Out For A Drive....

On Monday Ted and I took a ride around town. This is silos of one of the big farms north of town.
Drove by the Credit Union to get a shot of the pretty trees along the sidewalks.
Went out by the golf course. This is the club house.
A lap around the park.  It was calm and peaceful.
Back thru town, for a quick shot of the courthouse. It was such a beautiful day.
Then to our favorite spot at D.Q. for a treat.  It will be our only treat this week.
So I got myself a small vanilla cone.  LOL.  This ice cream cone sits on the counter and I have always thought it was attached.. Ha , I lifted it up for a fun picture. Ted and I were laughing so hard.:):)
Well we went to vote yesterday . Our voting place is the county highway garage...not a large spot at any time.   It was crowded and one or two coming in as one or two left. Only two voting machines.  It was taking people longer....some times a sign of split tickets. Even though it was gently raining, this was the biggest  turn out to vote that I have ever seen here. I am just so glad it 's over.  Now begins the week of rehashing...good grief.
Today will be a slow day here. The sun is shining.  Ted's  in  the shop , working on a few gifts.  I will be cleaning, sorting and doing some laundry.  Wishing all of you  peace. XO

  2. Oh Susie, that was a wonderful story about your Uncle Luke and the train. Even better that there is a fellow in your town that used to work with your uncle. The trees are still pretty with the oranges in your area. I saw some of our trees that had the orange leaves, and they are starting to reddish now. That's a funny picture of you with the big cone at Dairy Queen haha.

Have a nice day, Susie. Sometimes the slow days are the best days.

    1. Sheri, I miss my uncle Luke...he used to call all of us (when we were kids , he would call us boys. He chewed tobacco and was spitting all the time outside. LOL. He had curly dark hair and twinkling brown eyes with long lashes..my brother Tommy favors him.
I just thought a picture with that cone would be so fun...didn't know I would start laughing and about not stop. LOL I am loving our pretty days here...wish you some too. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie

  7. I am so glad this is behind us. I was up until all hours waiting for it to be called. WI was one of the hinge states at that point.

    1. Diana, I kept falling asleep and waking up for more news. I was stressed. I am glad the ads are over with...they were driving us crazy. I wish we could get a law passed that no one could just keep telling us how bad the other is...they should only tell us about what they will do for us. It's so stressful . Plus it only make people upset. I sure could use a couple licks of that cone now. LOL. Hope things are going better there. I know your plate is full. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie

  8. We were up until 4:30 this morning! It's going to be early to bed tonight!
Louis Dean and I have had the same sort of 'comfort' day you and Teddy had. LD worked outside in the storage buildings and I worked in the den. We did not watch news non stop but actually watched a couple of programs on our DVR.
We still haven't had cool enough weather for a fire in the den fireplace. I am so looking forward to our very first one! The first and last ones of the season are so special.
Blessings for you as you go to the dentist. I will be so glad for you when all that dental work is OVER!

    1. Linda, Some times we need those quiet days. :):) We watched movies too....did not want to hear all the rehashing...what's up with that anyways? We had a small twig fire Tuesday evening in the fireplace . I go to the dentist this noon...praying for some promise of anyone knowing what is going on. Today is Thursday and my brother has his surgery this morning. Please say a pray for him. Thank you. Love you guys, xoxo, Susie

  12. You still have some pretty color there...ours is nearly done, but we still have a beautiful oak out back. I am so glad the election is done...too much fighting and bickering, even amongst families.

    1. Linda, So many trees are stripped of their leaves , while some are still mostly green. I am glad that election's over ...it was hard on many of us. I do talk politics...so as not to offend anyone....so I vote for issues more than the person. Praying now for the next 4 years. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
