The neighbor's apricot tree in bloom. The wind has blown the blossoms all over, making it look like it's snowing out. It's the first tree in bloom around here. Our redbud, weeping cherry and crabapple are getting ready to bloom out.
In the parking lot where the framers' market will set up in a couple more months.
A flowering tree at the Kemp Methodist Church. This is the church that plays bells at noon and 5:00 in the afternoon. I love hearing them.
. We are having rain, wind ,and chilly temps. Today I went to lunch with my daughter and her son. It was a nice time, even though Jake had to get back to his job. This was my daughter's spring break from teaching. We did get a few hours together on Monday and about an hour today. We used to go to the movies at least once when she had break. School will be out in a couple months...so we will have many fun times together then. Can't wait.
Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend. Be safe. XO
the trees look absolutely beautiful, and so many of them!!!
ReplyDeleteI think everyone is having a cool down,,I hope you don't get to cold there or the blossoms might be effected,
you have so much fun with your girls,,
Laurie, My mom would want every one of those flowering trees in her yard. LOL. I always laughed when she would say, "oh I wish I had that tree." I think this is one of those springs where we are experiencing any and all types of weather and temps. Crazy. Yes, Laurie, I am blessed with my daughters. All good hard working citizens and good hearts. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHow lucky you are to have kids there to do things with...as I do, too.
ReplyDeleteYour area has really come alive with Spring. We still have some snow and more coming tonight they said. ugh. I want GREEN GROWING things!!!
Have a wonderful weekend- xo Diana
Diana, My oldest daughter still lives in our hometown. So she and I have always been able to do many things together. Oh I know you must truly be ready for some spring temperatures. I am hoping this is the last chilly weekend. You know those pansies I bought...they are still in the flats...only plant a few of them...it's been too chancy since I bought them. Blessings to all of you Diana. I am sending you extra hugs, I know you are carrying a heavy load at times. Love you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHi Susie, the spring flowering trees seem extra pretty to me this year. I just love them! Our weather turned really chilly today and it was strange with showers one minute and the next we had sunshine. I'll be so happy when it warms up enough to plant some flowers in the pots!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
Cheryl, Our spring started so nicely...then it went crazy...our weather has flip flopped daily. Sunny, rainy, chilly, windy, frosty mornings. Threats of snow flurries..but thankfully that has not happened. I am so ready to finishing planting my pansies. I held off after the freeze warnings. Here's wishing you a good weekend and some good weather. xoxo,Susie
DeleteBeautiful flowering trees, Susie! So nice that you get to spend time with your daughter, fun, I'm sure! Blessings, Cindy xo
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, Our flowering trees do not last long especially in high winds. It looked like snow when the neighbor's apricot trees blossoms were flying around in the wind. Hugs to you and yours, xoxo,Susie
DeleteMy brother had an apricot tree and I got lots of fruit from it for a couple of years until a storm took it down! I wish we had planted a few fruit trees back when I first moved into this house more than 50 years ago now!
ReplyDeleteI spent the entire day today with my daughter, Amber! We met for lunch and then she came home with me and we watched movies all afternoon long!! I had her to myself (no quads!) for nearly 9 hours! The other set of grandparents had the kids and Mike came over here after he got off work and watched the last movie with us! LD picked up burgers and fries for all of us! It was the best day!!! I know you enjoy spending time with your daughters just like I do!!!
Linda, I know that feeling of wishing trees had been planted...we could have done more out here too. I did plant a lot of dwarf trees. I have never planted a fruit tree...now I am wondering why. Maybe we all should this year. I know Amber needs those brief breaks from the demands on mommyhood. We know it can be tiring. It sure doesn't mean we don't love our babies ...I have gone on vacation to be away from mine for a while and then can't wait to get back to them. I am so thankful your children have you...you understand. Blessings, xoxo, love you, Susie
DeleteWhat a fun day Linda C had with her daughter...I sure enjoy mine too.'
ReplyDeleteLove apricots. Use to make jam when we lived up North.. Lots of apricot and peach orchards.
Wanda, I think true moms love time with their children...all thru their lives. We used to be served apricot cobbler in school....I always loved that. Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI took pictures of trees the other day too. They are so pretty this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI bet your daughter loves spring break!
