Grandaughters' Semi-formal......

Last night was Savannah's semiformal dance. Her dress had little glow in the dark stars on it. This is just a try on.  Love that it has pockets.
Emma  went to the dance also. How are my granddaughters growing so quickly. Emma's  mom got this sweet dress for 13 dollars. Win, win.

This is Emma when she was our baby girl.
Here's Savannah when she was our baby princess.
Savannah and Emma all dressed for an  evening of fun with their friends. These girls are cousins...their mothers are my twin daughters.
I received a photo of Emma and her girlfriends. Don't you love those high top sneakers? Emma is taller than the rest. I was hoping for a group shot of Savannah and her pals, but she didn't send one. Is it just me, or is 13 much older than it used to be?? :(:(
We had storms last night. The sump pumps came on in the night,  meaning the ground around here is saturated. Flood warnings for most of the state.  More rain forecasted for the next two days, then a break for  a day, then more rain. I remember that bright shiny thing in the sky...you know , called the sun. I am waiting to see it again. :):)
Wishing all a blessed Sunday. XO

  1. It isn't just you. 13 is older than it used to be. When I look at these young ladies, I am wondering why didn't we look like that? They are pretty girls and I'm pleased for you to have such lovely granddaughters. So cool to be cousins and their moms are twins.
The really bad storms passed us over, but others nearby weren't so lucky. Tornadoes struck east of us and hit hard. 5 deaths and many injuries and losses. My cousins in Arkansas got hit with storms and flooding.

    1. Nonnie, I kind was wishing it was my twins going to the dance...not my two youngest granddaughters. Boy I feel so old. I fear floods more than anything. It is scary what is happening from the flood waters in Mo. Sorry you cousins had bad weather too. That is so sad about the loss of lives. Blessings to you, stay safe. xoxo, Susie

  2. A very attractive group of young ladies! I hope they all had fun. We've had some nice days though it's not in the 80's today but it is a very nice Spring day. This is Spring isn't it?

    1. It is still spring Boston Boy. I am wanting to enjoy my spring...but sitting in out of the rain isn't so fun. I like 65 to 75...not a big fan of 80-90 degrees. Hope you can get out and get some great pictures. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
p.s. Gee those girls look more like high school than middle school.

  3. Yes, 13 seems much older these days. The rain in our state is awful and we have had some severe storms in the southern half of the state. I am so tired of the rain.

    1. Karen, I bet some of them primped all day. LOL. I know Emma had her hair curled and Savannah put that blue color in hers. It was the last dance of the year. I have no idea how many they have. They were both happy with their group of friends. I am hoping the rain will let up. It's too wet around here. I want to sit out in the sun.:):) Blessings to you, be safe. xoxo, Susie

  6. Yep 13 is much older than it used to be. When our age group was 13 some of them were still dressing Barbies -lol- long ago in a galaxy far, far away.

The girls are both as cute as can be. I love that they can get all dolled up and enjoy themselves. Fun with the sneakers on the one girl, too.

Hope you have a good week, Susie. xo Diana

  8. Sweet photos! And yeah, how do they grow up so fast?! I think that thirteen is older than it used to be. I was still riding horse, building forts, and rafting on the creek. Oh well. Your granddaughters are cuties!

  9. HI Susie, Praying you don't have any flooding and that your sump pumps work. We had them at our last house and loved them.
Your grands look beyond 13-especially Savannah. Your daughters are so lucky to have girls that are best friends. My oldest granddaughter just turned 12, but there won't be any dances in their future-which is fine with everyone. Maybe when they are 17, but since all the friends are homeschooled, I doubt that would happen. Enjoy your week.

Savannah is 15....her mother held her back in 1st grade. Emma is taller than most girl her own age and some older ones...like her cousin Savannah. LOL I am glad they are friends. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  10. Emma and Savannah look cute in their dresses. Do they go to the same school? I love these pictures of them when they were little. It sounds like they are close cousins. That's a cute picture of Emma and her friends. She will remember that always.

It's sunny this week, and getting warmer. Happy May, Susie.

    1. Sheri, The girls do go to the same school , along with Savannah's brother Skylar. I like the girls to have time together. They used to spend nights at each other's houses. They are getting their own group of friends now. Savannah will be in HS next year. Tomorrow will be a bit sunny for us , but cold. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie

  11. We've watched these girls grow up and it really is hard to imagine them getting dressed up to go to a dance. Life sure rushes by. I'm glad you and I have learned to appreciate what we have and enjoy it. I would like to have some of that rain though...I would send you some sunshine! Hugs, Diane

We have had rain and more rain, too. And it's chilly. We should have lots of May flowers with all those April showers! :)
Happy May to you! xx Cheryl

    1. Cheryl, I am so thankful the girls were not going to "prom".lol...they had a semi formal middle school dance. I was surprised they wanted to dressed and get their nails done. :):) Oh yes, it's been down in the mid 30's at night here. That is too cold for me at this time. I am praying the heavy rains headed back here do not stay together but break up. am shocked at the amounts of rain. We are to have another 3 or more inches before the weekend is over. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  14. I love their dresses, and those of Emma's friends. And to think I wore long full formals to prom. Do girls ever do that anymore?

It is really nice to have cousins in the same school. I know you are so proud of them.

I hope you see that old sun soon, Susie. Today was one of the most beautiful spring days I've ever seen and here I was stuck inside, down with some kind of respiratory virus when I wanted to be outside enjoying it.

    1. Dewena, The girls were attending a semi formal middle school dance...oh I am in no way ready for them to go to prom....That would just be too much for this old lady. LOL I only have 3 grands still in school. Savannah , her brother Skylar and her cousin Emma. Layla , our great grand is 2 so it will be a bit yet before she goes to school.
We have had some bit of sunshine yesterday (Tues.) and this morning (Wed.) More rain coming in this afternoon and raining all day tomorrow. Yikes. We will be bailing. Be safe there. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
