Foggy Friday....

The fog is lifting...but it was really dense this morning.  We can almost see a mile , it's 8:00 am.
Ted's hitching up his trailer. Has all his wood cutting tools packed up. He will be cutting wood with our SIL , today.  They will cut wood that can be seasoned for winter wood burning.  It's actually some trees that have been down in a lot at my daughter Karen's house.  So the fellows will have wood for winter and Karen will have all that cleaned up from her little farm plot.
Wanted to show you the Japanese maple near the house. It's a dwarf tree, but I will trim limbs if needed .  I love to mix this burgundy color with greens.
It's been a busy week here and not much of great importance going on at this time.  So I truly need to get out of the house and do something fun or adventurous. I have a project I could work on. If I do that I will take photos. :):)
We have had rain on and off and more to come this weekend with storms. I think our April showers are going to be coming here at the very end of the month and continue on into May.  I am hoping it ends this week. I know many farmers want into their fields. Our neighbor man has been on top of every nice day, so he is doing well.
Enjoy this beautiful Friday everyone.  I hope it's a good day for all. XO

    1. Hi Kathy, There are a couple things I want to do....like paint some things out side. A bench and a planter wagon. Some gray days zap my motivation. LOL. I know you are anxious to get your little garden areas in shape. It will be nice to sit out in the warm air and enjoy the birds singing. Blessings to you and Joe, xoxo, Susie

  2. I love fog - if I don't have to drive in it!
Your place looks so neat and tidy! You will be happy to hear that Louis Dean is really and truly getting the back yard cleaned up. He felt so overwhelmed the other day - he bought a storage building instead building one as he has purposed to do for two years now. He bought it online and Sherry will help him put it together. This means he had to clear off a place to put it!! This is the most organized I have ever seen him!!

We have firewood for next fall and winter from our elm tree. It's all piled up along the back fence line and not chopped up into logs yet....but we have wood!! Happy Friday to you, our little Susie Q!!!

    1. Linda, You guys sound like Ted and I...we can't bear to have messes , and we sure do not want others to see them if we do. LOL. Yes, I think Ted and Matt are cutting elm logs today. The older I get the more I want to organize also. It only I could twitch my nose. Blessings, love you, xoxo, Susie

    1. BJ, You must be far from all the Texas rains. It's a pity all the rains can be spread out to the places that need it .I do hope you get some in your area. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. Fog is great ... if you are inside. Driving in it is awful! He Japanese maple is so pretty. Would like to have one, but nowhere to put it. You know, we don't have to have something exciting going on all the time. I'm happy with ordinary days. We are having so much rain and my concern for farmers in Texas is the horrible hail and what it did to their plantings.

    1. Nonnie, I can like fog and snow if I don't think about people having to be out in it. :) Yes, all that rain, hail and bad weather, seems to be isolated in the same areas of Texas that got hit last time. I have been caught out in a hail before , but I sure would not want to be hit by those huge hail stones.Scary. Nonnie, I am done with my big adventure today...I scrubbed the shower walls. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  8. That Japanese maple is beautiful, Susie! We've had bright blue skies with puffy white clouds, but it's still cold enough to need a jacket. Still, everything is greening up and that's a wonderful sign! Have a great weekend. xo

    1. Judy I don't mind a sweater or jacket....most often we never get to wear our nice jackets. LOL.It is getting very leafy around here. I am amazed at how quickly the leaves appear once we have some warm days. The rain did help too. Blessings for a fun weekend, xoxo, Susie

    1. Tessa, We once had a light green Japanese maple...nursed it for 5 years...too many spring deep freezes did it in. We had two other burgundy ones that get stunted from frost. I think this one is so nice because the house protects it some. Hope you have a great weekend, blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Laurie, Glad you came by. That fog lifted pretty quick after 8:00...but so dense and scary when people are on their way to work or school. Hope your weekend is a good one and that you get sunshine. xoxo, Susie

  13. I have to admit that sometimes I am envious of the wide open spaces around you. You have to go 30 miles or so west from here to get away from metropolitan Boston and 4.5 million people in the area. We are crammed together here. Tomorrow, Sat. is the big day and then I can truly say, I am outta here!
PS Once I get settled in in my new abode I will be back on a regular basis. And thanks for your comments.

    1. Hi Jan, Glad you wrote back, as your comment now is the only one from you. That fog was lifted by the Ted left the driveway. So happy about that. I get almost claustrophobic in fog while on the road. Yikes. I really should have shown our other two maples...so darn tiny from the deep freezes stunting their growth. Blessings for a nice weekend, xoxo, Susie
