School Christmas Party.....

It was party time before school lets out for the holidays. The halls have so many interesting decorations. Celebrating 200 years for the state of Indiana.
Lots of encouraging messages for the children.  Kids will learn many social skills in their daily school lives. Hopefully skills that help them throughout their lives.
The murals are just the best, showing the history of our state.
It's always very clean in the hallways. The class rooms are also.
My daughter Mrs. H...unwrapping some gifts from the children. Bless their hearts, they are all so excited for her . It's good to see the joy on the children's faces.  Some made homemade gifts and ornaments. One boy wrote a song and wrapped it. Some made special cards. The loving kindness touches your  heart.
This is the class lined up to perform for their parents and guest.
Each child recites a couple lines from ," Twas The Night Before Christmas " They do so well , it's fun to watch them .
This is some of the delicious  items the parents make and bring in for the party breakfast . It's casseroles, bacon, biscuits  fruits, muffins, and cinnamon rolls. There's milk and juice also.  This year it wasn't milk and cereal, as I have seen many times. I think most kids eat cereal for breakfast, so these types of food items are a treat. Less sugar. :):)
The very pretty and young mommies. They look too young to have a  child in the 5th grade. It is so sweet of them to make and help with the breakfast.
My daughter makes up a bag of goodies for the children. At this time of year, some can have chapped lips. She got them all some chapsticks. This young fellow traded with the girl next to him and realized the girls got a colored chapstick. I took this picture of him so he could see....he wiped some off and then said, "I am fabulous, so this will do. " You gotta love his attitude.  No one said mean things and he didn't seem upset...so all's well.  This is a very good class. I am looking forward to seeing them again at the end of the year class picnic. I wish them and their families the best Christmas ever.
Hope all of you are ready for your holidays . It is a wee bit warmer here now.  Enjoy your day. XO

  1. How fun! I love that the little class had a Christmas program and party. Children always make Christmas more fun. I agree, those ladies are way too young to have children that old. Good for that boy for not minding the chapstick.

    1. Kathy, I was proud that the young mothers made healthier foods. I do not object to kids eating cereal...but this was a breakfast party...so the eggs and meats were good for them and the fruit truly was. All the kids were adorable. You know some can almost make you cry. Blessings, hope you and Joe are doing well and feeling good. xoxo, Susie

  2. There's nothing quite like a child's classroom filled with interesting and colorful pictures of the special kids who draw them. How fun that your daughter got to open all the goodies at school. I bet she got some delightful gifts.

    Happy Christmas week, Susie!

    1. Sheri, Don't you love the way school smells?? There's like an art gallery when you walk down the halls and see all the classes' art. Poems and stories were hanging outside the classrooms. No all kids can give gifts...but you know when one is truly giving his heart. One boy had made a box of construction paper and wrote a song on another piece of the same paper and put it in the box...I almost cried. My gosh I am a soft hearted mommy. He was so proud when Angie started to sing "We wish you a merry Christmas" and everyone joined in. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie

    2. Susie, I'm glad you liked the picture of me and Santa. I got the idea from you when you posted your picture with Santa. It's funny how we remember the little things around Christmas. This was someone that played Santa at the square in our town back in the day, and he had the warmest smile with twinkling eyes. That's why he reminded me of the real Santa. Have a nice evening, Susie, and stay warm. It sounds like it's cooooold there. :)

    1. Vee, Honestly, I just about burst out laughing when I read your comment....because I told my daughter that some of the kids looked like they came right out of the movie, "Christmas Story".. There were a few that had that kind of 40's or 50's look about them..which I truly love. The class got to watch a movie in the afternoon. They did not have homework this week either. Blessings, hope you are ready for the holidays. xoxo, Susie

    1. Boston Boy, I love the murals on all the walls. I am going to try to get more photos next year. My daughter says her 5th graders are not full of attitude...so that helps. It's amazing what a couple years does to a child. Blessings and hello to Arlene, everyone who works at a school is making a difference in a child's life.xoxo, Susie

  9. Your daughter is amazing! It's wonderful how many lives she has touched. This post brought back my childhood school days.....I never ever had a gift for the teacher. I wanted to give each one something but Mother would never buy anything. Ever. For any of us. For any of our teachers. In the third grade I was so ashamed that I did not have a gift for Mrs. Matney. When I apologized to her that I couldn't get her anything, she said that I WAS her gift! Later in the school year I actually lived with Mrs. Matney and her husband for several months. They wanted to adopt me.....but that didn't work out. Still - she was an angel when I needed one. You can count on school teachers!

    1. Linda, This is a heart touching comment. I would have moved in with any of my teachers if I had been given a chance. LOL My Angie makes over each gift and thanks the kids for helping her unwrap and enjoy the gifts. Some of the gifts are fancy and some are like the paper box with a song inside from a small boy. Some kids made cards. My daughter keeps these gifts. I hope kids count on my Angie when they may need her. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  10. I remember the days of going to the school for Christmas programs. It's so nice that you got to go see this! The tinted chapstick on that young man is funny, what a good sport! We are warming up here too. Yesterday it was in the 30s! That is a nice change from what it has been. Merry Christmas Susie...HUGS 😊

    1. Karen, I loved that the boy didn't mind any one smiling or laughing...but truly no one made fun...there's difference. It good to laugh at ourselves, makes embarrassing moments easier to take. I would love to see more school programs and concerts...it does my heart good. Blessings to you and yours, wishing you a merry Christmas, xoxo, Susie

I know your daughter is a wonderful teacher and role model for them. These memories they are making in her class will stick with them and her the rest of their lives. Merry Christmas my dear, sweet friend. I hope you and your family have a wonderful, holiday. Thank you so much for my beautiful card. It brought tears to my eyes. I'm so sorry I didn't get any out this year. I'm about crazy dealing with this mess I'm in. My Adrenal Glands ahve went down now and it's so hard.
