Wednesday it started to rain. It did not rain much after this first 3 minute quick downpour. It rain fast and left a dry spot by the post...amazing. It did rain more in the wee hours of Thursday.
But by ten o'clock the skies were clearing.
Once the clouds were gone, the sky was clear and the day was pretty. I did wash my windows this week. Saw some streaking later when the sun hit spots . :( I'll go over them again.
The geraniums are still doing well. No frost yet. It was a high of 62 on Thursday. Which is the kind of temperatures I like.
This Friday morning's sunrise. Today will be a good day also. There's only a couple of fields of corn and soybeans left to harvest along our road. So harvest around our area has been going strong.
Ted is already out the door this morning , getting blood work for his yearly heart check up. That check up will be in two weeks. Really always good to have that done for the year.
Fall is going quickly , it seems, yet our trees around here have not turned much. It is almost peak season for the leaf viewing in the state parks.
Thanking all of you again for your kind words and prayers, for my daughter. Wishing all of you a beautiful weekend. XO
What a weird little rain there! lol We are just starting to peak here in color, too. Another couple of weeks and all we will see is bare limbs. I love the colors of fall but not the bleakness that comes after the leaves are gone.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Friday, Susie- xo Diana
Diana, I totally agree about the bareness after the leaves all fall...not much color around then. I may have to buy flowers every week during winter this year...just to keep myself perked up. LOL. Enjoy the weekend. Hope you will send me your new address once you move. Blessings, love you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteOur trees are still green too. We have a few more weeks before they turn around here. Love that sunrise this morning.
ReplyDeleteKathy, I think we have had a crazy weather pattern this whole year. These sweet days of 60 degree weather and sunshine...perfect !! Blessings for a fun filled weekend, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHave a lovely weekend! I love that sunrise ♥
ReplyDeleteSummer , I wish you a great weekend too. The weather here is cooler...but I love it. Sunshine all day. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThose little rain showers are nice and I like the pic of sunrise. I saw this quote on someone's blog a while ago. "The sky is the daily bread of the eyes." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
ReplyDeleteHope all is well for your Ted. My husband had blood work yesterday, too and has a CT scan next week. Blessings for a good weekend.
Nonnie, I like that Emerson saying. I will be saying a pray for your husband's scan to be good. Ted has had a heart check up every year since he had the stent out in at 48. He has done very well all these years and I want to keep him around a long time.:) Hope your weekend is fun and peaceful. xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie, glad to know that all is well with your daughter. Waiting is so hard. Unchanged is wonderful! When I had geraniums, they stayed beautiful for a long time with little care. I can remember at the nursing home that I worked finally pulling them up because it was getting close to winter. But in Georgia, our Falls are like Spring. My Azaleas are even blooming here in TN> Is that not crazy. You are such a sweet precious lady. Always thankful for your kind words.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I have lived in Indiana all my life, so I am used to the changes in season...but the older I get the less I like winter. Honey, thank you for those kind words. I think it helps us to know we are not alone in certain situations. Our lives look okay when someone is looking right at us...but then inside our hearts and homes...we something are putting on a happy face when we may even feel like crying. I would hug you if I could whenever you feel sad ...since I can't be there, I try to send hugs with my words. You are so like me at times. :):) Blessings to you girl stay strong, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI was just thinking of your daughter....hope you will post news when you have it. Your sunrise and sunset photos are always so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Honey, You must have missed my extra post ..Karen called me when she got home from her scan and finally getting to go eat...The scan showed the node had not changed in any way, so that was good news. All the sweet prayers and good thoughts from all of you surely helped her. Thank you so much. I love to take sunrise and sunset pictures. I am just not situated in the right are for the best shots at times. Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSpectacular sunrise Susie, beautiful promises for the day to come...
ReplyDeleteWe need rain, we are parched..
Have a wonderful weekend dear friend, and keeping my fingers crossed, all goes well for your sweet daughter.
Hugs,
~Jo
Jo, Karen's scan showed no change in that node...so we are taking that as a good report. She will have another scan in 6 months. I wish everyone who needs rain could get just enough. The bit of rain and cooler temps saved me from watering for a day. :):) I think if it frost the flowers will take a big hit...as I rarely cover things. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHappy Friday Susie. Enjoy the week end.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you after this long week. So happy the news on your daughter is good and hopefully Ted will have a good health report too.
