Always In Art....

This young lady  is grown now, but my daughter Kathy used to babysit her .  She's the daughter of an art teacher that used to teach here in Tipton. Look at her precious little girl.  Kendra grew up and went to art school and received her degree. She now designs and make all types of things from recycled materials.  She was selling some of her cute thing at the sidestreet mall on Saturday.
This is her husband, sorry I didn't get his name. I asked him if he helped Kendra make things . He said he was her inspiration and her muse.  Kendra said, he was amusing.  Such a cute family.

I bought a pretty wristlet purse for my daughter Kathy. I thought she would like to have something made by one of the children she had babysat.  The tag on the purse says Pockets for Peace....some of the proceeds from Kendra's sales go to local charities.  A wonderful reason to buy.
Here we are , into our second week of December, wow.   Wishing all of you well. XO

    1. Munir, I love to see that young people are into recycling. When we were young, we never had everything and we just used things to death as my mother would say. LOL. You know when we were done...it was done. But then here I went and bought a wee little fake tree planted in an old tobacco can. ...which we would have thought as trash...even cans can have a new life. Blessings to you dear Munir. xoxo,Susie

    1. Laurie, I can barely remember this little artist. I do know that her father designed a little statue at our library...and Kendra has a degree in sculpting. That's is the news from my daughter. My daughter walks lots and I thought that wristlet would be nice for her. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  5. I'm with Carol. I love visiting you in Tipton too. How cool that you met up with Kendra and her sweet family. I'm forever meeting kids I taught in Sunday School. Most of the time I remember them, but sometimes I don't and it's very embarrassing. I know Kathy will love having something that Kendra made.

    1. Thank you Kathy. My daughter who teaches says she really feels old when she sees kids she taught...so I know what you mean. I think all my daughers sat for kids here and there. Kendra's parents were very artistic too. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. Isn't it funny when we see someone that we used to babysit when they were little? I only babysat one time in my life, and my parent's house was right down the street in case I needed anything hahaha. Her son is so cute with that curly blonde hair. That's nice that the proceeds go to charities from the items that she makes.

Enjoy this month of December, Susie!

    1. Sheri, I used to like to babysit when I was young...but most often I had to watch my siblings for free. LOL. My daughter Kathy liked this young lady...she was probably well behaved. That little curly hair sweetie is Kendra's adopted daughter. Yes her hair was like the tiniest curls. My daughter did babysit many teachers' children. Come to think of it, I babysat my science teachers kids a couple times. I love kids to pieces...but wowwee, babysitting would be a hard job these days. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Hi Honey, No that is fine...I should have thought of that plus myself. Kathy, she was so happy when I told her you sent me to look for her and get her pictures and tell her hello. It just made her seem so happy. She was so glad to talk about what was going on in her life, like living near her folks. I love you sweetheart, ,hope you liked the wristlet. Love, mommy

  12. Man how they do grow. I haven't seen my Godchild since the mid '80s. I just reconnected with her and her kids are all grown. How time has flown.

    1. Boston Boy, I bet you were a wonderful godparent. You know we see the ones near us growing, that is shocking enough...but then to see someone who may live far away all grown up...it's like, "oh no this can't be." Hug and squeeze them every chance you get...for they are growing as we speak. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
p.s. I am so happy we haven't had anymore snow for now.
