My daughter Kathy, made this beautiful scarf for me. A gift . She and I saw this style at a fair once. They were selling for around 20 dollars.
It's made with ribbons, lace , and fancy fuzzy yarns. There's also strips of thin light weight material,
Gather your choices of things and tie with bits of ribbon. You can make these any length or color. I think I will see if Kathy can make one in blues and grays. I am going to wear this tomorrow when I go to my classmate brunch. Our brunch meetings will be starting up again since winter is over. Or is it???
Yesterday morning we had sleet mixed with little flurries. It was doing this on and off all day.
Till late afternoon , early evening...the skies cleared for a bit and looked like this. So promising.
Surprise ! Then last night we had thunder snow. Yes, lightening and thunder while it was snowing. Ted's attempt to sweep the porch. Ha !
The backyard looks like this right now. Snow covered. See the blue tarp ? It's some doors Ted has brought home to help make a shed out of the little patio roofed area. It will be a potting shed for me.
Hope all of you are staying warm...you know where spring has yet to arrive , or has and disappeared . Later next week, we will be in the 60's again. Yes !! XO
that scarf is beautiful,, I have never saw one like that, I love it!!
ReplyDeleteThunder snow,, that is really something isn't it,, it did that the night my mum died,, I will never forget it,,
Laurie, If it had thunder snowed when my mom passed...I would have thought she made a fuss kicking and screaming. LOL. But then again it could be a thing to help you recall your mom's last day with you. I do remember mom's last moments. I rubbed her feet, which she always loved done..I told her she would be walking with Jesus. Strange I know, the things we remember. Hope you are having a good Saturday. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYour scarf is pretty -- and so unusual. I have never seen one like it. Oh no! More snow for you! We are to expect "significant" snow between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. today. I wish it were just all over and spring would really come. My poor flowers don't know whether to bloom or not!
ReplyDeleteKathy, These scarves are so easy to make...just using pretty things and tying them together. The sun is shining today but girl it's so cold. I am praying our flowering trees make it for a couple more day and it will become warm.Blessings, stay warm and safe. xoxo,Susie
DeleteOh no - now your weather is turning like my weather - your poor garden!!
ReplyDeleteOh bless your heart...I only have flowerbeds....I am never having a garden. Maybe a tomato plant in a bucket. LOL. I am not so good with gardens. Yes, we are cold here and I am hoping our things that are growing will survive. Stay warm, xoxo,Susie
DeleteThe scarf is beautiful. What a lovely gift from your daughter. Wow. You guys are really getting it. I like thunder snow, which I only have ever experienced about a year ago.
ReplyDeleteNonnie, My daughter is so good at sewing and crafting....makes me wish we lived closer. She and I are more alike when it comes to those things, than my other daughters. First time I had thunder snow I was shocked. :) Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteThat scarf is magical!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
Tessa
Hi Tessa, I am thinking of making some of these scarves also...they are so nice for warmer weather. Scarves seem to take the place of wearing jewelry. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteThunder snow, that's new one on me.
ReplyDeleteHi Janet, Thunder snow is a usual storm that will develop on a leading egde of a cold front..it will be snow, or hail or graupel....which is like sleet that looks white not icy. I think my grandson would be proud of me...he has a meteorology degree.:):) Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHow kind of your sweet daughter, the scarf is stunning.
ReplyDeleteNo snow in our backyard, but cold and freezing temps as of last night. Just when everything is in bloom :(
Have yourself a wonderful weekend dear Susie.
Hugs,
~Jo
JO, Thank you. I am going to wear my scarf tomorrow. I'll get a photo. The sun is out right now and pretty...but I am chilled. Hoping for a new week of warmer weather soon. The weatherman keeps promising. Blessings, stay warm, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSpring? Mother nature certainly is confused.....30 here and in a week we are expected to warm up to 55 also. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteLinda, I know what you mean about getting warmer temperatures...me too girl. I have been feeling chilly to the point I'd love a trip to Florida. Let's think Spring..maybe it'll come faster. I want it warm enough for our flowering trees to bloom...they are so close. Blessings and hugs, love you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteLinda, I think your predicted temperatures sound like ours too. Oh my gosh I am ready...I have felt so cold the past few days. Won't it be nice to sit out in the sun. Or on the porch and smell fresh air. Hope you are doing well today. I have just said my prayers for you. Blessings my friend, xoxo, love, Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Susie, Spring was hiding today in our area, but we didn't have any snow. Just the wind blowing which made it seem colder. I have enjoyed catching up with you and see what you have been doing. Take care. Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend Shirley
ReplyDeleteShirley, I think we are all tired of the wind...it's blown all the blossoms off my neighbor's fruit trees. I am hoping you really can enjoy your summertime with your g.son. I remember watching mine while his mom had classes to take. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHi Susie! Thank you for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteOur weather is weird, too. It's raining and I thought I heard thunder.
A potting shed will be nice!
Hi , So glad to be able to visit with you. I am hoping we can all enjoy some spring weather before the heat of summer gets here. LOL...I guess you see, I don't like super cold or super hot..I love 65-70 degrees.. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteOh the scarf is lovely and you look so pretty when you wear scarves...they go with the clothes you wear and with your hair. BRRRrrr! It sure looks frigid! Put that scarf on to stay warm! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI'll try to get a picture with this scarf on tomorrow...Monday will be our first classmate brunch for this year. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeletePretty scarf! I can't believe everyone well north of us is getting snow. HaHa!!
ReplyDeleteLaurie...I would really be whining if we had the snow that went thru Michigan...Ours has already melted...since the sun was out most all of Saturday. Today is cloudy but to be warmer(Sunday). That's ok with me. Blessings for a good day. xoxo,Susie
DeleteOhhh, a potting shed would be lovely! Up here in Ontario, the weather is c-c-c-cold and we are all getting tired of snow. I think the temperatures are supposed to go up later this week. Get the lawn chairs out!! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteJenn, Oh my gosh you sound like me...when I hear it's suppose to be around 50 degrees I tell my husband I am going to lay out. LOL..I don't ever do that any more...but I do like to sit in the sun for about 10-15 minutes....get that vitamin "D"We got a bit spoiled early into spring...because it was up to the 70's some days. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWow, I've never seen a scarf like that. Your daughter is so creative, Susie. The girls love scarves. I don't like things around my neck, but I wouldn't mind wearing one like this that is lightweight.
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I love to see snow pics at your home, Susie. Ted is such a great guy always tidying things up around your place.
Have a nice Sunday.
~Sheri
Oh, it's raining here this weekend, and I'm lovin' it. :)
DeleteFabulous scarf, Susie! You're going to love your potting shed. Can't wait to see it! Hugs, Nancy
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy. I should have posted the picture of the insides of the little shed by our wood pile....Ted has totally taken over on it ..so I can barely find my garden tools. So oh yes, I know I will love a potting shed. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
