Last year Emma was here and we made some homemade gifts. She cut these snowmen from felt, glued them to magnet strips. Put their buttons and faces on with a marker. Glued a orange felt piece and black hat...they were ready to go. Cute on the fridge.
Then we bought some animal print fleece and made some scarves.
Emma did a great job on these. You just cut the length you want and cut some fringe on the ends. We gave her mom one and her aunt Angie one for her birthday. Of course Emma had one to wear herself. These are very nice gifts that the kids can make and anyone can wear. You may want a plaid for the fellows in your life.
The sun did shine today, not all day but this afternoon. Hope your day was good. XO
Both of these gifts are great ideas. I'll pass these ideas along to my sis for her granddaughters. It is raining in GA all day today. Stay safe tonight.
ReplyDeleteMildred, I just love crafting with my granddaughters. Emma used to love making things...now she seems more into her electronics. Sad. I miss her wanting to stay all night . I guess she is growing up. We are to get a rain and snow mix tomorrow. Yuck. Blessings to you and your hubby, xoxo,Susie
DeleteCrafting with her is making memories that will last you both forever....
ReplyDeleteLovely post.
Hugs,
Jackie
Jackie, I hope there will come a day when Emma (age 11 now) will be doing crafts with her children or grandchildren and she will recall our times together . I sure miss our time. I'll have to see if she can come over. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWe have had rain for the past three days! No sunshine here today! The rainfall deficit has been covered, and now we are in the over average category! You are good with crafts. I am like I have all thumbs! xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteNellie, the weatherman showed a big swirly snow mess over the Dakotas coming our way. I am not looking forward to that. The way you bake is your art Nellie..so you are not all thumbs .LOL Bless your heart, xoxo,Susie
DeleteThese are darling little ornaments and so is Miss Emma! Love her in the leopard print! Homemade ornaments are the best! :)
ReplyDeleteHope all is well with you. I sure appreciate your comments, you make me smile and feel like blogging is so worth it, even when I'm tired and under the weather.
Happy Holidays, kiddo!
Jane x
Blondie, I hope you are feeling better. Some times after holidays we can get sick. My daughter Karen isn't feeling well this week either. Everyone has to get well for the next celebration coming up shortly. wow, I can't believe how close it is. I love reading your blog.:):) Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteAw, this makes me want grandchildren to do crafts with!
ReplyDeleteJo(e), You know you love your children...well you are going to love your grands just as much. As your family grows , so will your love. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteIsn't it so much fun to make ornaments (or any project) with your grandchildren? Such special memories! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteCindy, I love making things with my grands, or talking about their interests. I hope it helps to make beautiful memories for them to pass on to their children. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteThose are both good ideas, Susie. It is always fun for kids to be able to make gifts for parents and teachers, etc. Looks like Emma had a lot of fun doing that. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteDiana, I think those scarves would be good for teacher gifts. Emma would make a craft and want to keep one for herself always. I loved that. I miss my girl being here as much as she once was. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHandmade is the best!!! What are ya'll going to do this year? I am going to spend one night next week with Rayne and we are going to do a Christmas project!
ReplyDeleteYour little Emma is sure growing up, isn't she? And this was LAST year's pic!!
Linda, I have been wanting my two youngest grandgirls to help me paint and glitter pine cones, to use for Christmas decorations. I have to get a photo of the girls with me...I am starting to look so little next to them...that's how much they have grown. Blessings, love you, Susie
DeleteHow cute is Emma, Susie. Love the snowmen and I bet her scarves were a big hit..Happy Tuesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteJudy, I wish my Emma could come over more often. She's into her friends and school stuff now..Savannah has been for a few years now...they grow too fast. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSuch cute ideas - and cute granddaughter
ReplyDeleteThank you JoAnn. I know my Savannah would love to sew with you. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHandmade gifts that you will have for many years, and pull out years from now and will put a smile on your face thinking of the time spent with Emma. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteAnn, I still adore the ornaments my girls made while growing up. Some things touch our hearts forever. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteIt sounds like a nice way to spend time with your grandkids.
ReplyDeleteSun? Sun? What's that? I have heard rumors about it though. Something about a glowing yellow sphere in the sky.
Boston Boy, that sunshine was a big tease...it's a rainy /snow mix right now, Noon time Wed. We are getting that stuff coming from the Dakotas. speaking of grandkids...tomoorow my granddaughter Lynzie will have her labor induced...hope the roads will be cleared..so I can go be there too. LOL. I saw Lynzie come into the world, it would be nice to be there for her baby too. She and her husband should be totally ready, they've worked on the nursery, and a pole barn full of kid stuff one needs these days.(kidding) My diaper bag was a grocery store sack. LOL... Two of those when I had the twins. I think it's funny. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
Deletep.s. do you have your snow shovel ready? I have mine by the door.
it's so much fun to make gifts with the kiddos. I try to teach them that a gift is from the heart and a homemade one is better than one from Walmart. Good Job Emma!
ReplyDeleteLinda, I think when a young child makes a handmade gift...it even means more to them. Remember the sweet smiles our children had as they brought something home from school for us. Those were always special moments to me. Emma loves making book marks too. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
Deletep.s. Hope you got to see your grandson.
Oh what good ideas. I really like the scarf idea a lot! Emma did an excellent job on those gifts.
ReplyDeleteThank you Vee. I just talked with Emma about her crafting. She's a very talented girl. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

DeleteThose felt snowmen are so darling, Susie. It's nice that you and Emma can do crafts once in awhile. I bet she loves that.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to tell you that no, I'm not from Canada. I am French Canadian on my mom's side, but born and raised in California.
I hope you are getting into the Christmas spirit, Susie. I sure am.
love, ~Sheri
Sheri, With the shooting in your state yesterday...you certainly were in my thoughts. I did not know if you lived near there or not..but I said prayers for you and your family. I have been decorating the house inside. Pretty much done outside. Blessings to you and yours, be safe. Love, Susie
DeleteNo Susie, I'm not close to that area at all. Thank you for your prayers, my dear. It's nice to know that you're thinking of me.
DeleteGreat ideas! I love the magnetic snowmen. :-))
ReplyDeleteThank you Judy. I miss my little crafting granddaughter being here. I did speak with her on the phone last night. I told her, "you are my girl"..and she said "you are my nana !" she makes me laugh too. Hope you are doing well. xoxo,Susie
