"one day at a time"......"I need some me time".... "time changes everyone"..... "time is money"
I started this post earlier , last week.....but time has a way of changing things. As I was trying to think of what to put with the pictures of clocks to make it interesting...Time itself determined what I should say. "Time is precious, don't waste it."
As I was gathering the quotes and the pictures, my brother was at the hospital getting a biopsy for prostate cancer. His results are positive. He is our little brother. Thankfully the doctor has been checking his PSA numbers....because our father had prostate cancer ....so it's been caught early. He has decided to have the surgery. I only know right now the surgery is scheduled for over a month from now. .... "The trouble with time is you think you have time."
I am asking for prayers for our brother. He is a good man. Always makes us laugh. He's never been mean that I can remember...you know other the tormenting little brother stuff. LOL. ..."Time has a way of showing us what really matters. "
"Time is what we want most, but waste the worst." ..."The only thing more precious than time is who we spend it on."....,. "take time for your family and friends."
Thanking all of you that will keep my brother in your good thoughts and or prayers. Please keep the people in the path of the hurricane in our good thoughts also. We all need each other. Bless you. XO
My sister would like your house. She collects clocks and has several in every room of her house. I will be praying for your brother. Glad it was caught early. That makes a big difference.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you sweet Kathy. Steve is our baby brother. LOL. We still like to call him that occasionally. The clocks in our bedrooms have batteries. Kathy Jane , my daughter brings her ear plugs. But the last time she came ...I stopped the clocks for her to sleep better. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI will keep your sweet brother in my prayers, Susie...I am glad they caught it early!
ReplyDeleteMy dad was a clock collector...he had several hundred. He only kept a few wound, too, or there would be chimes all day and night. I never knew what time it was at my parents house unless I looked at my cell phone lol. After he passed, I took one special clock which hangs in our entryway... always makes me think of him.
Linda, So glad you kept one of your father's special clocks. I gave my oldest daughter the clock I got for working 30 years at G.M. I am thankful for your kind prayers for my brother. It means so much. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI will keep him in my prayers too. We are getting wind and rain but so far nothing too bad. Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteDiane, I hope and pray the coastal states do not have major damage. It's so darn scary. The tidal surges plus the winds. The rain fall would be bad enough. Stay safe. hank you for your prayers. :):)Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh Susie, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother, but thankful with you that it has been caught early. I have a couple of friends and two uncles who had the surgery and came though this very well. I pray the same outcome for your brother.
ReplyDeleteI love this post with pics of clocks and quotes about time. I have many different clocks in my house, too. What a clever idea. You are so right. We think we have time.
Nonnie, Thank you for your encouraging words. I too think my brother will do well. Our grandfather clock chimes every fifteen minutes and a stick for every hour on the hour. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSending prayers for your brother. yes time does get away from us. Love your clocks we have a oak chiming one my inlaws gave us as a wedding present.
ReplyDeleteAnn, When our chiming clocks all go off at the same time...it's crazy for a bit. LOL. Kathy says they are too noisy. The coco clock doesn't get it's chain weights pulled any more. :):) Thank you for your sweet prayers.Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSorry to hear about your brother but prostate cancer is very treatable these days. Very glad that he is having surgery.
ReplyDeleteOne can't have too many clocks. I had a whole hallway full of wall clocks. It was pretty cool. They were decorative And I didn't have to wind them.. I probably have too many that I have to Wind... Have a wonderful weekend.
Missy, I think if our father had just had the surgery he would have been with us longer. So I am thankful for our young brother deciding on his own. I am thankful that some of our clocks run by batteries...the mantle clock takes a key to turn it in both directions. The grandfather and coco clocks have pull weights. I would love to see the picture of your wall clocks I have always loved clocks. I have one tiny clock I got years ago at a $ store and I love the tic toc sound it makes. Blessings for a fun weekend, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI have a clock obsession and I loved all of your Susie! What treasures!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I love clocks too. Thankfully some run with batteries. The grandfather clock had weighted pulled ,as does the coco-clock. The mantle clock takes a key . Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteTIME and TIME again I come here because I love you. TIME is on your brother's side if they caught the prostate cancer early on. Make sure he asks them about robotic surgery! It is the least invasive procedure and also very pinpointed. John had that done about 8 years ago and they got it all (the other cancer he has is a whole different type).
ReplyDeleteThis was really a TIMELY post and I will be praying for your brother. xo Diana
Thank you so much Diana. I will tell my brother this. I know he was scared and that hurt me . Hopefully seeing Ben Stiller this week on the news helped him feel more confident about the out come.Thank you so much for your kind prayers. Your family is in mine too. Blessings to all, love, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI'm glad they caught things early for your brother. I think that is a very positive thing. I love the beautiful wood that was used to build your clocks. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenn. I am sure my brother is going to be good...with prayer and a good doctor. Glad you like our clocks. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh Susie, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother, and I just said a prayer for him. I didn't realize that your father had the same thing. I like all the clocks in your house, but I think my favorite is the tall dark one, that's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you tonight, Susie, and your brother.
love, ~Sheri
Thank you so much Sheri. Yes, our father had radiation and it just was not enough...made him so weak. I think if he had chosen surgery he would have been with us longer. The tall dark clock is our grandfather clock. It chimes every 15 minutes and strikes the number of hours. It has pull weights to wind it. I have a swan and berry wreath sitting on top. :) Blessings to you honey. You have such a good heart. Love, xoxo, Susie
Deletethat was a great post! Im glad you "take time" to blog! prayers for your brother. too much cancer out there... it sucks.
