More Pumpkins.....

Emma came to stay this past weekend.  She brought her book bag and it was heavy.  She had some homework to do. She loved the sweater pumpkins I had made and wanted to make some tiny ones.
I had thrown out the left over sweater material, so we used a new hanky. Cut it in half and made a pumpkin from the piece with a flower bouquet embroidered on it.  Then she says she wants one even smaller. LOL   So that is the little one she loved the best.
She picked the sticks from the yard for her stems. The ribbons and yarn to use on them. I did the gathering of the material with needle and thread and she did the rest. She was pleased.  It gave me a good feeling to be crafting with her again. I have missed my little pal.
We took a trip to the Dairy Queen for lunch on Saturday . It was cold and we had to wear  jackets.  We also went to the library and bought some books from the sale shelves.  It was a fun weekend.
Always feel so sad when I take her back home. Love those grandkids. :):)

  7. Emma made me laugh wanting to make the tiny pumpkins. She reminded me of Jess, as she loves miniature things hehehe. The sweater pumpkins are sweet, and I like the material you used for the bigger one. Emma must have had a fun time making these with you. You know, Susie, Dairy Queen is a favorite of mine too, and sometimes I get a chocolate dipped cone during the summer months.

What a blessed day you had with your granddaughter, Susie.

Thank you for the birthday wishes for Jess.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Thank you Sheri. I teased Emma about her pumpkin being a grape. LOL She has a great sense of humor and can laugh at herself so freely. I was glad she suggested the D.Q. makes feeding her easier. LOL. Hope Jess' day was wonderful You are blessed with your loving children too. Love you girl, Susie

  10. Great memory making with your grand daughter. We had a power outage for 3 days two Christmases ago and my nephew and family stayed with us up until Christmas Eve when power finally came back on (he fell and broke his ribs + we have a fireplace.) His girls were 11, 9 and 7 and loved having 'great auntie' teach them to cross stitch and knit. Now they come by for supplies and tips often and I love to have passed these skills on. Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind comments.

    1. Hi Elizabeth, I am loving all my days with my grands...as they grow up, the time is less and less with grandkids. So I want all the days to be fun and a memory..Hopefully Emma will speak of me when I am long gone from this earth...hoping her memories are of our love. I know your family loved learning something that will be with them for life. So kind of you too. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  14. Emma is such a cute girl. I wore braids like that when I was little. Those are the cutest pumpkins! How great is that, that the two of you can craft together? Love that Emma hunts for twigs in the yard to use as stems:)

    1. Nonnie, when the temperatures go from 70 to 50 overnight, that's cold...the rain makes it seem more so. We are back up to the 70's . I do like it around 60, no wind. LOL. Emma's hair is thick and long, hard to get the tangles out when it's been washed. But she likes for me to braid it when she's here. Gotta love those grandkids. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
