Pansies....

Horton's got their pansies in today. I love all the pretty colors.  I did not buy any just yet.
I really like this old tin filled with some spring flowers. and twigs.  I think some sticks or twigs always look good in containers , along side pretty flowers.
Here's my fake forsythia.  I am going to be putting it in some little vases around the house.  It looks close to being real and that's good. Rain is headed our way. Possibly 3 inches. Please keep the southern states in your prayers  or good thoughts, as the weather is getting scary for them. Flooding amounts of rain are predicted. Bad storms also.  Be safe everyone . XO

  1. I planted some pansies today. It's so warm here, though, I hope they don't die from the heat. My forsythia is blooming. But, I didn't think about clipping some for indoors. Thanks for the idea, Susie. Hope your week is great.

    1. Laurie, I hope your pansies live...I know they can take the cold...I am not sure of the heat. I love to see a whole row of forsythia blooming..some people used to use them as a fence. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    2. I expected that we will have another cold snap before spring really sets in. I'm hoping the pansies live, too. But for now, the color is a welcome site. Forsythia as a fence...now that's a cool idea.

  2. We have had pansies in our nurseries for the past few weeks. Love their little faces. Had not heard about the rain. I hope there is no flooding.. We could use a little rain. Our forsythia is almost ready to bloom... Hope you're having a good week, Susie.

    1. Missy, The biggest rain is to be going thru the very southern states. We are to have some here this evening and tomorrow. I love seeing things starting to bloom...it seems so long since we have been outside for a fun time. I want to fill my porch pots with pansies and violas. I am not putting anything where those pesty bunnies can reach. LOL. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

  3. Our pansy season is over, sadly. Too hot already. But we got some rain, so maybe we will all be able to grow some flowers this year out West! I want to grow zinnias and Spanish Flag this year!

Keeping a good thought for those states that tend to flood and get tornadoes...

    1. I did not know if pansies could take the heat, I do know they can live in the cold. Or so it seems here they do. I am ready for some wonderful flowers. I am hoping my husband will live trap the two bunnies I saw here last week. Last year rabbits ate all the plants I put in the yard garden areas. I love zinnias. They grow in so many beautiful colors. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Debby, I would rather not have rain so soon after the ground has started to thaw. It is good the kids can be outside. So sorry to hear about their other g.ma. Kids need all the loving relatives that can get. Hugs to all of you, blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. I love it when the pansies come to the nursery! These are really pretty Susie. I can't wait to plant me some.
I hope you don't mind the rain because 3" sounds like a ton of rain. At least it would be here in Idaho. Two years ago the town 60 miles from me got 4" in one day and they had awful flooding. The water was up to the side windows on the pickup trucks in the dealerships. I don't know what would happen in my area if we got that much at once.
    sending hugs...

    1. Hi June, 3 inches of rain could cause mild flooding....the ground is just thawing . Heavy rains scare me. I just hate the basement to get wet. It's only for storage or utility...but I am not crazy about basements. There were place in the south that Al Roker said could get 15 inches of rain...that's insane. Too dangerous. I just would love a calm beautiful springtime. LOL. Hope all is well in your household. Blessings to all, hugs for Landon too, xoxo,Susie

    1. Susie, I hope you do not get that much rain...Al Roker said some places will get up to 15 inches...that's crazy.I do not want the 3 inches that might fall here. That's enough to make the basement have a trickle line from the weep holes. Be safe. I know it will be fun to get outside and enjoy our yards and porches. Blessings, xoxo, Love,,Susie

  15. Another blog friend of mine just planted pansies in pots for the front of her house. Your forsythia looked real when I first saw it. Yes, I heard about the heavy rains going on right now in some areas.

I'm glad you're getting some rain too, Susie.

  21. Oh, my sweet Susie! Pansies make me smile! I need to grab some and just do a small pot or two until the other flowers start opening...
How much rain have you had now? The bulk of it missed us, thank goodness. The ground here was already saturated. But the grass is really greening up! Got to get my mower serviced- it won't be long before I need it.

    1. Tete, I think we all need at least one pot of pansies to get us started.:):) Tete, I just feel so thankful that we did not get the heavy rain these past two day. Tomorrow will be nice then the rain on and off for the next four days or so. I just worry about flooding ...It's so horrible what has happened in the south. I pray for all there. Our lawn has greened up since we picked up the debris on Monday...I am amazed, for it all looked half dead to me. Take care and keep well. Blessings to all of you, xoxo,Susie

    1. Boston Boy, I am truly amazed at the difference in 2015 and 2016's winter in your area. It's crazy. Now all that rain in the south. I am firm believer in dredging creeks and rivers....to help carry away flood waters. We broke a record for having over seventy degree in Marsh for our area last week. I have pictures from two years ago and there's snow on the ground at this time. Let's hope the a pleasant Spring. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  25. Ahh, their they are. The pansies I've been wanting to see. I love them clustered in that old tin container. Your faux forsythia does look real. Nothing says spring is really here like Forsythia in bloom. I just love seeing it. Hugs, Nancy