Cindy Bee
Cindy, My daughter was so looking forward to having her break. She did enjoy most of it. BUt she also did the family taxes during this time. Her husband 's withholding was messed up and now they have to pay a big amount too. She got him straight on withholding. I always told my daughters to never claim anyone, not even themselves, and have a small percentage taken out also. Better Uncle Sam owes you than you ever owe him. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteOoooh I hope you post photos of your trees when they bloom - I'll have to enjoy yours since I don't have any of those lovely trees!!! I must plant a redbud somewhere on my property - I do love them so!
ReplyDeleteI think you garden near your shed would look great with a redbud, especially if you are going to have a seating area. I will get shots of our flowering trees if the wind doesn't blow them off as soon as the flowers open. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWe lived next door to a church when I was growing up and I loved their bells so much. I miss that, now. Yep, summer time allows us so much more fun time with our kids and grands....
ReplyDeleteBJ, I could listen to those bells and enjoy them everyday. I also loved hearing the Catholic school bell ring at 8 in the mornings for school to start.I could hear that from my house. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
Deletep.s. hope you had a great time with your visiting grandson
I love flowering trees to look at but boy do they do a number on my allergies. I know the weather has been crazy, but it usually is here this time of the year. May is a much nicer month.
ReplyDeleteOh Kathy, so sorry you have allergies...that does make it hard to enjoy some pretty things. Today it snow sideways with a 40 mile an hour wind...gee-zoo. It was kind of scary actually. Hope we have fun weather soon. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteThat tree is beautiful! I can't wait for spring to start happening here. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteJenn, I am hoping our spring weather returns this week. Today is very cold. My lilacs has little leaves and I hope they doesn't get killed from the cold over night. Hope your spring arrives soon too. I love the beautiful trees...we had wind gust over 5 miles an hour yesterday...I bet all the pretty blossoms are gone. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI simply love seeing those flowering trees in the early spring. Doesn't it renew your spirit !
ReplyDelete~Jo
Jo, Flowering trees look so delicate. It's wonderful to walk pass one and catch a beautiful fragrance. Blessings for a great new week ahead. xoxo,Susie
DeleteOh how I miss hearing the church bells Susie! We used to hear them too from the Methodist Church at other Texas home. I'll bet you are ready for the Farmer's Market! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThese's just something so sweet about church bells for me. I love hearing the seasonal holiday tunes that the Kemp Methodist bells play. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI don't believe I've ever seen an apricot tree in bloom. The crab apple outside my window is like a white tutu and I wish I had time to just sit and look out the window before it turns green. So fleeting, but I guess that's why we treasure this time so much.
ReplyDeleteDewena, You are right the beauty of flowering trees is a short one...but oh that wonderful view and the scent ..it's heaven. Bless you, as you move to your new home..you will have a much longer season for flowers. xoxoxo,Susie
DeleteThose are so beautiful. We don't have any Apricot trees around here and that one is gorgeous. Hope it hasn't been to cold on you this weekend. We've had cold, north winds and frost this morning. I hope you have a nice week. Hugs and Love, xo
ReplyDeleteSusie, This apricot has the tiniest fruit. It's almost winter like again. I am so ready for our spring to return. March was way warmer than this. Blessings to you dear girl, xoxo,Susie
DeleteBeautiful flowering trees. Spring is in the air. I miss my apple trees...they died last year, so no flowering trees in my back yard...sigh. Enjoy your spring, it comes and goes so quickly. I think we are still having winter here. Yesterday was weird. It snowed, then the sun came out, snowed again then the sun came out....strange.
ReplyDeleteLouise, I am sorry to read about your apple trees dying. I hope we do get some lovely spring weather before all the heat of summer gets here. Saturday was the same weather you described. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI love the tree. I bet the sound of the bells is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI think if I lived near the church...I would open my windows more just to hear those bells. Valerie, I hope you are enjoying spring...ours seems to have turned to winter again. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteBeautiful time of year with all the trees beginning to bloom. We have had strong wind all weekend, too. I look forward to shopping at our farmer's market soon.
ReplyDeleteI am ready to see our spring weather return and getting out to the park, town and library. Farmer's market will be nice too. Blessings, hope you are well. xoxo,Susie
