More Photos....

Liz watching ducks.  She also was looking at the waterfront condos.
My other three looking at the flag flying on the beach.
It was yellow, so it was caution, because a rain was coming.
One small break in the clouds made a small reflection on the water. The American flag was flying well.
One big boat going out on the lake. We saw a small child sitting in front.
Mr. Mallard strutting his stuff. Such a pretty duck.
Fishermen returning , getting in off the lake with  rain coming and wind picking up speed.
Liz is still watching boats returning, but not for long, it was staring to sprinkle...so off to the ice cream store. Where I had a turtle cheesecake in a waffle cone. So yummy. I did not take photos of everyone's ice cream...too busy eating mine.  LOL
Went to the Nurse Practitioner , yesterday. She says I have a sprained ankle....as she puts her gloves on to give two pokes at my ankle, and teaches a nursing student with her. I asked about x-rays...she says no need. I ask will she look at my eczema and a place on my leg...she tells the student all about how you can tell eczema from a fungus. Yet says nothing  about meds for my eczema. I ask ,"Don't you want to probe or lance the place on my leg, ? (about a 1/4 inch in size and irritated looking. ) She says no, go see a dermatologist. I feel once again , I have paid 170 dollars to listen to her tell me things I already know....I will say she did call in my scripts...or had the prep nurse do it.  This is no reflection on nurse practitioners...but dang, what do they do? I tried to tell her, that she is possibly a "middle man"...that I pay her to send me to a dr. so I can pay him....all the while living on a budget. She says the government is trying to helps us....say what ????  LOL  Thanks for letting me beef.  What can we do?
I watched the last of the daylight last night.  When it's first day of summer I want to be up as long as it's daylight.  Made for a long day. :):) Wishing all of you a great day.XO

  1. Pretty photos of your daughters. Your ice cream cone sounds so delicious! I love ice cream and watermelon this time of year. So sorry for your frustrating visit and about your ankle. We are experiencing heavy rain in GA today. Take care. xoxo

    1. Mildred, Hope you are safe..I saw where the storm Cindy was bring in bad weather and lots of rain. It will be here too. I will just have to ice and rest my ankle...that is hard for me...hate sitting still. LOL. That was a nice ice cream...they had lots of flavors. Lots of customers also. Blessings, love you, xoxo, Susie

  2. Susie, I feel your frustration. Dennis had the same thing with a NP here and finally just found himself a doctor. I go to the NP for well checks and so far my health is good. But if that changes I'm sure I'll find a doctor. As you said, nothing against NP's (my granddaughter is considering that profession), but I think there's a limited amount they can do. Anyway, I hope you get the care you need. Hugs.

    1. Nancy, We have no drs. in town taking any new patients...as our dr. went to a richer town near Indy. So they send us to this nurse...I thought the first time was a big joke...well I have learn a lesson. I have to find a dr. Stay healthy honey, for as long as you can. I miss our good old drs. , who do it all. My daughter and granddaughter are nurses. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Sylvia, I like ducks...Canadian Geese, not so much...they tend to take over all water . I have to rest my ankle and try to see a dr. for my leg. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. I always feel like I'm getting "passed off" to the NP because it's too hard to get in to see the Dr. We're not old enough for Medicare yet, but we're retired, so we have one plan available to us with almost no choice of Doctors. I'm ready for something different, but I'm not holding my breath!

    1. Jan, We do not have a dr., ours went to a richer town and the ones left behind will not take new patients. I went to this nurse once before and then this week...I will not be going back. I feel like she just didn't even try to do much...even with me asking if I needed an x-ray, or this place on my leg may need a scrapping. Who knows. LOL. I was surprised she put gloves on:(:( Indiana University Medical has a monopoly going here and it's rough. Oh yes, we will see what happens with congress...they all need to work together. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. Gee, I was enjoying your post and pics until I read about your experience with the nurse. I recently had to have my physical by a PA and it was the same thing. She wasn't thorough at all. Since I know I am a healthy person, I intend to tell my doctor know next time I am in to see her that if I can't see the doctor, there's no point in coming in.

