Putting Things Away....

Here's some of the gifts Ted and I received.....now it is put away.  Some times that is a job. .LOL. That's why we should always sort and donate, when  we  bring more things into our home.  Some things were needed, some wanted, some for fun or decorations.
This is not all of the dining gift cards we received. We got more when Kathy, Korey and Ashley  came to lunch. I think the children are afraid Ted and I may go hungry. :):)  Even  if we did for a couple weeks , it would not kill us. Ha.  Plus we received Wal-Mart and Kohl's certificates.  We will certainly use them all.  I think we will treat some of the children with these gift cards ...when eating out.
I took my time getting the last of the Christmas put away....whew...it's done. Had to go to the stores and buy groceries and laundry detergent. We are done with that for a while. Ran into the neighbor lady at the store , talked for a bit...I do not like to stand around talking in the stores. I like to get what I need and get out. But I can't be rude, so I talk a bit.  Then saw  daughter Angie getting some healthy foods to start their year off right.  Had to have hugs then. :):):)  She had just come from her Zumba class. Keeps herself in great shape.
Hope everyone is getting a good start to their new year.  I am trying to get a jump on birthdays now. Some coming up this month.  Wishing everyone well. XO

    1. Gert, I think decorating can be fun...but seem to drag my feet on taking it all down. At least we clean as we go, that helps. Ted and I got a couple Red Lobster gift cards...I know you and Tom loved going there together. I will usually leave snowmen décor out...but this year I put it all away. I am thinking of buying a small bouquet of flowers each week till spring....which is only 77 days from now. :):) Blessings to you sweet friend, stay safe , xoxo, Susie

  3. Putting away Christmas decorations just about did me in! I am not that elaborate with mine either, so can't imagine the time and energy for those who are more so. What a great bunch of gifts you got. How nice it must be to run into a family member at the grocery store. Hugs would definitely be in order. Happy New Year to you.

    1. Nonnie, It is more of a chore to decorated and take down than most will admit. LOL. I am glad to have it done . I only decorate for seasons and Christmas. I may do a table scape at other holidays. I have been laughing with my daughter about turkey sandwiches. So she told me she was buying sliced turkey also. Thank you for the new year wishes. Blessings to you, hope your year is starting well. xoxo, Susie

  4. You made out like a bandit with all those gift cards! Those are easy to store right in your wallet and take up a tiny amount of space!
We are in the throes of taking Christmas down. It feels like a spring day here with the doors all open and the birds singing. I can hear my neighbors next door ( you remember Stephanie!) as they are watching football and grilling in their back yard. They invited us over and we will clean up and walk over in a little while. They have a fire pit and are burning some really nice piñon wood. We are going to the camper in the morning and I'm looking forward to it. Right now I'm in the gazebo resting with my feet up and catching up on your blog posts! Wishing you a wonderful 2017! Love and prayers always!

    1. Linda, We have had mild temperatures here ..like mid 40's. For winter that is sweet and I love it. Last night we had a thunder shower. Foggy this morning. The past year and into this one has been foggy. I never remember foggy days like we had last year.(2016) That sounds like fun with your neighbors. :):) I hope we can all get our feet rested. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Diana, I know it sounds crazy...but I love getting Wal-Mart cards...they have everything in those stores. Ted and I will just put the cards in his truck and get one out when we want to eat out. Funny how when people get old ...but hey I'll take gift cards over old smelly perfumes and house slippers. LOL. My daughter's son Jake is finally taking an interest about eating healthier also. Makes me happy. Blessings to all there, xoxo, love , Susie

I did get one gift card (Starbucks) from my son, and it was one of my favorite presents. :) I bet it felt good getting the last of the Christmas stuff put away. I did that as well. 1. Sheri, I usually see my sisters at the grocery. It's our biggest grocery store in this little town..so everyone shops there. There's a Starbucks in the next town and Ted has a card for it...we better use it soon. It is fun to have the dining cards handy. Hope your new year is starting well fro you. It's been pleasant temperatures here. Mid Forties. that is nice for winter. Snow is being predicted later this coming week. Stay safe. Blessings to you honey. xoxo, love, Susie

  10. I guess we are all taking down and putting away... Love gift cards. I see you have one for Red Lobster, we got one of those this year.

Spent the day with our daughter since all her guys were at the Rose Bowl game. A good way to start the year. And the team we were rooting for won...in the last seconds of the game. That was fun.

I know winter is going to get us...but I want to get out on these good days....foggy today. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  18. Looks like your grocery bill will be considerably less after Christmas. LOL I love getting gift cards. This year I received an Amazon gift card - always a treat! I'm finally putting things away except for the tree with lights only. I can't bear to part with it yet. Have a wonderful week, Susie! You're right: Mr. C. and son do look alike. :-))

  19. Hi Susie, Loved catching up; looks like you got a card load of gift cards-makes meals so easy. We took down all of our decorations on Monday and I have to say this was the first year I didn't want to take them down. However, I did leave some quilted wall hangings up that are more wintery than Christmas.
    Hope your week is fantastic.

I know you are probably as cold as we are. Is it summer yet? Yikes I cannot wait for January and February to be over and Spring hopefully to arrive early for us here in the midwest.

  22. Hi Susie. Putting everything away is the hard part. Seems like we just brought it out! I'm still staggering around boxes. You got some great gifts. I think it is always nice to get gift cards for restaurants or coffee shops. We get and give a few Starbucks cards. I'm with you about grocery shopping, it is bad enough to have to do it let alone spending more time there than you have to..Happy New Year..Judy
