Family Time...

Yesterday we went to Liz 's for a visit. Ted helped Matt split wood and I helped Liz entertain the babies. Here I am holding Max and Layla.  These are Liz's grand children, my great grands. Max is almost always smiling and Layla needed a nap. She crawled up on my lap and fell asleep , then I laid her down on the sofa...she slept for about 30-40 minutes.  It was so good to be with them.  They grow so quickly .

Speaking of growing...We salvaged this playset for Emma , when she was 7 years old, she is twelve now. Liz decided to save it , in case of grandkids. So glad she did.  Emma used that fort lots. I miss her wanting to play there. When she came home from school, she brought a friend and they were curling each other's hair when we left to come home. :):)
I always love to look at this well kept barn. There's  this barn and a couple of smaller outbuildings, but no home on this nice property. The sky was pretty again. It did rain in the evening and many floods in  Indianapolis  neighborhoods last night.
Today is End Of Summer Days  festival  in my daughter's town. We were asked to attend with my daughter Karen's family...but I knew I did not want to walk that much , it's humid and possiblility of rain.
Hope all of you enjoy your weekend. XO

  2. That red barn is so charming, Susie. No one lives there, so I wonder how it stays in good condition? The End of the Summer Days festival sounds fun. Too bad you couldn't go, but I know what you mean about walking.......I can only walk so much, then my feet start to hurt. :)

    Have a restful weekend, Susie.

    1. Sheri, The people who own the barn and property surely live near by...for it seems to have been painted not so long ago. Thank you for the compliment...when I left Liz's yesterday, Sheri, I felt wore out. LOL. I think if I could lose about 25 pounds my feet would not suffer as much. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie

  3. True! You do not look as if you could possibly be anyone's great-grandmother, but since you are, these two are some real cutie pies. That barn is a corker! Always nice to see a sturdy, attractive barn.

  8. Susie, you must have married at a very young age to have great grands and look so young! They are beautiful kids. That's really sweet about the fort, too for the kids to keep on using it. That barn is pretty, but why would anybody have a barn and not live on the property, I wonder.

    1. Nonnie, I did get married very young. But I am getting old .LOL. Emma played on that playset so much. Her mommy was going thru chemo for breast cancer at that time and Emma needed to feel special..so we knew she need that playset. It did help her. I don't know where the house from that little farm went ..LOL They still keep that place up. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  9. Loved seeing you with the grands!!!
Yes, it's kind of bittersweet when the kids start outgrowing things. Childhood doesn't last as long as we wish it would!
Wonder where the barn owners live??

    1. Tete, I could feel the humidity coming back in. I just can't believe how hot this summer has been, the crazy amounts of rain when it does come, and so much fog this year. Have you even gotten to sit out on your enclosed deck? I thought of you when I took a picture of some corn here, since you have corn crops , it was turning. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  12. What a sweet picture of you holding your great grandchildren. They have such beautiful little faces....so angelic!

I wonder what the "P" on the barn roof stands for. Maybe it is for "Pristine." It is a lovely well kept barn.
