Bee Lady From Hilltop Farm....sweet Cindy, showed up for a brief visit at Horton's. Cindy is a very crafty person. She's a bee keeper, a crochet expert, and super party planner....well it seems so, if you visit her blog and see how many family members and friends show up to be with her. I was so happy to see her. But part of my stamina had worn out early, so I did not get to visit as long as I would have liked.
The side entrance to the store. Always decorated in the holiday or season that is celebrated.
Lots of wonderful pumpkins, hay bales and mums. The mums were just budded out, not many of them in bloom.
A bittersweet wreath...love this.
In the corner that is a kitchen display area, you can find some cute things. I really liked the canister set.
A wooden owl with lids for his big eyes.
Boxes and glittery pumpkins. Plenty of the twinkle lights were for sale.
I thought this chalkboard's saying was just wonderful.
I always like to see old suitcases filled with pretty things.
This was one of my favorite vignettes. An old Royal typewriter, tiny desk with cubbies. Really cute. I enjoyed my time at Horton's talking mostly. LOL I'll show you in a few days what all I bought.
Went to my Angie's house to meet up with her and Karen. They had gone to the Earth fest for a few hours. We had coffee and talked. It has been awhile since we have had time together. Not like the old days when all my daughters and I would walk the Earth fest from one end to the other and back again. Miss those days.
Hope all of you had a great Saturday. XO
Hi Susie, I enjoyed the photos very much. I once had a typewriter like that. The owl is very cute! I look forward to viewing what you purchased. Glad you could visit a while with Angie and Karen. Have a restful evening.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mildred. It was a fun day...not as long as I normally would go...but fun to see friends and my daughters. Hope your day was a great one. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHow cool that you met up with a blog friend. I haven't met any of mine. Thanks for all the pictures of Horton's. I always love seeing it.
ReplyDeleteKathy, I would love for bloggers to have a convention of sorts. I sure would try to go. LOL Hope you had a good day, maybe some relaxing after the big week you had. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLoved seeing Horton's. Glad you had a fun time.
ReplyDeleteKris
Kris, I know you have been having family fun celebrating your anniversary...I was still hoping I would see you at Horton's. There wasn't as much this time. The Peddlers market wasn't as busy either...it's held right behind Horton's. I did drop in at the florist shop to talk with our friend Jean...her husband passed away this summer. Sad. Blessings to you and the family. I am hoping one day we will meet some where. Love, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI really enjoyed all your photos today, especially the canister set with those little legs and the old typewriter. So nice to meet up with a blogger. It's tough when we can't do all the walking like we used to.
ReplyDeleteNonnie, One day I am going to buy an old typewriter to use in decorating. I just love seeing them. I have met Cindy at Horton's a couple times before. I Knew she could not stay long shopping as she's been worried about her hubby's health. He had a foot surgery about 10 days prior. Speaking of feet...wow mine did not last long this time. I need to rest up when I want to shop. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt's so nice you met up with your friends (love the pic). The Earth Festival sounds fun. I love this sort of thing but hubby doesn't. I need more girlfriends. Horton's is so fun---I always love your pics of what is new, Susie! You never disappoint!
ReplyDeleteJane
Blondie, I was talking of course, in the pic. LOl. We used to have the best times at the Earth fest.,Buying crafts, books, food treats. Then we would gather at Angie and talk about the whole thing. We always laughed at Karen for getting messages...that girl loves being worked over. I hope to post a few more pictures this week. Blessings, hope you had a fun Saturday. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie, Hortons looks so fun! I love vintage typewriters. Cindy sounds like a very talented lady. Glad you got to visit her!

DeleteSusie, you have such fun things going on around you. I've been to Horton's as well as the Earth festival and both are fabulous!
ReplyDeletePatty, I knew you had visited Horton's before. Have you ever went to the town of Kirkland? I remember you and your husband going to many antique shops around Indiana. I have been loving seeing all your art projects. You are so good at making cards. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI would love to visit that cute store!
ReplyDeleteCarrie, If you could visit Horton's, they would treat you so kindly. They are a family owned and operated store. I think you can find just about any thing there. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie! It was so fun meeting up with you and I thought we had a lovely visit. You didn't seem tired to me, so you did a good job of hiding it. I'm getting ready to post pics...but I didn't take any at Hortons. I knew you would do a good job so I'll just refer to your post! Thank you again for the adorable pumpkin. I'm hoping to get some fall decorations out this week. I love it. You are so thoughtful. We should meet for coffee sometime and just sit and chat.
ReplyDeleteCindy Bee
Cindy, It's my feet that wear out before I do. :):) Knew in my life dreamed I would have such problems...But I do now. Gee, I hope your Suge is better. We should do a post on men not wanting to see the dr. LOL I am glad you like the little pumpkin. I am not as crafty as you are. :) Yes, let's meet for coffee one day. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI would so love to visit that store! It is beautiful ♥

Summer, I wish you could go to one of the store's many market days. They will have Christmas Open House on Nov. 5th , 9-5,and Christmas Vender Market Dec 3rd, 9-4. Best fudge ever. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWhat a wonderful day you had at Horton's! Old friends to meet, such beautiful decorations, and all that FALL portrayed in one place. What a festive array, and I know you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI truly meant to head up that way this weekend, but we caught what my Mammaw used to call a "flying trip" to Michigan for Chris to fix a machine, so we spent the weekend in a fabulous whirl of Fairy Doors, beautiful scenery, welcoming shopkeepers, and even THREE wedding parties making photos out all around the charming little town of Northville.
Totally unexpected, and completely perfect in all the whimsy and charm.
And isn't this MONDAY a cool, FALL-feeling one?? I've just been outside for a bit, and it's really HERE.
rachel
Hi Rachel, If you ever come to Horton's let me know I will gladly meet up with you. Oh I know you must have really enjoy your trip to Michigan. My daughter Kathy live 3 miles from Michigan line. Viv, You would probably have your own booth at this store...you are so good at crafting. I have throw away, given away, and recycled many of my old decorations. :):) Bless you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWish we had a Hortons!!
ReplyDeleteMissy, I wish you could come and go some time. I was wishing I could have gone to the craft show you last helped with. :) Hope you are having some cooler weather. Today was heavenly...rain in our next 4 days forecast. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI agree with Missy and wish we had a Horton's here too. I love all the different vignette's-especially the old typewriter.Thank you for always sharing such wonderful finds-can't wait to see what you brought home.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Noreen, Thank you. I like to go to Horton's for flowers, plants and decorating ideas. I try not to bring home too many things....it's hard to do that. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHorton's seems a lot like a establishment here in the next town, Mahoney's Rocky Ledge Farm. My parents used to like to take trips there on Sunday's. Typewriter? what's a typewriter?
ReplyDeleteBoston Boy, I am know typewriter is an unheard of thing for the young. I saw a short clip about youngsters looking at a pay phone...they didn't know what it was . So funny. Hey go to that Mahoneys and get some pictures...that would make a nice post. Blessings to you, hope you are getting things put away. xoxo, Susie
DeleteI get to know Horton's a little better each time you share your photos. It looks like a delightful place to visit! I hope you're having a good week.
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, I like to get some nice pictures at Horton's...so I go a day early or so and I always ask to be permitted to get photos. This week'd weather is cooler and easy for this old girl to deal with...but then the rain came...I did sit outside while it rained...I was under the covered part of ur porch. I like to be outside to talk with God at times. Blessings to you, hope you are getting around better and sitting on your nice porch. xoxo, Susie
DeleteGlad you were able to meet up with a good friend and the girls. Love the photos and it just puts you in the mood for bon fires and wienie roasts!
