Snow Day....

This is how our Wednesday snow day started . At noon , it started to snow ans snowed till after 8:00 pm.
Super gray and visibility was poor.
Later the snow is building up sticking to the trees and roads.
I took this on the back deck at that blue hour of the day. Still snowing.
The total was about 3 inches of snow . The sun is trying to come out. It's 13 degrees here at 9 this Thursday morning. Not going to be a very warm day, that is for sure.
We watched a couple movies yesterday, Rabbit Proof Fence and The Story Of Us.  Nice to enjoy a roaring fire in the fireplace and relax.
I know the eastern states and the coast are in for a northeaster. Please be safe. XO

  3. Yes, we had three inches, too. Over and over all day long. Today's storm will bring over a foot. I am calling the Plowman today and I am not going anywhere. I love photos taken at the blue hour. Very pretty.

    1. Vee, That is going to be a scary snow. Be safe...especially if you should venture out. I am hoping our sunshine will help melt some of this snow. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. Winter can be pretty! We are experiencing the same kind of weather. I felt fortunate that we hardly got any snow out of that stuff that moved East. It's warmed up to 15º!

    1. Liz, I truly count our blessings as far as this winter has been. It's a bit crazy with high temps, then extreme lows . Sunny days and cold days. The sun does lift my spirits so the cold is doable to me. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

  5. Your snow pictures are so pretty! We were expecting 8 inches of snow and got about 2 inches. It's already stopped and all the roads are clear. It's cold but I can deal with that. Hope your temperatures go up soon. 13 is just too cold for me.

    1. Kathy, I try to watch the weather for the U.S. ...it looked so scary for the east. I am like you...if the roads are clear and the sun is out...I am in good spirits. Tomorrow will be much warmer. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  6. I haven't seen either of those movies!
Your snow looks pretty. I guess winter will not arrive here this year. Usually February brings some drastic changes from day to day but it's been mostly mild so far.
We have been sleeping with the back door open to the cool air at night.I am dreading the hot months of summer which last for more than just June/July/August. We have already run the A/C several times this year including Christmas Day!!

    1. Linda, I can not take the heat any more. I guess it's old age. I don't like being cold much...but when I am bundled up and walking, I do not mind my face getting ocld..it feels refreshing. You know I thought last winter was wacky weather...but this year is even more so. Snow does make things look clean. The movie The Story Of Us...is a good movie but lots of cussing that I can do without although I have used my share of some words. LOL. Hope we all have an early spring...without the storms. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  7. Oh my gosh, that picture with the snow falling is so neat. Your snow pictures always make my heart sing, Susie. It looks like a white wonderland around your house. I bet your deck looks nice all covered in snow, but I'm wondering if it's hard to clean up after a snow fall? A good day for watching movies and staying inside. :)

    Blessings to you, Susie.

    1. Sheri, I like to see things covered in snow...it looks so clean. If the snow is deep I can scoot it off the deck with my snow shovel. When it's not so deep I just sweep it off. I like watching movies about kids or true stories. Rabbit Proof Fence is a true story of children born to Aboriginal women and white men in Australia, being taken from their mothers. Blessings for a good day there. The temperature got up to 22 degrees today...Tomorrow will be better. :) xoxo, love, Susie

  11. Snow is so pretty, Susie, but the news is not good out there. We have been pouring rain for 3 days straight now, flooding in places that were just fixed from about one month ago. Looks like we are in for a hard winter all over..xxoJudy

    1. Judy, I know your state could use rain...but in moderation...I though the rains have been heavy and causing landslides....that worries me. So I pray . I do not even like two days of rain here. Please be safe. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

  15. A dusting, right? We had barely a 1/16 of an inch. I love a good snow except for when my family is out on the roads. So pretty. I'm wanting to make a snowman really bad!

    1. Blondie, That is the thing that bothers me about snow and fog, I do worry about people getting to and from their jobs. When it first was snowing , all wet stuff, you could have made a nice snowman, but the snow is crusty now from the sun melting some of it. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
