Ho Hum....

Yesterday was a good old ho hum day. No deadlines, no doctor or dental  appointments, and no grocery shopping. Nothing but what we wanted to do. So Ted worked in the shop and I cleaned house. (you know like I wanted to do that.)LOL
Ted rebuilt the sunflower seed feeder for the birds. I sorted and cleaned  kitchen drawers....and actually found  the set of  keys I had spent a week  trying to find. Happy about that.
I watered my plants, gee they are looking a bit scraggly. I tied this one with some twine. LOL
The sedum looks nice and nothing was on it yesterday. Now I wonder why not.
Late in the evening , we took a drive around a couple country blocks.  This is our shop/garage.  It was too cloudy to get sunset photos . I did not get to see the full moon till this morning .
It was nice to relax a bit yesterday. Today will be more sorting and hopefully bagging up things to give away. Soon I will be passing my tools over to my grandson , Skylar.  That's the set of keys I found. They were for my tool cart and Kennedy toolbox.  I plan on doing a post on Labor Day about the career I had before retiring.
Wishing all a sweet Friday, enjoy the weekend. XO

  3. Sounds like a nice day. I have been busy cleaning freezers out since we have 2 pigs and a cow being butchered. Time to eliminate the old stuff.

  5. Those are the very best kind of days! I was reading in my journal from 2015 and discovered that LD and I took 3 weeks 'off' last August to piddle around and do things without an agenda. Looks like that is happening this August as well.
I am looking forward to hearing about your life before retirement!

Going thru clothes has been hard for years...but all of a sudden I am ready to let go of stuff. It's feels really good...since I can see the floor in my closet. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Vee, The tools I had in my career are no longer needed by me. My grandson is growing into a hard working young man and he will appreciate them. Boy we can gather a ton of things we never will need or use or wear....I've been cleaning closets and donating.:) Blessings to you hope you are doing well. xoxo, Susie

    1. Cindy, This has been one hot summer and it's hard to enjoy it at times. That was a scary wall cloud and all those little funnel things dipping here and there...spooky. Cindy, I have been cleaning and it's finally click in to just let things go...to unload and get out from under the weight of "things". Well you must know....since you just moved a couple years ago. Hope your Shug is back to himself and you are doing well. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  13. I love your garden, Susie, and days like these. I've been sick as a dog and I hate summer colds. The weather is getting cooler and I want to plant some perennials...I have to get moving.

    1. Blondie, I am so sorry you do not feel well...Colds are bad enough in winter, but worse in summer. Hope you are feeling well soon. Yesterday evening it was 74 degrees and so pleasant. I wish every summer day could be like that. We have a threat of raining again. Hoping and praying not on Wed. as I re-scheduled the bugman for them from last Wed. I dreamt of those ant last night for crying out loud. LOL.I'll be demented by the time this is over. Blessings sweet girl, xoxo, Susie

  14. It seems everyone (me included) are going through things and letting things go. I just see myself getting older and not needing so much. I love your garden. Mine is green, but the heat has killed just about all the flowers.

    1. Kathy, I am wondering why I held onto so much for so long....I think for the very reason I bought so much...from being a poor child growing up and not having much. Yes, tending to flowers is work now...too much sun not enough rain ...or too much rain and not enough sun. LOL Blessings to you and Joe, xoxo, Susie

    1. I wish it were "my" shop Bonnie. I am lucky to squeeze in there some times. I do have a wall for hanging things and spot for my car...but Ted has totally taken over with his tools and wood working equipment. I do not even have the shed...he trades out his generator, lawn mower and log splitter from the shed to the lean to on the shop. The golf cart and trailer stay in the lean to. We are to make me a shed soon. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
