Here's some of the classmate brunch bunch meeting again. The lady in white, Shelia, is here from Florida. She came home to bury her husband's ashes and be with her sister. She was my neighbor growing up. The lady in the red top, Patty, beside her is the one who gets us all together. Standing is Patty, Shelia, me, Linda, Phyllis, & Nancy. The two seated are Vickie and Patti. I look tall...LOL..I am only 5'4''.
It was so nice to be with Shelia , as she isn't at most of our gathering. Her husband had been ill a few years. She is going back to Florida to take a year to think over , if she wants to move back to Tipton to be with her family. That would be a hard choice, since she has lived in Florida so long.
The fire fighters and emergency squad were at the restaurant too. I am not sure if they had been on runs or practicing..
While I am mentioning fire fighters...please take time today to pray for the fire fighters out west, that are fighting the forest fires. They are so brave, putting their lives in danger, and working in so many hours.
After the brunch, Ted and I got the deck power washed. It's drying thoroughly now...so we can stain it come Thursday.
Wishing all of you a beautiful day. XO
Looks like a fun bunch of ladies!!
ReplyDeleteWe are all so different...but we have learned to appreciate each other as we have aged. It's been fun the times we have had together. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHi Susie! It's nice catching up with old friends, isn't it? I am planning our 45th reunion for September. The farm table is filled with names from my childhood! I love the idea that you and your classmates "do brunch". Keeping the connection is so special . . . especially at this time for your friend who lost her husband. I am quite sure she found comfort among old friends. I hope Shelia returns to Tipton . . . there is something very special about Tipton. I can feel it from here.

Hi Lynne, You are going to have such fun at your reunion. Getting to see old school chums and catching up is fun. Sad for all those that have passed on, we had many. Our friend Shelia came home last year and on the way she had to take her husband to the hospital..so she never got to be with us. He had many health issues. We have to let people know we love while we can. Hug all your friends when you see them. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhat a fun thing that you get to do! I am far away from any past classmates of mine...and they get together like this there. They share their photos on facebook so I can see how their day went. We just had our 35th class reunion last week. Maybe I could do a post about that. LOL
ReplyDeletePraying for the firemen out west. I saw where one died the other night on the news. Just terrible.
I hope you don't get rain! They are calling for rain today here- sun's out and blue skies- so it might not happen at all. We sure need it bad. Have a good day!
Tete, I love the times with my gal pals. It was sad this time...I hated seeing my friend cry about the loss of her husband. I think they had been married almost 50 years. Thank you for the fire fighter prayers. Gotta love those people. You Tete...this is hard to believe...but we could use some rain. after two months of soakers we are now about two weeks with out more than a 1/3 inch of rain. Crazy weather. I have to say the low humidity is so nice. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteIt's so nice that you all get together so often..We have a lady in our neighborhood who just moved back here from Florida after her husband died...Yes, my thoughts and prayers are with the firefighters..Terrible job !!
ReplyDeleteMissy, It seems we have plenty of stories to tell and some good laughs and even some times there are tears. It was so good to see my neighbor girl...she looks like her mom did. Losing a loved one and moving also..is big changes in a person's life. Missy, can you believe we need a good soaking rain...not a flood but some rain. And this after the two rainiest months ever. Hope you get a cool down. The low humidity has been nice. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHi Susie! Just popping in to say Hello and let you know I am still around. I think that is smart that your friend is taking a year to think things over before she makes any big changes. They say you should do that.
ReplyDeleteHow nice that all you gals were able to get together....what fun you always have.
Hope you have a great week, Susie. xo Diana
Hi Diana., boy we have all missed you. I did read your book...I have so many questions...you will have to do a book review with us. LOL. I enjoyed it past Lucy being little and the lure of the woods. ...that part made me wonder where the father went...Getting together with these ladies is fun and interesting...the stories !! LOL. Blessings, take care and hurry back, love, Susie
DeleteSusie - Sounds like a fun time with your classmates. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteJudy
Thank you Judy. We did enjoy our visit ...but there were tears because of our friend losing her husband. They had been married almost 50 years. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
Deletep.s. I know you understand about the loss of your husband. Hugs.
