My Trip To Horton's.....

Bee Lady From Hilltop Farm....sweet Cindy, showed up for a brief visit at Horton's. Cindy is a very crafty person. She's a bee keeper, a crochet expert, and super party planner....well it seems so, if you visit her blog and see how many family members and friends show up to be with her. I was so happy to see her. But part of my stamina had worn out early, so I did not get to visit as long as I would have liked.
The side entrance to the store. Always decorated in the holiday or season that is  celebrated.
Lots of wonderful pumpkins, hay bales and mums.  The mums were just budded out, not many of them in bloom.
  A bittersweet wreath...love this.
In the corner that is a kitchen display area, you can find some cute things. I really liked the canister set.

A wooden owl with lids for his big eyes.
Boxes and glittery pumpkins. Plenty of the twinkle lights were for sale.
I thought this chalkboard's saying was just wonderful.
I always like to see old suitcases filled with pretty things.
This was one of my favorite vignettes. An old Royal typewriter, tiny desk with cubbies. Really cute.  I enjoyed my time at Horton's talking mostly. LOL I'll show you in a few days what all I bought.
Went to my Angie's house to meet up with her and Karen. They had gone to the Earth fest for a few hours. We had coffee  and talked. It has been awhile since we have had time together.  Not like the old days when all my daughters and I would walk the Earth fest from one end to the other and back again.  Miss those days.
Hope all of you had a great Saturday. XO

    1. Kris, I know you have been having family fun celebrating your anniversary...I was still hoping I would see you at Horton's. There wasn't as much this time. The Peddlers market wasn't as busy either...it's held right behind Horton's. I did drop in at the florist shop to talk with our friend Jean...her husband passed away this summer. Sad. Blessings to you and the family. I am hoping one day we will meet some where. Love, xoxo, Susie

  4. I really enjoyed all your photos today, especially the canister set with those little legs and the old typewriter. So nice to meet up with a blogger. It's tough when we can't do all the walking like we used to.

    1. Nonnie, One day I am going to buy an old typewriter to use in decorating. I just love seeing them. I have met Cindy at Horton's a couple times before. I Knew she could not stay long shopping as she's been worried about her hubby's health. He had a foot surgery about 10 days prior. Speaking of feet...wow mine did not last long this time. I need to rest up when I want to shop. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  10. Hi Susie! It was so fun meeting up with you and I thought we had a lovely visit. You didn't seem tired to me, so you did a good job of hiding it. I'm getting ready to post pics...but I didn't take any at Hortons. I knew you would do a good job so I'll just refer to your post! Thank you again for the adorable pumpkin. I'm hoping to get some fall decorations out this week. I love it. You are so thoughtful. We should meet for coffee sometime and just sit and chat.

  12. What a wonderful day you had at Horton's! Old friends to meet, such beautiful decorations, and all that FALL portrayed in one place. What a festive array, and I know you enjoyed it.

I truly meant to head up that way this weekend, but we caught what my Mammaw used to call a "flying trip" to Michigan for Chris to fix a machine, so we spent the weekend in a fabulous whirl of Fairy Doors, beautiful scenery, welcoming shopkeepers, and even THREE wedding parties making photos out all around the charming little town of Northville.

Totally unexpected, and completely perfect in all the whimsy and charm.

And isn't this MONDAY a cool, FALL-feeling one?? I've just been outside for a bit, and it's really HERE.

  18. Horton's seems a lot like a establishment here in the next town, Mahoney's Rocky Ledge Farm. My parents used to like to take trips there on Sunday's. Typewriter? what's a typewriter?

    1. Boston Boy, I am know typewriter is an unheard of thing for the young. I saw a short clip about youngsters looking at a pay phone...they didn't know what it was . So funny. Hey go to that Mahoneys and get some pictures...that would make a nice post. Blessings to you, hope you are getting things put away. xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Judy, I like to get some nice pictures at Horton's...so I go a day early or so and I always ask to be permitted to get photos. This week'd weather is cooler and easy for this old girl to deal with...but then the rain came...I did sit outside while it rained...I was under the covered part of ur porch. I like to be outside to talk with God at times. Blessings to you, hope you are getting around better and sitting on your nice porch. xoxo, Susie
