Harvest Time And Colorful Trees.....

The field across the road got harvested Sunday...hooray.....now I can see farther.
When I see how much corn is here and there in the fields, ditches and roads....it makes me think mouse buffet.  No wonder there's hawks around. :):)
Trees have changed colors and many have completely lost their leaves.
Through out town you can spot the really pretty ones.
I love this red color. Makes me want a back yard full of these.
The park is colorful and even after lots of the trees have been topped and even removed for safety. Especially if any of them are near the play ground areas.
Today is to be nice, it's clouding a bit. I was hoping for full sunshine as I am not feeling so great. I have a sore throat. I know I keep thinking about all the babies I was around...I hope I got this from them and not be the one giving in this instance. Wishing all a great day. XO

    1. Susie, I am glad the farmers are getting their crops in before big rains...that is if we get rain any more. LOL. We had almost flood condition thru spring and early summer and now it's so dry...the grass looks bad. Hope you get a pretty fall season. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  3. Those trees are so beautiful! Ours are all still green. A couple of more weeks before they start turning although I have seen one or two around that have some yellow on them. I just got over that sore throat. It's not fun. Hope you are feeling better really soon.

  4. It must be nice for you to see all the trees in your area change color, Susie. These pictures are wonderful. I love how they go from green to golden to oranges to reds. I am loving this season very much, and taking it all in.

Have a good rest of the week.

  5. Such gorgeous colors! I so enjoy seeing the changes in foliage, however, we don't have that much here. It is cooler though, finally! Rain is forecast for the next 2-3 days and we need it desperately. Almost washed away in May and now we're back to drought conditions.

I so hope you're feeling better! Rest and drink some hot tea with honey & lemon. Maybe add a bit of whiskey this evening! :)

  8. Your neighborhood looks like mine.don't you just love fall? So beautiful. I just feel badly for the deer because they used to hide in the cornfield and of course they ate the corn as well. Enjoy these beautiful days Susie!

    1. Missy, I really do not like driving after dark when it's harvest time...as the deer are running. The farmer is in the last field here on the corner..he has enough equipment they will finish tonight. I think they are trying to beat a rain forecast for this evening late. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

LOL Our paper this morning said, " Powerful El Nino could cause a mild winter fro the Indianapolis area." I sure hope so. You have beans in Boston , right? LOL In this area it's corn, soybeans and some wheat. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Diana, The field across the road is done and those farmers finished the corner field yesterday evening...so happy. Now I can see again. Corn blocks my views. Some farmers are neater than others too. They do not make near the mess as the fellow across the road. LOL. I know that if it rains some of the pretty leaves will fall fast. The little woods in back is look sparse. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Viv, Too many gray days get me down...I try not to think that way...but it's true. I am a sunshine person. My husband is mowing today , actually mulching the leaves...I tried to tell him it's too much..grr..he said he'd mow twice. Our lawn looks dead already from two months of no rain. Plus he wants to burn the pile of limbs and leaves and that just makes me plain crazy when it's dry. Men are pyro maniacs. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  26. Your area is so so pretty in the fall. You have the best of everything. Do you ever get mice in your home being near the fields? I get them here in the city and at the lake. I start hiding the poison as soon as it gets cold and that puts and end to it pronto!

Enjoyed the post on your granddaughter's shower---lovely and you look beautiful, Susie!

    1. Blondie, Yes, I have had a mice here..I usually get prepared by buying poison and traps. My problem is I just make myself nuts trying to find any place a mouse could get in. They are usually in the basement hope they never come up stairs. Gosh I do a post on this. We put poison outside around the garage and shed and the wood pile. I am a freak when it comes to never wanting bugs or varmints in my house... so it's a job. Thank you for your kind words about the shower. Bless your heart, xoxo,Susie
