Lunch With The Girls.....

Some of our girls....that is. Emma stayed the night Thursday evening. By the time we arrived back home, with her on Thursday, she was ready to play on her phone and watch the Disney channel. She slept till almost 9:00 the next day, then lounged around. Liz called and said she was coming early to pick Emma up....so we all met up at the Dairy Queen in town, for lunch. Liz, her granddaughter Layla  (my g.grand) and Emma (Liz's daughter and my grand)
Emma was happy with a caramel sundae. Layla is kissing on a dolly we gave her. It was part of Emma's old bath toys. I found a bag of them that she had played with thru the years .
Layla starts feeding herself some ice cream. She really liked it, even though she had to people watch the whole time. It was fun to watch her . I love that we had a small town lunch with our girls.
It seemed sad to come home without our Emma....the time went too fast. We did not do any crafts, or really visit much.   She was tired from being up late the night before (fall break) and playing with her phone...I never let her stay on it in the evenings while here.  She charges it up for the next day though. LOL.
The leaves are falling fast with the rain we have had. Frost was predicted for last night. I did not try to cover much.
It even looked cold  when the sun was going down, Friday evening.   It's 40 degrees this Saturday morning, as I write this at 8:00.   I do not see any frost on things. The sun is rising and it looks like a red sky to begin our day.
Wishing everyone a wonderful autumn Saturday. XO

    1. Kris, I love being with the children...even if things are not planned. I have learned we have to grab those moments when we can. I like our D.Q. , it's been around a long time. Hope your weekend is going well. We need to love these good days...I am afraid of what winter may have in store for us, aren't you? Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. So glad you had some time with Emma. They really grow up fast and change, don't they? I sometimes miss the old sweet days when Nana/Grandma topped any friends or cellphone! I still have that with the little kids but the older ones are growing up to be real people right in front of my eyes. lol

Small town hang-outs are the best!! xo Diana

    1. Diana, I could actually cry if I dwelled on how quickly the years have gone and my grandkids that a played with in the yard are all grown now. Emma's my youngest grandchild. Layla may have to take her place. LOL. I got to spend time holding Max at Lizzy's house. I will say I was asleep when my head hit the pillow Thursday night. Lizzy said she was pooped...I said tell me about..Holding Max and carrying him around...was like caging a Tasmanian devil. LOL. He's almost 111 months and strong as a horse. I will take all these times I can get with the kids. Bless you dear friend, xoxo, Susie
p.s. I know you and many others understand my melancholy about the kids.

    1. Hi Karen, The morning have been chilly here...40's. I do not want the furnace on..I need a break from AC and that...so I told Ted to use the space heater for a few mornings by his chair.LOL. Karen, whenever I text with Emma, I sign off by saying, "You are my girl" and she texts, "You are my Nana". That's special for us. I know they have to spread their wings...I just do not want them to fly too far. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  10. I love the pictures of your family time, Susie. I find that kids go through certain stages. They can be very needy and then aloof at the drop of a hat. I know you know this with your own but in this case, you didn't have a lot of time to make up for what you didn't get around to doing. Mark it down and remember next time.

I love where you live, it seems so peaceful. :-D

Thanks again and always for your really sweet comments on my blog. I think you are the only one who ever addresses me as Blondie and that's what all my 'real' friends call me. Love you for that!

Blondie...yes, you are Blondie..when I first started blogging with you, your picture made me think , what better name for such a gorgeous blonde. :) I enjoyed my time with family...it's so important to grab those moments. I do not get to have emma over as much and I get lonesome for her. She didn't even talk about school much , other than to affirm her grades were good. :):)
Blessings to you and hope you show some snippets from your news stories. xoxo, love you too Blondie girl. Susie

  11. Hi Susie! Oh, your girls are so cute and sweet looking. I know how much you must have enjoyed them. They do grow up so fast and go through all kinds of stages. It certainly is fall here and we're covered in fallen leaves. Thank you so much for popping in to see me and your sweet comments.

    1. Shelia, With our Emma being our youngest granddaughter, it's hard to see her growing into a teen. She's 12 1/2 now. Maybe when my great granddaughter, Layla gets a bit older, she will come stay with us.:) I loved seeing your sweet Carter in the wedding party. She's cute as a button. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  12. What a lovely picture of fall in your front yard. All your girls are pretty and it's so true that time is slipping away from us. You are blessed to be having a ggrand and enjoy another little one. I feel sad because our kids aren't over as much as they were since school began. It would be nice to see a frost around here, but 50 is as cool as it has been. Have a good week.

She looks just like you! You have frost already, Susie? It's getting colder here every day, but I hope that Autumn lasts for a little while longer.
