Donated Decorations...

This is the gazebo in our park.  Many people come here for photo shoots.   Especially during prom time. Or engagement pictures. All the Christmas decorations in our park are donated by our townspeople.
Here's a couple old snowmen. They make me smile.
A nativity scene too. I love these .   You can see the grass is green, no snow. I took these pictures before our snow .
I always love the bright red bows with the greenery on this white fencing. You can see some play ground equipment in the back ground.
Just about every lamp post has a banner on it. Some say Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, and some just have Christmas scenes.
Here is a little Santa and some candy canes along side the restrooms. I think our city has decided to renovate those restrooms and not tear them down.  Good idea.
This is the maintenance building. Where the park superintendent and his crew work.  They are a bunch of hard workers who take pride in our park. So thankful for them.
There's many more little scenes made up of the decorations, through out the park.  Vandals tear some up every year .  Young people who need jobs, some times have too much time on their hands.
Wishing everyone a pretty day. XO

  1. I love that gazebo! Too bad about the vandalism in public places. It even happens on private property, or it did with our neighbor one Christmas when someone cut the inflatables he had for a display.:-( Too much anger everywhere! May you have a blessed Thanksgiving! xo Nellie

  3. wow, your park decorates for Christmas - how wonderful, Susie. I like the little snowmen, and the nativity set is very nice. Do you know that I love gazebos? Many of them are so old and tell the history of the city. That would have been a nice background for Jess' engagement photo. The red bows along the white fence are so pretty.

I wanted to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, Susie. I appreciate all your comments, and you are such a dear woman with a good heart. I'm so thankful to have you in my life every day. : )

Thank you for the kind wishes for thanksgiving... I wish you and your family , and also Arlene and hers a blessed thanksgiving. Don't eat too much. I usually just eat some dressing and white meat of the turkey....so I can have a dessert. LOL. Bless you Paul, xoxo,Susie

  6. Susie, love when the communities come together and do great things, especially the pretty ones..As sad as it may seem there will always be someone who can't stand to leave alone what doesn't belong to them. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family..xo Judy

    1. Judy, I think most vandalizing is done by young men who need to find work. Some of the donated things and been wrecked beyond repair. Too bad for the others that love to see this. Like young families driving their little ones around to view the sights. I remember mom taking all of us kids about town to see decorations. Blessings to you and yours for a lovely thanksgiving day. xoxo,Susie

    1. Hi Noreen, I like that they reused old decorations that might have been tossed away. The park crews try to keep them up dated. Blessings for a great thanksgiving day.. xoxo,Susie

  9. What a nice park for the community! You have snow? I must have missed some posts. We have a little park by the river. Every year a Nativity goes up and every year, without fail, someone steals Baby Jesus.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  13. That's sweet that your park has decorations donated. Small towns struggle with a variety of financial issues and this makes a lot of sense and shows community pride!