Kris
Hi Kris, Thank you for always wishing me a good weekend. I wish you the same. I was happy about my Karen's news. Nana Diana told me her John had them and that they were just nodes...no danger most times. The past few years have made me more aware of how our health can change so quickly. Ted's heart exam is every year around this time. He's had a yearly check up since he got a stent at age 48. He's a pretty healthy fellow...I want him to stay that way. :):) Blessings to you, Terry and your family. xoxo, Susie
DeleteI have been missing my visits here! I shall have to go back and catch up to see what's going on with your daughter!
ReplyDeleteCooler weather comes in fits and spurts now. 90's are still in the forecast for a day or two next week!
Linda, It's hard to believe the 90's are a cool down. LOL. But in some states I guess that's true. I know you love your fall seasons and I am hoping for a very long fall and thus a short winter.:):) Blessings to all of you, love, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWe got the same little rain here. I was hoping for a gully washer because we desperately need it. I'm ready for fallish temps to show up.
ReplyDeleteTerri, I know that now the farmers were happy that it was not heavy rain here...they have been harvesting into the night to get the soybeans and corn in. Our neighbor has been disking his fields already.Hope you get the rain if you are in need. Blessings for a beautiful weekend, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI'm glad you got some rain. It's dry as a bone here and we're praying really hard for some. All the harvest is over with here except for putting up hay and it's been a nice Fall to do it in. We have some color but not as much as it usually is this time of year, to dry. Hope you have a nice weekend. Love and Blessings. xo
ReplyDeleteSusie, The farmers around here have been thankful for the good weather..even the rain wasn't bad...they have been able to harvest so many of the crops. The grain trucks are backed up in line at the elevators. I know what you mean about this time of year was more colorful last year. It may be the dryness. I would have thought there would be so much rain with the storms along the coast. Too much rain in one place and not enough in others...sad. I hope you are enjoying your weekend also. Blessing to you my friend, love, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI'm glad you got the rain and then sun. It rained here until later in the evening here but I think we needed it. Made me feel a little at odds, like---well get ready for five months of this! lol.
ReplyDeletePlants are resilient. Some of mine are gone but others hang on. Tonight we are supposed to have a frost. Hmmmm..
Jane
Blondie, Some times too much rain or gray days can just bum me out, as my kids would say. LOL. I have been loving sitting on the porch and walking around the yard. No doing any planting or gardening. Just enjoying the weather. It will be 80 here tomorrow, unreal. Sure hope we get an Indian Summer in November.... want to hold off on winter as long as possible. I enjoyed your post of the shower and get togethers . I love seeing your cute grandgirl. Wishing all of you a fabulous weekend, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie! Your leaves will change very soon! I'm trying to savor the golds and reds because soon the snow will come. I hope you are having a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteoh honey..do enjoy all of fall. I love autumn. I have done chores most of the day...where does all this work come from when it's just me and my husband?? LOL. Hope your day is going well. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie
Deletewe had clouds and rain for a few days here, too, and loved every drop...sun shining bright right now at 6pm...xoxo
ReplyDeleteBJ, That rain we got in early morning Thursday was soaked right up. Those days of 65 degrees were the best. Blessings for a great new week. xoxo, Susie
DeleteHope everything goes well with your daughter, Karen. I agree that they are our babies no matter how old they are.
ReplyDeleteKaren, I will always think of my daughters as my babies. I love them with all my heart, they are my greatest gift. I know you love yours children the same way. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWe've been getting some cold nights so our trees are glorious this year. We've also had some rain and really high winds-which means the leaves are all falling to the ground. Hope you have a great week Susie.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Noreen, we went to see my daughter and Ted's brother yesterday and the trees were showing lots more color that way. With the Emerald Ash Bore....you can see the ash trees standing dead in the woods. So sad. There's many still standing in our city park also. Blessings for a great week there. xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie, it rained here all weekend! What a beautiful sunrise this is. I love all the colors swirled together. It looks like a piece of art. :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the coming week, Susie.
love, ~Sheri
Sheri, Glad your area got rain. That seems rare for California. Hope you are loving your autumn there. We did see some pretty colors in the woods when we went to Liz's. Blessings, love, xoxox, Susie
DeleteNow that rain was kind of freaky wasn't it?? But...hey you have the photo to prove it:) What a different world we live in...now we have photos of everything..!! Glad Ted continues to have his heart checked out. That really is important!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
