Chasing Butterflies....

I saw this butterfly in our pine trees....so I go in and get my camera. You know as soon as I tried to get his photo he flies off to the ditch across the road. I chase after him . Got a good shot.
By now the camera lens is foggy over from the humidity.
I wipe the lens and get one more good picture.  What a beauty.  I smile every time I see a butterfly.
This is Tuesday 's sunset.  We've been busy around here. Found time for a bit of fun. Ate lunch out yesterday. Today we have a couple runs to do.  I have a mission...haul things to goodwill stores and then go inside and look around. :):)
Wishing all of you a great day. XO

  1. I love butterflies but don't see many in my current world. Glad to know they're still around.

    1. Linda, I love chasing them for pictures but would not catch one...I tried to catch many as a child. Now I know their lives are short and they need to be free. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. LOL- glad to know I am not the only nut that chases butterflies! I can see you ditch hopping. We would really make fine neighbors. Good luck at Goodwill (we call it GW Boutique here). Hoping you take more in than you walk out with. I have problems with that, you know. Have a great weekend and hang in there- the weather channel says that cooler is coming and some rain. Maybe 2 inches even- we so need it. Hugs.

    1. Tete, You made me laugh about the goodwill...my mom used to call it Goodies, and she loved that place. We got 1/4 inch rain and the town 5 miles away got over and inch of rain last night. We are to have more...I am hoping so. Ted and I talk this morning about taking a few bags every week to the Goodwill. Feels so good to be rid of stuff. I spent 6 dollars. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
      p.s. wish we were neighbors.:)

  3. I love your butterflies and sunsets! I took a picture of a butterfly the other day and the kids told me it was a moth! I still don't believe them. It's funny how we take stuff in and carry out more stuff. I think next week Texas might get back into the 90's with some rain. I am hoping.

    1. Nonnie, I love butterflies...but think moths have pretty markings too. I took lots more into the goodwill than I bought. LOL. We are going to try to take a few bags every time we go to Kokomo ...it feels great to get rid of things. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. Oh, you make me laugh, Susie. At least when you shop at Good Will, you donate things also. That butterfly is so pretty. I can see why you were chasing it trying to get a picture. And your sunset pictures are spectacular!

Have a good rest of the week, dear.

  10. Hi Susie,

Well I had a comment ready to go but couldn't get it to post. Who knows why! I think it's funny about Good Will. You do like I used to do. Drop off and shop!
I feel for you with your tooth situation. I have a situation with a sensitive tooth too. I've been to the endodontist twice, and just went to my dentist Monday morning because that tooth hurt for three days last week. Nothing wrong! And btw, I was told x-rays do not show cracks in teeth. I am always in tooth pain it seems.
    Have a nice evening.

    1. Cindy, I knew there had to people out there that understood my tooth situation. It's getting to be a big pain...to the point I am thinking of having a root canal in every tooth in my head. LOL. But then again...I think that molar root canal might have been the true problem all along. I am just tired of it. I hope you got some good results from your last visit to the dentist. Some times the G.W. doesn't have much to choose from.Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  11. Love the photos of the Eastern tiger swallowtail butterfly! That is our state butterfly in Georgia. Do you know what your state butterfly is? Hey, it might be the same one! xx

    1. Kay, I liked learning that my butterfly pic is your state butterfly... I look our up on line...there were many photos ..but a story of a group of second graders in Lafayette, Indiana want to firefly to be our state incest...I guess we do not have one. I love the little mating dance of the butterflies...it looks like all it needs is music. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Gert, The clover in the ditch must be more appealing than my flowers. LOL. That's where I get the butterfly photos. This year some of my flowers didn't bloom...like my hydrangea. The neighbor's lilac didn't she even had an oriental lilac ..she said he didn't bloom the last two years. Maybe we need more butterflies and bees. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
