Let's Pretend.....

This shot's a bit dark...my niece sent some photos to me. Max and cousin Layla are sledding in the house. LOL She's 10 months older than Max but he's almost as big.
Here they have their backpacks on and are pretending to go to school. Layla will be 2 this month , Max is 14 months. How do they know to go to school?? LOL
This is one little Valentines decoration I have out. I need to get busy or the special day will be here and gone. :) This dish is one I picked up at goodwill . The birds are from Horton's.  The dried rose is from last year.
We had a wonderful weekend. Sunshine and chilly. More sun till later this afternoon....then rain is coming into Indiana.  Hope all of you enjoyed your weekend.
I saw bluebirds checking out the two houses we have for them., this morning. They are a month early in this area. Ted made sure the houses were clean and put out some dried meal worms.....hope the bluebirds come back. We will have to watch to make sure wrens and sparrows don't take over the little birdhouses.
Enjoy this week, spring is 42 days from now. XO

  1. The little darlings are so cute. I love to watch mine pretend. It looks like Spring here. We've had only 1-2 days at the time of Winter. After the dismal Winter of depression, I am so ready for a new season both figuratively and literally.

    1. Bonnie, I thought waiting for spring, last year , was rough...oh my, I am ready for some time outdoors. I did walk the driveways today. Our winter has been a mild one too. I just wish I could have more time around the babies. They are 40 miles away...plus you know how with their parents working...it's just not easy to get to visit. They work till 5 and we old folks like to be home at that time. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. Susie, that silver dish with the white birds and red rose is soooo pretty. It looks like a dried-up rose. Max and Layla are darling with their backpacks playing school. Susie, guess what? It's raining again today. Not sure what is happening in other parts of Calif, but here it's just a light rain. This is helping with the drought here.

I'd love to see those bluebirds around your area. That was nice of Ted to make sure the birdhouses were clean.

    Have a wonderful week, Susie.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Sheri, That rose was dried from my birthday flowers of last year. :):) I still love dried roses . I am glad your rains are too much. Some places having flooding. When I saw the two little ones with backpacks...that alone made me laugh...but saying school is even funnier. I pray those bluebirds return and make nests here. I want them to stay. Blessings for a fun week there. love, xoxo, Susie

  4. Love your dish and the birds and rose. I don't have much out for Valentine's Day but will have our two daughters and 8 granddaughters for lunch. Bought them all nail polish. Your little ones are so precious.

    1. Noreen, I would much rather have my daughters and granddaughters here for lunch than any decorations. LOL. You will have the best time. Nail polish is great gift for them all. I would so love to hug our little ones. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. And we just want them to stay little a long time, don't we? But it's wonderful when they think school is exciting. It looks like these two are making the most of entertaining themselves inside until spring arrives. I know so many of you can't wait until spring but our hot weather in FL lasted so long that I want to enjoy every cold day here in TN first!

    1. Dewena, I don't know if I could take the humidity of Florida. I do not mind cool or even cold...but bitter cold and wind and heavy snows...not for me. I know you are happy to be back to your beloved Tennessee. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  8. It's fun to get photos like this. And I hope your bluebirds come to nest. They try to nest in the little cubby under our mailbox but it's not the best place! Hugs!

    1. Diane, Those babies playing together makes me so happy. I did see the bluebirds back at the little houses again. :) A mailbox has too much activity for birds. Some birds make nest in the busiest places. Like in a hanging plant by the door. One year robins built nest on the window sills were we walked by all the time. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  9. It is fun to watch the little ones at play. At their rate, they'll be off to college in no time. The weather must be inviting for the birds to have come back so early.

    1. Vee, You said it ...those little babies will be off to school for real in no time at all. It's 60 degrees here this morning (Thurs.) maybe that is why the birds are early. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  14. Cute kids!
We're having typical New England weather. Snow today, tomorrow close to 60, or so they say.
Are the bluebirds looking to buy or rent?

  16. I had to laugh at the sledding in the house...my kids used to throw sleeping bags on the stairs and then ride their plastic sleds down! Kids are inventive! 46 days until spring...doesn't sound so bad!
