I had to take a photo of the pink clouds this morning. It's still cold here , even though the temperature is a bit higher that yesterday.
This is yesterday's sunset. It was a clear day Monday and the sunset was so pretty.
I love the red glow on things when the winter sun is setting. I can't get this snow off the porch because it is actually frozen.
You have to watch your footing right now.
I have a long shelf in the dining room, where I lean pictures of our town. Now I have photo Christmas cards leaning. Max , his mom and dad, along with Madison the dog.
My niece and her family.
More pictures of another niece and her family. Her son in the Santa hat when he was a baby.
Friends that live near Vegas and some angels.
It's cold out, you need a pot of soup. I made this beef, veggie and rice soup. We have had a couple bowls the past few days. Tomorrow is the winter solstice. ...let the count down to spring begin . LOL.
Here's the napkin holders Ted made for my sisters. I think they will like them. I have a few things to wrap today and I will be done. :):)
Wishing all a good day, stay warm. XO
Do you know I fell on ice every year we lived in Maine Susie? Be careful out there. Lovely pink clouds and sunset! Stay warm love!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, 30 years ago I fell on ice and broke my leg at the ankle. That was my 1st broken bone and I never want to do that again. I scoot my feet when it's icy out. I am thankful for the workers who have to be out in this cold weather....and go to work and do their jobs. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Deleteyes it was really cold! should be better today thank goodness. the napkin holders are jut beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ann. I think my sister will like the holders...it's good to keep paper napkins on the table...especially when you have grandkids. Stay warm there.. It's sunny all day here and so some of the ice has melted. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie, it is plain to see we enjoy the same things. The pink sky, the sunsets, that red glow (ours seems to cast more of an orange glow), and I made beef stew and cornbread yesterday. It's been very cold here, but no snow. Love those napkin holders.
ReplyDeleteNonnie, when I saw those pink clouds this morning...I was hurrying into my shoes and coat, my husband says , "be careful it's slick out there." I said , I have to hurry the sky changes so quickly....you know what I am talking about. I love beef stew with corn muffins. I can remember my MIL making beef stew and serving it with biscuits, while we watched the "Old Man And The Sea" , a really old movie..it was such a comfortable day for me and I have always remembered it.
DeleteI loved that lady like my own mother. Blessings, stay warm, xoxo, Susie

ReplyDeleteLinda, I love giving and getting handmade gifts. There's always something personal about it. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas. xoxo, Susie
DeleteSo pretty!!! I love your sky photos, they are always lovely! It was zero degrees when I woke this morning, according to my deck thermometer, and there was such a heavy frost on every teeny little branch it was like the world was dipped in glitter - gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI love when everything is wearing that fluffy frost. It is one of the pretty things about winter. We have to watch our footing when it's frosty here too. Today was a bit warmer and felt good. I did get out for a bit. Blessings to you, be safe , xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt was sunny here in Iowa today and in the 30s! That is a heat wave compared to what it has been. The sunset is very pretty in the Midwest. I enjoy watching it over a corn field. You have a nice looking family Susie, Take Care :)
ReplyDeleteKaren, It's hard to believe that 30 degrees would make us happy. But the bitter cold can do that to us. Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas. xoxo, Susie
DeleteStay warm and Happy Holidays to you and your family suzy!
ReplyDeleteThank you Japolina. I wish the same for you. Hope your boys are doing well...they grew up so quickly. Blessings my friend, xoxo, Susie
DeleteYou take such lovely photos Susie! I've been wanting to make some homemade soup for the longest time! Hopefully I can put that on my agenda soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Pilar, I hope you get you soup made. You can always freeze it in small serving sizes too. My husband loves soups and stews. That's good food for cold weather. Blessings to you. Hope you are ready for the holidays, xoxo, Susie
DeleteYou take such lovely photos Susie! I've been wanting to make some homemade soup for the longest time! Hopefully I can put that on my agenda soon!
ReplyDeleteYou captured the cold well! It looks very cold...definitely watch your feet walking just now. Should we walk like ducks or penguins on ice? I've heard both.
ReplyDeleteVee, When it's nasty out I walk like Tim Conway , when he was Carol Burnetts' boss. I just shuffle. It's saver than taking a chance of falling. I sure don't want to flop on my belly like those poor penguins, do you? LOL . Blessings, be safe, xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt's been a long time since I've seen that fleeting red glow that comes sometimes in a winter sunset. Your pictures are so good! I also love to line up family pictures in Christmas cards, and then I put them in Christmas albums. I made homemade vegetable soup today too! Nothing better, even when it's just cool, not cold, in FL.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Susie!
Dewena, I wish I had kept every picture Christmas card thru the years. I love having soups and stews on hand for instant meals. Especially during the holiday rush . Hope you have a great Christmas filled with love and family. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt's been snappy cold here! I walk carefully as well. The last thing you want is a fall on the ice. That soup looks like the perfect cold weather meal. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteHi Jenn, You will never see me running in the snow ever again...that's how I broke my leg once. Soup is so good to have ready for quick lunches. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI enjoyed your post, Susie, and your photo display. Stay warm and safe and enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteKaren, Hope you are warm...even tho the temps have gotten higher ...it's really not warm, by any means. The sunshine really helps. Blessings keep warm. xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh, those napkin holders that Ted made are very nice, Susie. And look at the pink skies, so beautiful. The glow of the sunset really does shine on your porch. That soup sure does look good, Susie. I love warm soups during the cold winter months. :)
ReplyDelete~Sheri
Sheri, I really like the napkin holders for my sisters. I think since they have grandkids they will like having them on the table ready. Isn't soup a good quick meal. Maybe a grilled cheese sandwich to go with a bowl of soup. Stay warm. Blessings, love you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteYour cold LOOKS pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteIt has been cold here! But it never stays cold long!
Linda, I was shocked when you said the day stated warm and turn off cold in the evening. That was a big drop in temperatures there. I am thankful the bitter temperatures here has eased up. Our Christmas day may be rainy beat ice and snow. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie
