It's Winter, Again.....

Well it is very cold this morning, wind chills are single digit. But oh look at that sunshine and blue skies. Love it.
My daughter Karen gave me a wonderful box of chocolates for my birthday.   Do you see some missing? :):)

This is how I have been enjoying them. In the afternoon along with a cup of coffee.  Such a tasty treat.  This is one of the bad things of winter...not getting outside...so we are tempted .
When it's cold out, I will light candles on the kitchen window sill.  I still have a few birthday flowers .  So I love them along with the candle.
This past weekend was gray and dreary.  Two of my daughters complained about feeling sad. I think it's the long stretch till nice days and lack of sunshine. They both said they want to see the sun. LOL. I guess they are a lot like me.  (Plus we need to stop watching so much news)  I want the sunshine too. So today is going to be lovely to me.
Wishing all of you a beautiful new week. XO

I burn candles too in the winter. They give a feel of cozy. Love that your birthday flowers are hanging on.

    1. Kris, I felt like doing a happy dance this morning, when I saw the sunshine. Just lifts me up. I burn candles more in winter than any other time of year. I would never buy those multi colored daisies...but Ted did and I separated the color combos. Made it nicer.
shh. I am ready for taking some walks. LOL Blessings to you up there in Chicago. xoxo, Susie

  4. Happy birthday, dear Susie! Hope you had a great day. How nice to get that box of chocolates. You can make them last a long time by eating just one at a time. Don't know that I have that will power. The sun really makes a difference doesn't it? We are having a sunny day, but like your weather, it is cold. But Spring is only 56 days away!

    1. Thank you sweet Kathy. My birthday was actually a couple weeks ago...how fast is this month flying by? Yikes. I have had a chocolate everyday with my afternoon cup of coffee. Makes me feel special. :) I know that spring is ever so near and I am getting excited about that. I know you love to be able to puttered in your backyard and plant things....me too. But honestly the older I get the less I do. I am more into porch gardening. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  7. Oh, the dreariness of winter. My SIL was that same way, she just hated the sunless days. Course I do too..and try not to get depressed--easier said than done. I guess our temps are nice today, but the high winds make the wind chills feel...brrrr (smile) I have a doctors appointment tomorrow, I hope it will be nice. Stay well and warm and enjoy a chocolate for me...:)

    Blessings,

  9. Oh, dear!! We missed your birthday!!
While we were at the camper I got hungry for candy and did not have any! I must fix that!
We just got home today and I have felt a little blah. Doesn't help that both of us have had a bout with allergies since we left on Thursday.
Wishing you sunshine and happiness! And another box of chocolates!!

  10. Well, Happy Birthday, Susie! I don't think you told us ahead of time...or if you did I missed it!!

We had a bit of sun here today, too, but then it clouded up and we have had 4 or 5 " of new snow in the last 3 or 4 hours. UGH! So tired of winter. I'm with all of you-dreary and sad that winter is so long.
Have a good week- xo Diana

  13. Going to ft Myers area next week for sunshine. If you book your trip far enough in advance you can get tickets for $178.00 round trip through Southwest. That's cheaper than hotels! We've had too many dark days this winter.

  14. We here were reminded that it's still winter as we got about an inch of snow. It's been warmer than usual around here with very little snow...so far. As I write the it's about 40 degrees.
It's still about 4 months until Arlene and I can take a vacation. You know where.

    1. Boston Boy, I am amazed at the mild winter you are having , as well as we are in Indiana. Today was 41 here. If it would snow now I'd go into shock. That 4 months will fly by. It's be a great time...you know you two have never let the weather bother you at the Vineyard. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  15. What a nice gift from your daughter, Susie. Chocolate and coffee during the day is the best treat. I love how you light your candles on your window sill on dreary days. And I bet your flowers brighten your house up when it's overcast and cold outside. They are so pretty.
