Thursday's Sunshine......

You can see the porch is still snowy and icy. The sun did not melt much of snow.
As the sun was setting , it became a bright yellow ball, reflecting on the snow.
I love the long shadows with a  cast of orange.
Here it's getting near dark and the dusk to dawn light is on at the shop.
The sun is sinking  below the horizon, leaving it's beautiful colors
The backyard  is taking on the blue color of late dusk.  You can see Ted's foot prints where he walked around looking at the roof ..We always make sure the melting snow is clear of the gutters...to keep from having ice dams. We just never take that chance.
The sun goes beyond the horizon giving us, a sweet bit of  it's glow. I did enjoy  Thursday's  beautiful sunshine and blue skies.
Today I went to goodwill to junk. Ted dropped me off and he went to Menard's for a new tool. Then we went to Big Lots to look around. Picked up some  tidbits. We ate lunch at Steak n Shake. I nice quick lunch and then back home. I did not find anything I just had to have at goodwill. :(  I am mad at myself for forgetting to take in the bags I have of things from the closets.
Today had a peep or two of sun, not near enough.  It's been enough to melt some of the ice from our roads. Thankful for that. Hope your day was a good one. I know many had the bad snows and winds. I am thinking of you and sending prayers.  XO

  1. Those are great shots of the yard and the sun and light patterns there, Susie. I hope it melts fast! I am sick of winter---of course, I am sick of winter before it starts. lol I just do not like the cold.

Glad you got out for a bit. Do you know I had never eaten at a Steak & Shake until a couple of years ago when I was visiting my daughter? So good! I had one of their chocolate shakes!
Have a good night- xo Diana

    1. Diana, We asked for pepper cheese instead of cheddar..oh boy it was good.. I have never had one of those shakes. Ted and I both mentioned that today. He hasn't either. Of course when Emma has been with us...she gets one. LOL
I have been loving the sunshine Diana. I am not a fan of winter...and the older I get the less I like it...but then again, I can't bear 80's and 90's. Kills this old girl. Blessings for a fun weekend. It will warm up but may rain here. xoxo, Susie

  2. Beautiful pics Susie but it looks so cold. I'll be so glad to see spring and I know you all will more so. We've had a warm winter compared to last winter and the daffodils are coming up and blooming. I'm glad you were able to get out some. Take care and stay warm. Hugs, xo

    1. Susie, It was cold for a couple days, it is warming up again. We have had an odd winter. I have irises popping up even in the snow. I hope the frost doesn't kill off things if they bud too early. Blessings to you for a great weekend, xoxo, Susie

Steak and Shake used to be one of Mother's favorite places. She doesn't get out much anymore. Maybe I will pick up some there and take it to her soon!

    1. Linda, I hope your mother is doing well in her new place. I know you miss your times with her. Ted loves Steak n Shake... me not so much...unless I am starving. LOL I will say the pepper cheese we ordered on our sandwiches made them much tastier. Blessings to all there, Xoxo, love, Susie

  5. Your pictures today are wonderful, Susie. I especially like that last one. We don't have a Steak n Shake around here. It sounds good. I'm glad you had a bit of sunshine. The sun is shining here today, and everything looks so pretty from all the rain. Sometimes we don't find anything at the thrift stores, and then sometimes we come home with lots of goodies. :) Maybe next time, Susie.

    Have a fun weekend.

    1. Sheri, Maybe our Steak n Shake is like an In n Out.:) I love a sunny day after the rain...the air is so fresh. Today was like spring...many people riding motorcycles. It was 60 degrees...the snow has melted ...all gone. Hope you have a beautiful Sunday. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie

  6. Oh how I love that sunshine! We had record warm temps the other day and then rain for two. It has melted all of our snow. No flooding here, but Northern Utah is having terrible flood problems. Not good! Hoping it doesn't warm up too fast or continue raining. Prayers indeed!!
    hugs,

    1. Jann, I truly do not like for the spring thaw to be too fast and with rain...it's too scary. I always worry about flooding. Today we had sunshine here (Saturday). All our snow melted and people were riding motorcycles all around town. Everyone seems ready for spring already. LOL. Wishing you and great evening and beautiful Sunday. xoxo, Susie

    1. I do not know how you deal with such snows. We had the least snow this year ever. I know northern states have bigger better snow removal equipment than we do. That's a good thing. I pray for any one facing terrible weather to get to and from their jobs. You know we can always cancel a shopping trip or luncheon but people have to work. Blessings, stay warm up there. xoxo, Susie
