Copy Catting......

I tried to do a copy cat of Carol's display over at Art and Sand...You all know she is a wonderful stylist. She can arrange her whole house in a short time. She's very clever with her designs . She showed us blue and white dishes yesterday....well I thought, "Oh how cute, I am going to try that. "
It's a gray day here and the lighting is awful. I tried no lights, then turned on the dining room lights. Talk about copying...I saw a little cow pitcher at Linda's  itsy bits and pieces, then just had to have one. LOL
I had a blue willow dish and cup, old white platter, blue/white ball, fake candle, old pitcher, and some faux forsythia. With dining room lights.
Without the  lights, and changing up the cow creamer and sphere on the little yellow pedestal.  I tried the candle in the teacup for many shots.

Put the sphere on top of the candle, flipped the pedestal and put the cup on it. Put the pitcher in back with the plate.
This is how I left it. I think this will work for a week or two...then onto another vignette. I must tell Carol coping isn't as easy as I thought it would be. :):) But it was fun.
Rain in our forecast today and tomorrow. Bummer...we do not need it. Ted has mowed twice in one week.  Hope you are safe today. Please send good thoughts or prayers for those who have been in the floods or tornadoes.  XO

  2. Good job. You are so cute! I wish she would come visit me and rearrange things. Things have been the same here for 13 years. (With a few small exceptions, that is.)

    1. Nonnie, Some people just have the knack to pull anything together. I know what I like...but at times it's hard to explain or make it work. LOL. My gosh, you made me laugh...if I find a way that things work, I will usually leave it that way forever. :):) When I was younger, I used to move my furniture around all the time. Now I move items...not that heavy furniture. :):)_Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Laurie, It strange that I have lots of blue and white things to decorate with and rarely use them. My best china is blue and white. Yes, Ted said, he thought the lawn man over did the fertilizer. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Ssie

    1. Diane, The weather seems to be in all the wrong places any more. I know that Texas has huge amounts of rain...but one blog friend in Texas says they could use some rain, as the wind is blowing dust around. It's been a crazy weather year so far. Hope you do not get too hot too soon. I wish that here also. Blessings, to you and your husband, xoxo, Susie

  12. Very pretty and springy! Blue and white is what we chose for our dishes when we actually picked out dishes for ourselves, as opposed to using the dishes my mother earned in grocery store points back in the day!! -Jenn

  16. Yes, I like the last arrangement. I wish I could do settings like that but my laptop lives on my table right now along with a bunch of papers so I am out of luck. It is still so cold and gloomy here....warming up by weeks' end tho.

  17. Hi Susie and I apologize for being unable to comment lately - computer problems! This is a pretty vignette. I love the cow creamer but do not have one yet! I wish I had the knack for decorating. We are having thunderstorms today and the house is kinda dark and dreary. God bless your evening.

  18. Love all these blue and white pieces, Susie. For some reason, the blue china is the prettiest to me. My wedding china was even in blue.

It's very windy here yesterday. Oh yes, I heard about the tornadoes, Yikes!

    1. Sheri, When I was a kid , I always thought blue willow was such a pretty pattern. I have something like it, called blue heron. That's my good china. I had fun playing with this little vignette. We went to the basement , last night(Sunday) tornado warnings. Thankfully everything just went over and no damage. Blessings, love you, xoxo, Susie

  19. OH, Susie,

May you never grow beyond that wonderful childhood creativity to "Play with things." It's such a blessing to keep finding new beauty in stuff we've had and used and put away and thought of again. And going around the house to "find" things is like a sweet treasure hunt, discovering wonderful items to go together, or set each other off, or just because you got a yen to live with them some more.

What a lovely study in blue and white---the yellow adds a bright note of sunshine, as well.

Hope y'all are drying out---we are, and we spent a wonderful afternoon at Lawrence Central's performance of The Music Man.

    Stay happy,

    rachel
