While I was having fits of craziness this week (previous post), spring was doing it's thing . The crabapple has bloomed.
This tree is covered in blossoms. it smells nice too. The apples on it are about the size of a cherry.
The weeping willow is very green with lots of streamers. The spirea is turning green also.
Can you see the little line along the driveway? It's the blossoms from the weeping cherry tree.
Lots of soft pink petals. makes me feel like royalty walking done to get the mail. LOL
The weeping cherry is leafing out. so green now. It's a light shade of green .
Caught the bus dropping off our neighbor boy. He's a great kid. Sharp as a tack too.
This is the mulch that Ted and I put in the flowerbeds on Thursday while waiting for the bug man. You can see it's a course mixture. Not to my liking, but it was given to Ted . I think he just heard "free" and was all for it. :):) It was a full trailer load , we were a bit sore from shoveling and raking it.
My pansies are starting to look a bit nicer too. I will want more color for summer. So I better get busy deciding what I want to plant. I am not putting anything in the ground, flower wise. Don't trust that all the rabbits are gone. While mulching I found a rabbit's nest. It was grasses and fur from the mom rabbit. The babies have moved on. The neighbor live trapped one. So has Ted.
Well today is a bit calmer than this past week. Yippee on that. Going to be 67 here today and possibly 80 tomorrow. Hope all of you are doing well. Get outside if you can and enjoy the good weather. XO
Isn't spring wonderful? I love seeing all the trees leafing out. Your pictures are beautiful. I wish I could go outside today but it's raining and cold. Maybe tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteKathy, My sister Brenda came out today and we were talking about much we love spring. We want to enjoy every nice day ...no ready for any high temperatures. I love summer but hate when it's too hot too soon. You can rest today while it rains there and then be ready to garden when the sun returns. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLovely blooming...
ReplyDeleteNext door, gets bunnies, every spring. Dumb momma bunny because they have a dog. :-(
Next year, they will spray around with some sort of a rabbit repellent. Yish!
Enjoy your weekend. The Full Moon was last night. ,-)
Tessa
Tessa, I would that a rabbit would never build a nest near dogs...isn't that strange. I know that animals do not like the smell of moth balls...but then neither do we.LOL. Hope your weekend is pretty and relaxing. Bless you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie, The crabapple tree is so delicate and pretty. Crabapple jelly would be tasty! I hope you will enjoy this nice Saturday.
ReplyDeleteMildred, I don't think our little cherry sized apples would make any jelly. But our aunt Ruth had a crabapple tree and the fruit was about the size of a tennis ball. My Kathy loved them. Blessings for a great Saturday and a restful Sunday. xoxo, Susie
Deletei love flowering trees. Wish they lasted longer. Have a relaxing weekend.
ReplyDeleteDebby, That is the very sad part of flowering trees...they just don't last near long enough. I am relaxing this afternoon. My chores are done, went to a yard sale with my sister. Served her a nice lunch. walked around the yard looking at the trees and plants. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteGorgeous photos!! I'm off to the garden center in search of an ornamental tree - I love your crabapple and weeping willow, two of my favorites!!
ReplyDeleteI think you ittle sitting area near your potting shed would look great with a crabapple tree. Do not plant any weeping willows near your septic systems or finger systems. Their roots truly seek water sources...so I have heard. LOL. You are the real gardener, I bet you know what is true or not. Blessings for a great Saturday . xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh Wow, spring has finally sprung and there's nothing more beautiful than a crab apple tree in bloom. It's awfully pretty here too. Happy Spring, Hope you have a nice weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteHi Susie, This past week it has been spring...I hoope it stays and doesn't go off into summer right away. I like the milder warm temps. Hope you are doing well. I think of you often, have your book on my coffee table. Blessings, xoxo, love you, Susie
DeleteYour garden is looking so colorful and inviting !
ReplyDeleteLove those little pansies, such sweet flowers.
Happy Spring to you dear friend.

~Jo
Hi Jo, I am enjoying today so much. Already have my chores done, I can sit out and write letters. I love to be outside while it so peaceful and nice. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Deletesuch beautiful spring photos!!!glad things calmed down for you,,lol,
ReplyDeletelife can be crazy sometimes but most times we make it so,,,,lol,,,,
Laurie, You are right. We can go bazaro crazy when things happen or we can roll with the punches. Some times I just go crazy. LOL....but I don't get mean. LOL. I tried to be thankful and count my blessings even when I felt like crying. Bless you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie, I love all your lovely trees. Wish I had more blooming trees, but I do have lots of flowers and roses going. Guess I should take a pic before the roses drop off. The crepe myrtles will then be blooming.
ReplyDeleteI had a crazy week, too.
Thank you Nonnie. I did read your post ....I know I am not the only one who has woes...we are all human and each gets their share. This pretty day and the trees and sunshine is surely helping me return to a fun spirit. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie, the weather is just right to get out and plant some flowers. Your pansies are pretty. We are having daisies planted in my garden on Monday. You have a rabbit family living close by? The crabapple trees are so pretty. Can you eat the fruit - I've never heard of an apple the size of a cherry? I always smile when I see Ted's green lawn. He really keeps up the place.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice and relaxing weekend, Susie.
love, ~Sheri
Sheri, I think my pansies are stnted because of being in the pots so long before getting planted. No you can eat the fruit from this flowering crabapple. It's just for show and the apple are so tiny...birds eat them in the fall of winter if they can't find food. Ted mowed late Friday evening and will have to mow again on Tuesday. the treatment we go this year with the rain has really made the grass thick. It looks so pretty once it's mowed too. Our neighbors mow to the roots of their lawns. You are suppose to mow at 3 inches and mow a new direction every time. Hope your weekend has been nice, Love you, blessings to all, xoxo, Susie
DeleteEverything looking good around your place...things here are shaping up, too. Windy...it's always windy here in spring but we generally have lovely summers.
ReplyDeletexoxo
BJ, I have been loving this good weather. Hoping our summer isn't real hot. 70 degrees is plenty. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThe crabapple tree is gorgeous! I love all the spring blooming trees. They just don't last long enough! It was a wonderful warm day here and I got some planting done. Your pansies are so pretty, I have never planted them. Not sure why because I've always liked them. Have a nice Sunday!
ReplyDeleteCheryl, You are right all the beautiful flowering trees do not last near long enough. These pansies needed to be thicker...I think they were stunted in their little black plastic pots before I got them in my containers. LOL. All that in and out while the weather could not decide to be warm or cold. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt sure looks like Spring has arrived at your house, Susie. Still getting freezing temps at night up here, and no flowers yet. Love seeing all of your flowering trees! So pretty! Your yard looks great!!!
ReplyDeleteLove to you, dear friend.
Debbie
xo
Hi my friend, I was thrilled when spring finally arrived here . Debbie, I heard on TV today not to get too far head on planting flowers as Indiana's weather could change till mother's day. Hope you get some warmer weather too. Blessings to all your family and you, xoxo, love you , Susie
DeleteYour blooming trees and plants all look so good! I just love this time of the year. Everything looks so new and fresh.
ReplyDeletejudy
