, Susie
DeleteThose are wonderful mementos. I don't blame you for keeping some. My decorations are minimal.
ReplyDeleteBoston Boy, you needed a house full of kids to make ornaments. LOL. Do you ever see ones that take you back to your parents home?? When ever I see those big old fashioned lights...OMG, I think of my mom .. A man gave her a bunch of lights to hang outside..We were all excited. Mom put those lights out every year. She had bought a baby Jesus at a yard sale . Then she had a Santa and Noth Pole sign that came together. She would put that baby Jesus between the sign and Santa and I would say "Well it's officially the Christmas season now. " LOL... Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteThese are all adorable. I especially like the cross stitched ones. Take care and have a fabulous Friday!
