Aww Some Rain....

We got a small shower yesterday afternoon. It did not last long but was appreciated.
I rolled up the rug this time, so it would not get wet. Think I'll leave it rolled up for a couple days or so.
This is something I did while it was raining. Played with making a new table scape.
I used some of a small cow collection I have. Some green and white things.
This cow stands on a sign that says, "A day in the country is worth a month in town". That's more country-fied than I would think. :):)
This is how I left it for now. A green ball canning jar, a cow salt shaker(I only have the one),white platter , green leafy wreath,  cow on sign, tea candle holder , green saucer  and two tiny cows tied together. Now I think I need a nice napkin under it all. :)
We watched a movie yesterday. Later we cleaned up the hummingbird feeders and filled them. Today we will be cleaning up Ted's truck...I told him it smelled dirty while riding to town yesterday before the rain. I know there were ten thousand dead bugs on the windshield.
Wishing all a relaxed Sunday. XO

  1. We have plenty of rain. I am amazed at how wet it is for August. I believe we are predicted to get about 4-7 inches by Tuesday. I see lots of flooding headed our way.

  3. Susie, I love your deck and the tablescape even more. I like the way you have potted plants on the bench. I must be find one of those. I've just not really been into doing the decor since our move. Crazy, but I just haven't known where to begin. Hopefully when I'm done with the little one, I'll be able to get my groove back.

    1. Bonnie, My husband made the bench from some old beat up boards. I have painted it twice. Things on my porch have a few coats of paint. LOL...I just feel like a different color and I paint right over the old layer. You probably feel like relaxing before doping to much decorating...you've kind of had your hands full. You will be making your home like you want in due time. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. Nice tablescape. Admire your enthusiasm. I do well to put something in the center of the table that can stay from season to season.

  6. Love your tablescape. I'm glad you're getting some showers. We had a heavy rain on Friday, the first we've had in a while. I hate it so bad for some that's getting flooded. Hope you have a nice week. xoxo

  8. Susie, I love that saying...."a day in the country is worth a month in town." I believe this is true, and I just took a drive in the country this morning. I like your table setting, and the green canning jar is pretty. Just a little change makes all the difference. Susie, your front porch with the rain looks pretty. I love the rain! Just unwinding after the wedding festivities and visiting my favorite blogs today.

    1. Sheri, I love that you enjoy riding thru the country. Today Ted and I took a new route home and OMG the road was like a pothole test ground. We laughed about it and swore never again will we go that way. LOL. Some times when it rains and if it isn't blowing , I will sit out where I don't get wet and smell the rain. I love that smell when the rain hits the dusty roads....it's a summer smell to me and takes me back to my childhood. Blessings to you sweet girl, xoxo, Susie

  9. We have only gotten a trace of rain, but are grateful for that. So many are flooding, and its moving this way slowly. Hope you stay safe as well. Used to have a cow collection years ago. Loved them in my kitchen. Hope you got the stink out of the truck.

    1. Tete, We have had some rain and I told Ted not to dump the rain gauge so we can see how much in the next few days. I am praying for the places that are flooding. Totally unbelievable amounts of rain. I have about 6 little cow things...I read once if you have three of something it's a collection. :):) Ted washed to floor mats of his truck and we did the carpet..yes, that make a huge difference. You know those nose blind commercials..well that's men .LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  10. Cute tablescape. It looks so country and has an end of the summer feeling. We need rain, but haven't gotten any except for a quick shower here and there. We need a good soaking. It is HOT here and so humid. But the ground is dry.

    1. Kathy, I think you may get some of this rain if it will move out while pulling moisture from the south. This has been a hot summer the last two months. I will say we have had a cool down finally...the last two days it's been in the 70's not 90's. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  11. Susie, wish we could get a little rain to cool off some, but that doesn't happen to much on the west coast. Your table display is very cute and summery. Love the green and white theme..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
