Nearly Finished....

I say I am finished, then I tweak something....this week will be more tweaking, I am sure. My gosh I am so slow this year. Do you have decorations that you can't remember where you bought it ? Or how long you have had it? These Santa blocks are old but where did I get them.? LOL
If you see piles of newspapers and books...well at times that is how we live. I have no formal living room...every room is our home is a lived in space. :):) Wow, some of my photos look wonky.
The tree is done, the mantle also. I did a bit more here and there , outside.
I used the honey combed trees from last year, mixed with pine cones and two little fake greenery trees.  The deer are stocking hangers.
I actually like all the trees  scattered along the length of the mantle.
In the office I have some of my favorite Christmas books stacked .  I made some paperback novel trees a couple years ago and used them with the books.
This is the top of my sewing machine. I added plaid bows to the trees after this photo. That's the tweaking , I am talking about. :):)
I started with my Charlie Brown corner. The picture of Layla when she had very little hair and her head looks as round as Charlie's. An ornament my daughter Liz got me last year is on top of a vase.  I am thinking of hanging it from a twig in the vase...you know a twig that looks like the tree from the cartoon.   One of my favorite  books , "A Charlie Brown Christmas".
On the shelf in the dining room. I have a few framed small pictures of our town, that I love....at this time of year I prop Christmas pictures of family in front of them. Yes, I will be tweaking this for sure. Need to put my little pitchers  away.
Late afternoon, it started to rain, then a bit of ice in that rain. Next it was snowing. It did cover the ground and was melted this morning. I know it's winter, but I am still not ready for it. The beautiful long fall we had , has spoiled me. I do not want to see snow. LOL.
Wishing all of you a safe new week. XO

  3. You have a lot more done than I do. Everything looks so beautiful. I have so many Christmas decorations that I put away and now cannot remember where I put them! Maybe in my massive cleaning I will find them.

Technically it is still fall and you shouldn't be having snow. Tell it to go away... just don't send it here. Ha, ha! I am not ready for snow either.

    Have a good day!

    1. Kathy, that is one of the things about decorating...we clean as we go and it helps. I still have not found my huge wreath. I need Ted to get rid of old electronics in the basement and suitcase we will never use again...cause who want to pay for heavy case when flying or sailing. So we have learned to pack light.LOL. I am so afraid we are all going to be wearing long johns this next weekend. Brr. Let's start counting the days till Spring once Christmas is over. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. Wonky...LOL!!! Your pictures are great and I LOVE your fireplace too! You call it tweaking and I know what you mean, I can't leave well enough alone so things keep changing. We had snow here too and it is still on the ground but getting slushy in places. Oh well, it is so pretty when it is falling :)

    1. Karen, It tickles me when I find out that we all are similar in many ways...such as not leaving our decorations alone. LOL. The snow did cover the ground although not more than a 1/4 inch...it was melted by morning and this afternoon it was 43 degrees and beautiful out. That first big snow is going to kill me. girl. Blessings, xoxo, susie

  5. Oh, I loved seeing all your Christmas decorations, Susie. Your rooms are filled with the Christmas spirit. I love that Charlie Brown corner. It always reminds me of my brother, as he loves that show. Your stacked books look charming, and I still have to bring my Christmas books out; thanks for reminding me. The rain looks so beautiful outside and on your deck.

    Have a wonderful week, Susie.

    1. Sheri, I love to keep books that I remember reading to my girls and or that they have read. You remember when your children were small and Christmas was much more exciting and you loved their excitement....that's how I remember my girls and Christmases. The Charlie Brown cartoon was always part of it for them. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie

    1. Diana, I love Charles Dickens stories and Charlie Brown cartoons. So I like to keep the books that make me think of my girls being small. They used to watch the Charlie Brown cartoons , then cry cause it was over...it wasn't like now when you can find cartoons all the time or watch videos. LOL. Blessings to you and your family, xoxo, Susie

    1. Vee, It is funny how much we are all alike in ways. I have to keep moving things around, and might even change them out...like the tablescape. I was moving so slow decorating I thought I was backing up a few times. LOL. I laughed about if you thought your decorations were yours at times. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  13. Everything looks so pretty, Susie! I don't think I've seen so much of your home ever! Very cozy and comfy. And we use every room here, too!

Love your tree and all of your cute decorations. I'm terrible...I pick up a few things here and there from storage...I'm just so tired. I want a minimalistic Christmas but at this rate it may be nil! lol!

    1. Thank you Blondie. I like to have lots of throws and pillows out for winter. I bought the black/red plaid throws and made some of black/ red buffalo checked fleece. I did not get out everything out...The older I get the more of a chore it becomes. I think one day I will throw a sheet over the tree and take it to the basement and it will be ready for next year. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Gert, I am so glad the for you. You are right most every ornament has a story...especially if our children made them years ago. I do know one year Beerman's had a huge Christmas sale and I bought things that truly have no story for me. Stay warm there and be safe if you venture out. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Linda, I love the stories behind many ornaments my children have made me or made in school. The angel that used to top our tree was bought when my daughter Angie was born...so it now tops her tree. Only fitting I think. Now my angel topper is one my daughter Kathy made. Blessings to all, I would love to have your energy. :):) Love, xoxo, Susie
