Some Sunshine & Cold Temperatures...

We are having the polar vortex again. Single temperatures, where you can not be out in for a length of time.  You see people scurrying into the grocery and back to their cars.
The sun was out early then hid for hours with on and off snow. Later in the day the sun came back out. The sky were blue and pretty. This really helps me when it cold out.
Here's some of my mums . I do not cut them down , so the little birds have places to hide or get in out of the wind. Some times I scare them or they scare me , when I walk by here.
This is yesterday's sunset. I love seeing it. I know it's not long till spring(36 days) officially...so that makes this cold stuff a little easier to bear.
Wishing all of you a great Saturday. Hope you get a valentine from a loved one. XO

  1. I hope this is the last of winter's bluster for you. I think the world is ready for an early spring! How kind of you to leave the plants standing for shelter. Little birdies must find a tiny nook wherever they can...

    1. Janet, You are probably having a heat wave compared to us. LOL. I saw 3 ladies on the today show, they were from Georgia. They were holding signs that said , "we are from Georgia and we are freezing our peaches off." I had to laugh. Blessings to you, Susie

    1. Missy, Mollie may think she's a sled dog and loves the cold. I wonder if animals ever get cabin fever. This is almost too amazing...it was so cold this morning, just bitter. I just now came inside from walking around. I walk down one drive way then a few feet on the road over to the next driveway and then up to the house and I jst keep making a loop for about 15 minutes . It's is not that cold right now...of course the sun has shone since about 9:00 . Did not feel as cold as Al Roker said it would. Bless you, enjoy your evening. xoxo,Susie

  11. Oh Susie, I feel for you. This has been terrible...between the snow, temperatures and wind, it makes it very hard to be out in it. My son took me shopping the other day, when we came out it was snowing/sleeting and it was cold!!!! We just came home, cutting our shopping time. But, just thinking of spring makes me smile. Next week it's to get up to 50 degrees!!! Yeah!! And you know what that means...nice weather is on it's way to you!

    Blessings,
    Gert

    1. Gert, I know we have truly had a mild winter as far as snows go, but the temperatures have been crazy high for this time of year...or so bitter cold, it's scary to go out. I am so ready for our Spring. Just praying it won't be a wet one. It's good your family is able to help you. I have worried for you. I know you will always be sweet, I want you to stay strong too.:):) Bless you, xoxo, love, Susie

  13. What a pretty sunset. I'm sorry it's so cold there. We've actually had some sun and the snow is melting. We saw signs that our grass seed planted in the fall is germinating. Spring is coming. YES! xo ~ Nancy

  14. 36 days? I can do that.....although this morning is absolutely brutal - I went out to put some nuts and seeds on the flat feeder and the cold just took my breath away!! Stay warm and happy Valentine's day!! xo

  15. Susie, a blog friend just mentioned that she is having freezing temperatures right now, nine degrees below zero, brrrrr. That's nice that you don't cut your mum bushes down so the birds have a place to hide from the wind and cold. I love that tree picture with the white clouds in the distance.