I think it's wonderful that you all get together for brunch. And you always get your picture taken too. Looks like you had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteKathy, I am going to see if I am taller in all the old pictures. LOL. It is always a fun time. It does us good to visit. Some times there's lots of talk about aches and pains. LOL. xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie, I'm so glad you had a good meeting with all your friends. Thank you for the words for the firefighters. They certainly deserve them..Happy Wednesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, We have been enjoying our gatherings. We have moments of laughter and even tears. There were some tears this time, because of Shelia 's loss. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteGlad you had fun catching up with old friends. Those are the best of times. Have a great rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteKris
Kris, WE had a fun time and I think it helped Shelia to be with us for even a short time. This week is going fast. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI have a group of 5 that get together and they are such a blessing as I know these friends are to you. Staining the deck will be hard work; hopefully it is not real hot or at least you have some shade. Take care. xo
ReplyDeleteMildred, I think all women need time with their girlfriends. It is fun to just have that special time. I hope it doesn't rain all day...it may come in tonight. We really need some rain , can you believe after the two months of record rain we just had. LOL Hope you and John are doing well. Thinking of you both, love you, Susie
DeleteHi Susie, I love that you get together with old friends and stay in touch. I have lost all contact with my Indiana high school friends. It's so much harder for women to stay in touch . . . with our last names changing and all. Thanks for visiting my blog and for being such a sweet blogging sister. Oh, the post before this one . . . I love you black-eyed Susan's. They are so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteConnie
Connie, What area are you from in Indiana? I still call my classmates by their original names. LOL At one class reunion someone passed out little leaflet of addresses and emails addresses too. That's been nice.I enjoy visiting your blog. I like seeing what you are making. :):) Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSo fun being with friends you have had for so long. I'm glad that we got our family vacation in when we did. With my mom not doing well and my husband' mom in hospice right now, life is unpredictable. But so is life right. Thanks for always visiting and commenting. Hugs
ReplyDeleteDebby, I think your plates are full there. You husband and your mothers are both not well....making life worrisome enough and I think you are still having open houses, aren't you? You are in my prayers dear friend. You are so right, we never know from one moment to the next what is in store for any of us. So let's keep our faith and be strong thru Christ.Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteIt's so nice that you all still get together. That would be a big decision about where to live after you've lost your Shug. It's good she is taking time to think about it. Prayers for the firemen. I had two cousins that were firemen. They are retired now.
ReplyDeleteCindy Bee
Thank you Cindy, for the prayers for our fire fighters. I see some of their faces in the news or in the papers, they are tough but worn thin at times. You take care of yourself and your Shug...you have been thru a lot this past couple years. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI can't wait to see your deck when it's stained. You and Ted are always doing projects around the house to make your home a better place to live. That must have been nice to get together with all of your classmates again, and especially with the friend you don't see that often.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely evening, Susie.
love, ~Sheri
Sorry Sheri, this was for Cindy and I have click on the wrong comment. YIkes.
DeleteSheri, It rained and the deck got soaked ...so we have to wait for a full day of drying time. But we did buy the stain. I am so ready to do and get it done. LOL. I was leaving a reply to Cindy's comment and put it under your comment..I delete it now. I hope I always put a person's name at the top...so they can tell it's to them or not. LOL. Blessings, love you, Susie
DeleteHi Susie, I'm glad your friend is taking some time to think about a possible move. It's a huge decision and taking at least a year, if possible, is the best idea. I know, losing a husband changes everything but the first year is hard enough to get through, let alone, to make a big decision! It's so nice that you all get together and enjoy each others' company! That's what friends are for! Blessings, Cindy xoxo
ReplyDeleteCIndy, Our friend Shelia will have to make the choice to move on her...it's her decision. She has some eye health issues that may be part of her choice to move back here. Plus her family is all here. I pray for her. When one of our classmates pops into town...we hurry to meet up for brunch., otherwise it's once a month. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI'm glad you had fun at brunch with your friends. Did you get your deck stained? Take care and have a nice Friday!
ReplyDeleteCheryl, It rained Wed.evening the deck was wet again..it takes at least a day to dry out well enough to stain. But we have bought the stain. Hope your Friday is a good one also. I know you and your husband stay busy too. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI have always admired the way you treasure your friends! You have so many! I thank God for OUR blogging friendship and all the blessings you have been to Louis Dean and me! He still calls you his 'Susie Q' and I have to read any and every comment you make OUT LOUD to him!!
ReplyDeleteI know YOU are as much of a blessing to your friends as THEY are to you!!
LInda, I love this comment. Tell LD I appreciate being his Susie Q. LOL. I too love our friendship...I am so glad we started visiting each other's blog. Come Monday morning is the classmate brunch that we usually have. It's once a month normally...but maybe an extra here and there when someone comes in from out of town or state. Blessings, Love you guys, Susie
DeleteHow nice to be with friends, just sad that your one friend was here to bury her husband. My cousin had the same situation. She buried her husband in Missouri, but decided not to move back up north and stayed in Florida. So, I can understand her deliema.
ReplyDeleteHope it's warmed up enough to dry out your deck.
Blessings
Gert
Gert, I hope that our friend Shelia liked being with all of us for just a bit. I hope she can make a wise choice for herself. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI can help you stain your deck. What kind of stains are you looking for? Food and drink stains? I very good with these.
ReplyDeletePaul, My husband has a whole bunch of T-shirts like that. LOL all kinds of stains. You two should hang out together. LOL. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
