Weeding....

I know dear friends....weeding ....what a snooze fest. LOL  This is my red nancy plant before I pulled the grasses . It looks lavender, so I have always wondered why it was called red nancy. Do you know?
Coral bells at the back door. It's so good and hardy. No coral bells yet, they come a bit later.
West side of the house is all lilies, irises and one lavender plant.
This lily is blooming now.  The strangest thing, I have found two purple irises mixed with my lilies and I have never had them before. :):)
This is the blooms of the catalpa tree. They are very pretty, but like all flowering trees, don't you wish the blooms could last longer. The tree is at it 's  prettiest today.
The winds have taken some blossoms off , I tell Ted , "Honey it's snowing". He knows exactly what I mean.
This is what it looks like once the blooms fall off the tree. They will shrink away after being in the sun.
Early this morning. This is a pretty sight for me as I wash dishes at the sink, or prepare food. I feel so blessed. To get up and see this in the morning hours and have some good coffee. I try to count my blessings everyday. It's 61 degrees here at almost 10 in the morning and no humidity...one of the sweetest days. I call this Vegas weather, I don't know why...it may be because you can wear a light weight sweater or go sleeveless.
Wishing all a beautiful day.  Be happy .    XO.

    1. Kathy, I think we all need something pretty to see when we look from our windows. I have no curtains across the windows in the back of the house...I like to see everything. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. That catalpa tree looks beautiful! And so do the flowers around the house. Don't you love weather like that - perfect temperature and dry. It's 71 and sunny, but there's a beautiful breeze. This is what we long for all winter! :-) Have a wonderful day, Susie!

  3. What a pleasure it must be to look out the window, drink your coffee, and see this view, Susie. Oh, the white blossoms on the ground DOES look like a blanket of snow! I find the same peaceful setting at the trail near my house, but you have it right in front of your yard. How wonderful that is, Susie. Enjoy every minute of it.

  4. It was pleasantly cool and breezy here too, today. I like that kind of 'snow', especially when the pink blossoms are sifting down.

  5. Your day sounds delightful, Susie. I love seeing your variety of plants/trees. We both woke with a sinus headache this a.m. and could not WAIT to get a cup of coffee. Soon we were feeling better. Hope you have a pleasant evening. xoxo

    1. Mildred, Some times I forget how many different flowers and plants are around here. I will take a walk around the yard and look at things growing. Oh yes, why I was sick I drank lots of warm coffee and teas to open up my sinuses . I suppose the same would work for allergies. hope you and your husband get better soon. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  6. Love all your flowers. I tried Coral Bells when I lived back in PA but did not have great luck with them.

    1. I don't think coral bells do very well in all day sun. I have some on the east side of the house and they get shinged around the edges. The ones in the picture are on the north side.. more shade. BLessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  8. Ah, Susie! You always see the flowers before you talk about the weeds. That's so you! Our weather is heating up and 61 degrees will not be in our forecast until the fall now! If then. I do dislike summer heat - especially Texas summer heat! But I am trying to be as positive as possible and enjoy this 12th summer of being married to Louis Dean! We leave for the ranch today and may stay for a few weeks! I hope I have Internet and can keep up with your posts! Wishing you and your Teddy Bear a lovely June! Love and prayers from Texas!

    1. Linda, I could live a whole summer at 61 degrees...later in the day the wind picked up . This Thursdfay morning it's 49 degrees...this is a rare couple days here...but oh it's sweet. I hope you get everything done at the ranch. Be safe . Keep LD hydrated. I know he's chomping at the bit to get going on his project. Blessings, love you guys, xoxo, Susie

  9. Oh, your coral bells do look good! I've tried various coral bells over the years, but they don't thrive. That tree is so pretty. We don't have catalpa trees here. Must be our climate? -Jenn

    1. Jenn, I have had several coral bells....some get too hot on the east side of the house. These in the photo are at the north side...they do so well there. Catalpa trees are in zones 4-6. I think most of Indiana is zone 5. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  10. Hi Susie, I tried to comment last night but googlely wouldn't let me, so am trying again.

You have such a pretty home. I have never heard of the red nancy plant before. It's so pretty and I'll have to look that one up.

These less humid days are so nice and the cool nights are wonderful, too. But it's going to start heating up again, they say. I wish it would stay just like it is now all summer long! The humidity is hard to take.

Have a nice day, my friend!

    1. Cheryl, I some times think blogger messes up too. I have troubles leaving comments at times and some times it will copy it twice. This Thursday morning was 49 degrees. Cool for June...but I am loving the low humidity. Hope your weekend is fun . Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Laura, There's nothing as nice as having the windows open and airing out our homes. There's just something about the smell of the sweet breeze in the mornings. I am glad you are having good weather too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  13. Hi Susie, I've never heard the term Vegas weather; earthquake weather for sure when we lived in Ca. Love all your flowers!
    Have a great day!

    1. Noreen, I think I just call it Vegas weather from seeing old pictures of Vegas from the 50's and 60's...where men would wear suits even in summer and women dressed a bit more glamourous. I do like the weather to be mild, so I can wear a light weight sweater or jacket. Hope you have good weather there. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  14. Susie, all your flowers are so pretty. I have no idea about the Red Nancy or the irises making their way in. But I do know I really, really like that view from the kitchen window. I could enjoy a snow like that!
