The bumble bees are really working the sedum over. There were 8 big bees on it yesterday.
When I was a kid, I was a scared of bumble bees , but would catch them in a jar. Watch them , then let them go. Now I know not to swat at any bee and they usually won't sting you.
I saw a couple wooly worms on the driveway. Both were a rich brown color.
There were leaves on the porch . Some are turning colors.
I washed the porch walls yesterday. Oh it was a work out. I used one of the scrub brush meant for pots and pans. Living among farm fields and wind this part of the house gets very dirty. I still have all the pillows, cushions , and throws in the house , because of rain threats.
Late afternoon looked like rain. It never did rain.
I played around with the table décor. Mixing in some fall colors. My little sign says," There's simply no place quiet like home."
Here it is the first day of September. It's going to be a busy time. Ted is helping Emma's dad cut wood today, since it's cooler. You all know Ted is retired. Matt works one of the crazy swing shifts...so he has odd days off from work. So the wood cutting is usually on Matt's schedule.
Hope all of you have a great day. Those in the path of storms, be safe please. XO
Hi Susie, love all the pics! And you have been busy! love your table décor. SO cute. Have a blessed day and happy September. xo
ReplyDeleteHi Pam, Thank you for the good wishes. I hope we all have a beautiful autumn....boy summer was hot enough. I will probably play with the table décor more. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI enjoyed your post today, Susie, and I like your touch of fall table centerpiece! Makes me want to visit Hobby Lobby!
ReplyDeleteKaren, I have not been to hobby lobby for some time. I really like to buy their flower bunches(fake) when they are 1/2 off. Blessings to you. Hope your son is doing well at his new job. xoxo, Susie

ReplyDeleteSusie, your post hit home for me because I just took a picture of my white roses with a bee swarming around them. I may show it tomorrow. I love this picture of the bee on the pink flowers, it's so pretty. That was nice of Ted to help cut wood with Emma's dad. They will be needing it before they know it. Susie, your sign says it all, there's simply no place quite like home.

Sheri, I love seeing bees and butterflies...I know they are helping to pollinate things. Matt and Liz, Emma's parents have a lot a of ash trees on their property and a some of the trees have been invaded by the Emerald Ash Bore...a bug that bores into the bark and eats the sap of the tree thus killing it. Our city park has many of those trees also. All dead. One concellation is it's good fire wood. So Ted and Matt like to cut wood together. We need a few more rows to finish filling the wood bin. Hope you are doing well. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThat sky looked so gorgeous! The leaves are starting to change here, I saw the first pops of color weeks ago and every day, more and more. I'm ready and yet it's always bittersweet saying goodbye to summer! Xo
ReplyDeleteoh you said it perfectly..it's bittersweet, knowing summer is going . I did love how cool these past two days have felt compared to those high 80-90's. Enjoy little girl. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

DeleteSusie, WE can feel the changing of the seasons here in Colorado.I love the cooler mornings and evenings. I haven't put out most of my harvest decor because it would be up till Thanksgiving and this year it just seems too long. I've got little touches here and there however. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Noreen, I do not want to decorate fully for fall just yet either. I do not do so many of the holidays ...but I do love to put out stuff for the seasons. I hope your weekend is a great one too. I am so loving these low humidity days. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
