Hunter's Moon....

This picture was taken on Sunday evening, just as I spotted the moon.
I was going for a picture of this clump birch tree. It was glowing with the setting sun shining on it.
Now this is the picture of the moon I tried to get last night (Monday). It was coming up in a whole new area. There were wispy clouds
This shadow shot is always one of my favorites.  I always like to see the shadows and light on the shop/garage.   I took this on Sunday.

The sun is setting through the pines. Now you can see with the leaves off the hickory, how badly that tree is damaged from an early summer storm.. We really should cut it down this winter, you know when the ground is frozen.
This is Sunday's sunset. Last night we had more clouds due to the rains coming in . Today it is to rain most all day. We need it here. Just wish we had the yard cleaned of all the leaves.  Tonight is the full moon. I won't get to see it, hope all of you get a chance.
Went to the eye dr. yesterday for my yearly check-up. Good report. no change in my vision....but I am getting a pair of new glasses. I wanted some thing lighter, not sitting so heavily on the bridge of my nose. A pair with the nose piece as part of the frame...you know where you can push them up and they don't tangle in your hair. LOL Almost forgot, I am feeling much better. Sore throat is gone, drippy nose also. Must have been an allergy.
  Enjoy this day. XO

  1. I was just thinking that exact thought yesterday -- I need eyeglasses that don't get tangled in my hair when I push them up. (I think that means switching from wire frames to plastic ones.)

    Lovely photos.

    1. Jo(e)...once I shoved my glasses upon my head and just about never got them out of my hair. I am done with that. I will never get another pair of glasses with these pivoting nose pieces. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Kris, I get so mad at myself...because I have not bought a zoom lens for my camera...the one on it is pitiful. LOL I need my grandson here to give me lessons too. He has an on line camera class. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. Susie, I'm afraid we're bad about waiting until January to cut down trees that should have been cut and cleaned away when it was warm!

Beautiful pictures though and I hope tonight's will be spectacular. Too much rain here for that, I'm afraid.

    So glad you're feeling better!

  7. Hi Susie, glad you are feeling better and your pictures are wonderful. I always like to take pics of the sky in all of it's many facets. I very rarely get a good pic of the moon though. Next time I get my eyes checked I will check out the kind of frames you are talking about. Mine have the little nose pieces and they leave horrible marks on my nose as I have to wear them all the time now..Happy Halloween..Judy

    1. Hi Judy, Also when you want to push your glasses atop your head...those little nose pieces get stuck in your hair. LOL... I wear my glasses all the time too...I have the start of a cataract..too soon to do anything about it so the glasses help. One day I will get a new lens for my camera, then possibly be able to get a good photo of the moon. :):) Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  9. Hi Susie, I've never heard of a Hunter's moon; I thought maybe it was just a name you gave it. I liked it because that is what my dogs name is.
    Glad you are feeling better!

  10. Beautiful moon shots, Susie. I called my DIL the other night to tell her to take CJK outside to see the moon-it was so big and felt like you could touch it. He was already outside with his daddy moon watching by a bonfire. So sweet.

Glad you are feeling better. Hope you had a great day- xo Diana

  11. I love all your pics and they are the kind I enjoy taking and looking at. Glasses are a big pain and I am having trouble adjusting to them after not having worn glasses since I was 18. The frames getting tangled up in your hair is ouchy!!

    1. Nonnie, I never wore glasses till 7 years ago. I need the bifocal to read plus I have the very start of a cataract and when it gets bad enough for a surgery then I won't need glasses (hopefully), but in the mean time...what a pain they can be. Thankfully there are nice glasses out there.:) Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  12. Love the moon shots. The past few nights, the moon has been gorgeous but tonight the sky is totally cloud covered.

    1. Hi Pat, Yes, the clouds are blocking good views of the moon now. Pictures never do justice to it's beauty....unless you have super zoom lens. Which I need. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Nellie, We have been needing this rain. Just wish it could have been last month. LOL Now the leaves are on the c ground and I just hate them being that thick...we need to clean them up. Looks like a two day job. LOL. No more moon views here . Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  14. I need some new glasses, too, and am like you, Susie, in that I want some that don't get tangled in my hair! Ouch! I won't get to see the moon tonight, either. We've had light rain all day but we need every bit we can get. It's been so dry. Hope you have a good night, I've got one eye on the World Series as I write this. I hope it doesn't last too long, I need to get some sleep!
Oh, I almost forgot...love your photos, too. That last shot of the sunset with all the clouds is beautiful!

    1. Cheryl, Just because we have to wear glasses, doesn't mean we don't want comfort and cuteness.LOL These glasses I am wearing were stylish but heavy and oh that nose piece...ugh. So I switched to a lighter model and the nose piece is just part of the plastic frames. Not those little tippy things. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
