Remembering 9-11....

These are the reflecting ponds where the twins towers stood.  The names of those that died in the towers are on the walls of these ponds.
Let us never forget ...that we need to always be alert. Take time to think of the people who are no longer with us. Some moms, dads, friends ,and strangers.....who went to work one day and did not come home that evening.   Lives lost and other lives would never be the same again.
Today here is a pretty day and a bit cooler.  I am thankful for weather like this. XO

  1. I'll never forget that day, or where I was, or what I was doing. I remember calling my Dad, who was retired, to tell him we were under terrorist attack. He had been outside working and didn't have his tv or radio on.
Yes, great weather today! No rain either! FINALLY! I went to the pork festival last night but didn't see you. We listenend to Carl Storie. He's a good singer. I think you would like his music.

    1. Cindy, I usually only go to the fest on Friday afternoon. I was to go with my daughters then...but went to the drs. instead. Not feeling so great lately. I just checked the temps a bit ago and it was 58 at 10 o'clock. That is cool. I remember standing in my living room not even able to sit down...then I was screaming and hardly knew it . I knew when the first tower went the second would follow. So sad...and still makes me angry. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. Let us never forget indeed! I think for most of us that day is as horrifying and real to us as it was on the day it happened. God bless us all- xo Diana

  3. We all need to remember and never forget. With Terry being a first responder it hits home with us. Terry lost a good friend in 911. A very sad day in our country.

    1. Kris, I am so sorry for the loss of Terry's friend. When we were in NYC, we were near times square and walked past a fire department that lost every firefighter there in the 9-11 attacks. There was a plaque on the outside walk by the doors. That was sad. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Sylvia, I do pray for our leaders to be wise and do the right thing. I like to be a trusting person....but I don't feel that way toward all nations. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  6. It struck me today that young people do not remember 9/11, just like I was not alive during Pearl Harbor and WWII. 9/11 is surely a day etched in my memory even though I didn't know anyone involved. Praying for those who are grieving today.

    1. It is a sad memory for me too. I know in our Sunday Star paper, there were some teens asked about what they thought. One young girl said it was a bad thing for our country but helped pull us together. We pray that is so. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Jo(e), Time plays strange things with our memories...as you said it has been 15 years, yet does not seem that long ago. Hope you are doing well. Enjoy these last days of summer....next week it's officially autumn. Seems even summer flew by. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  8. It was a beautiful day here too today but still sad to remember the events of 15 years ago. My husband is from NYC and wants to go back to see the memorial. It will be sad even after all this time.

    1. Ann Marie, Oh yes, you and your husband need to go back to NYC and see the reflecting ponds and the new tower and the museum. The museum and tower were being built when we were there. I would love to go into the new tower. I love NYC and would visit every year if I could. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  9. Very sobering thoughts. Still seems impossible that it happened. But it did. And things have never been the same. Today's weather was absolutely perfect. More, more!

  10. Susie , this is a. very nice post . How can we forget ? What a shocking day. I thought it was weather related, then soon the next tower was hit. I worked at the airport and all flights were canceled...we were scared they might hit other buildings etc. But all those poor souls, my prayers are still for their friends and families.

    Blessings

    1. Gert, I can imagine the panic of working in an airport on that day. Seeing the horror at the time it was happening burns into the brain. We need to stay alert....always. Blessings to you, love, xoxo, Susie
