Karen and Jeff have both taken off work for this week. Karen will take family leave time , to be able to take care of Skylar at home...when he is released. The drs. did say there will be PT when Skylar has healed. This has been very hard to go through and my heart breaks for my daughter and her family.
We will get through this and hopefully that ATV will never run again. I do not like them. I am not crazy about dirt bikes either. I am wanting Skylar to trade all those nasty wheeled things in for a pair of track shoes...then he can get his need for speed by running.
Again , I thank all of you. You are important to me and have helped me through your prayers. XO
I'm so glad it all went smoothly, I agree track shoes would be much better, my 15 yearold grandson loves his dirt bike and four wheeling, it makes me sick to think what can happen so quickly, best wishes and speedy recovery for him!
ReplyDeleteLaurie, I am thankful for Skylar's good drs. but he will be having another surgery on Friday.Possible skin graft. I have never thought ATV should be used by anyone younger than 18. Thank you for your prayers. xoxo,Susie

DeleteOh Susie,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear this about Skylar. How scary this guy cannot catch a break with these incidents. I am sending prayers and good healing wishes to all of you. So sorry you are going through this.
Kris
Kris, Skylar is a bit of a dare-devil...I think. He may slow down now. I have always hated the riding gismos of his. I think driving a car is enough for youngsters. Thank you so much for your prayers and good wishes. xoxo,Susie
DeletePrayers continue from here for Skylar and the family! Of course, this is not an easy time for any of you. xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteNellie, Thank you for praying for our family and Skylar. It is going to be a rough time...but together we can get through this....with my good blog family and God's help. xoxo,Susie
DeletePrayers for all of you, sweet Susie!

ReplyDeleteDiane, Thanks for keeping your pray line open for Skylar. He tough, but we know he needs God's help so much. Your prayers mean so much. xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhat a good report, but Skylar still has a way to go in his long term recovery. I think track shoes are a great idea-maybe you should give him some as a present and a hint!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Thursday.
Hugs, Noreen
Noreen, Skylar will have another surgery on Friday to close his wound, possibly a skin graft. Then it will be weeks of recovering. I know we can all pull together to get him through this ....with God's help for sure. xoxo,Susie
DeleteOoh dear Susie I'm so sorry to read about Skylar's accident and surgery, but happy to know all went well, and now the long recovery ahead....
ReplyDeleteYes, I too dislike all those ATV thingies but boys will be boys, and have to learn the hard way.

DeleteSusie, I'm so sorry to hear this. I'll be praying for Skylar's healing and for your daughter's strength and health as she cares for him.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dewena. It's been a rough week...but things are looking better, Skylar may go home today from the hospital but return next week for some follow ups. He did have the skin graft for his arm. My daughter's always been a tough girl...but she needs all of us at this time. Her husband also works and goes to school. So Karen will be handling most of the care giving...as mom's almost always do. :):) Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteOh Susie, I am so sorry to read this. I'm like you, I don't like or think those ATV's are safe. My cousins son (about Tyler's age) had a terribly bad accident too. I can't imagine all he will be going through. My prayers are with all of you. Especially that poor little guy.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Gert
Thank you for your prayers Gert. Skylar may come home today(Sat.) he had the skin graft on his arm. My daughters been with him the past town days and her husband the other days. They both work...but Karen can get family leave time...so that will help so much. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie, so glad Skylar is on the road to recovery. Yes, the dirt bikes can be dangerous. My nephew had an accident on his motorcycle many years ago, and was all buggered up. I hope Skylar has a quick recovery, and I'm thinking of him and your sister.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Sheri, I am not a fan of young people riding any of those things. I think it should be at least only 18 and up.. riding them. Skylar may come home today (Sat.) He had the skin graft on his arm and is wanting to go home. I just know it's going to be tough on my daughter. Her husband is a good caring person but he has schooling and work together. My daughter will have family leave time...that will help so much. Love you, Susie
DeleteDear Susie, so so glad to hear he is doing good thus far. Bless his heart and all of you connected to him. Will say a prayer for fast recovery.
ReplyDeleteOne of our grandsons had a bad wreck on his dirt bike several yrs ago...broke his little back and we were all so so scared he might not walk again. First we gave thanks to our Heavenly Father for the wreck not killing our boy..then we prayed constantly for his recovery. He spent many months in a body cast but he is a healthy 22 yr old now. Thanking God every single day.
xoxo