    1. Nonnie, I try my best to give everyone a fair chance...but this is my second time seeing this nurse and I am very much done with her. We need new drs. in our town. The old ones won't take new patients and our dr. moved to the big city. I am thankful Ted has a marvelous heart dr. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  6. Hi Susie. Yeah, the government is giving us a lot of help isn't it. Don't get me started. Looks like your get away was so pretty and COOL! They ask me if I want to see the nurse practicioner and I always say no, just my doc. I just feel more confident in that decision..Have a wonderful week..xxoJudy

    1. Judy, It's hard to convince retirees that the government cares for us. LOL We do not have a dr. , he moved to Indy(money). The rest do not want any more patients. I have this nurse twice and I won't be going back. I can doctor myself better than she has helped me. I wish her well. I will just rest for a few days and then if not better go dr. shopping in our towns. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  10. i loved the marina photos Susie...my idea of the good life. Now I have a real issue with paying so much money for routine office visits and seeing a Nurse Practioner.....this is taking over everywhere....I cannot believe our medical care has come to this and having come from a medical family and being in the medical field for 40 years...this is tragic.....so sorry for your experience.

    1. Betsy, I love nurses , as my daughter and granddaughters are nurses too. But why see a nurse that can't do anything for you. I am ready to buy my own home remedies book and tend to myself. There's many things I do not go to the dr. for, but when I go I make a list. LOL. I really want her imput on my eczema and this spot on my shin...and I got nothing. I won't be going back...and to think I once complained about Dr.Mary being so busy she forgot why she was treating you. :):) I miss her father, he was my all time favorite dr. He knew everything and could treat you with compassion. I just hope things can improve. Indiana University Medical has just about got a monopoly on health care in our state. That's not good. Blessings, hope you aren't getting too much rain . That storm's stirring things up. xoxo, Susie

  12. I enjoyed seeing your photos at the marina. Yum, that ice cream cone sounded good. I do hope your ankle feels better soon and I hear you about the NP's. I really have a problem with paying the same price for them as for a doctor. Praying that we get some decent health care passed soon. Have a nice weekend!

    1. Cheryl, The double paying is a beef with me too. Pay the N.P. , then maybe get to see a dr. and pay him too....and still get no results. I would just love a few new drs. to come to our town. It's small and they may be into more social status . The drs. we have had ,lived here and raised families here.I miss them. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  13. Great pictures of your girls and Lake Michigan. I love it there. I would switch Dr.'s. I know....that's hard to do. I go to a Dr. that does NOT have a nurse pract., but I've about had it with his "Medical Assistant." She is incompetent, and we have caught her in so many mistakes. It's scary. Your ankle DID need an x-ray. I BROKE my ankle and had NO IDEA it was broken. I was walking on it. They took an x-ray and told me it was broken. There is a Dr. in Kokomo you might like that I went to for my foot. His name is Dr. Joshua Keyes and he is wonderful. He and his wife are in the same practice/office and I've sent three people to him and they all like him. He's a foot Dr. only though. I've started going to specialists and use the MD for a referral or for colds/flu. OK enough!
Hey Patti Beck's garden tour is today and tomorrow and we talked about meeting there! I can't today but I can on Sunday if you can. I thought I had your phone number, but I can't find it in my phone. I would swear we exchanged numbers. Anyway, if you have my number send me a text.

  14. The waterfront pictures are so pretty, Susie. I especially like the one with the flag and the bench in the distance. I have been noticing the flag a lot lately since it's almost 4th of July. I'm sorry you sprained your ankle. It will take some time to heal. Just relax on your porch today and try to stay off it. You'll be back to yourself before you know it. : )

  15. Bless your heart! Not only are you in pain, but frustrated in trying to get care! Not good! I'm very blessed to have a 'real' Doctor! I only see her for my annual checkup and seldom any other time now that I no longer have bladder infections. I remember you saying y'all have a shortage of doctors in your area...
Love the pretty photos of the marina. I have missed so much of your life these last few weeks we have been down here in the country. I use most of my data just to blog and haven't been able to visit much. We go home next Monday and it will be wonderful to have fast unlimited Internet again!

  16. Susie, you nailed it! That's exactly what these NPs are....no good and they cost a fortune. I want a REAL doctor.
