Fast Moving.....

Wednesday looked like this about all day long. Clouds so low you would think you could touch them.  So dark at 4:30 , our dusk to dawn light came on.

Then just at about 4:45 the clouds started lifting from the horizon ,showing us so rays of sunshine.
Looking towards town, you can see the clouds are breaking fast. All rolling and wispy. Making an odd glow on everything.
Then It seems to be getting cloudy again....this is all happening in about 20 to 30 minutes.
Now you can see some patches of blue thru the clouds.
The sun is setting and looking so promising for a better day on Thuirsday.
I thought the white clouds here appeared as snow capped mountains. LOL
As the sun sinks, it is leaving a beautiful sky .  The air got a bit cooler.  I stayed out till it was about dark. After being in the house almost all day, other than righting the trash can and getting the mail, it was good to be outside.
Yesterday was a beautiful day. Today is looking wonderful...but there's something headed our way. I do not even want to think of it, but it is sss-no-ow. I am thinking of our friends a bit farther north. Chicago is going to get  hit.  So these photos may be my fair well to autumn 's beauty.
My granddaughter Lynzie's ,whose  baby is due in the first week of December....yesterday made a trip to the doctor...she may have the baby sooner.  I am so nervous.
   Be safe today everyone. XO

    1. Vee, Maybe it's my age now, but winter doesn't appeal to me . I love all the holidays, just not the cold and snow. So I am not ready for it either. Hopefully we will get breaks of good weather throughout the winter season. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  2. Those are fantastic photos! I love the one with the "mountain range". You said the "S" word. Way too soon for that in my humble opinion. We are in the 50s and 60s here. I think being in a city between two rivers keeps it warmer.

    1. Hi Kathy, With winter approaching, I have thought about how nice it will be for you to retire and never have to scrap windows or worry of road conditions. That's plus, right? I went back to the library today. Put some bid in on a couple nice baskets. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  3. Susie,

Thank you for the sweet thoughts and prayers about getting our kitchen finished up before Christmas---I was trying to say that five of our Chillun will be here tomorrow for the week (other answered prayers: This Family of them are moving back within an hour-and-a-half of us---closest of any of the clan except for the two here in town). And I'd just had ENOUGH of stuff in the floor for ONE year, and it felt so hopeless trying to clean around it, so we decided to have the cabinets put up, cancel the electrician altogether, and start over after Christmas. I felt such a relief as soon as we decided, so I'm in a much better frame of mind--no more WHINE for me!!

Hope your own Thanksgiving is WONDERFUL, especially with another new little person to join your family.

    1. Rachel, I wish all my girls lived closer..they are not so far...but it would be nice if it was just in town here. I know you'll like having them close. I know what you mean about some peace of mind when it holiday time...that is enough stress in it's self. Blessings for a fun weekend, xoxo,Susie

  4. Oh Susie, I always love your photos of the sky and clouds, and sunsets. Those clouds really do look like a mountain range. How neat is that that you captured it from beginning to end. I hope you don't get too much snow. It was a beautiful day here today and last I saw, it was 70. Blessings.

  5. Thank you Nonnie. I just told my husband , yesterday, as I was doing drive by photos(LOL) that I could just take sun sets and sun rises and cloud photos and make cards of them. I tried to do lots of things outside today...just to be in the last nice day...but you realize how the weather changes. My daughter drove to Chicago today to be near the airport for her flight tomorrow...because they predicted 6-8 inches of snow. She just emailed me that it has started yet. I hope she makes her flight to SLC, Utah tomorrow. She is spending the holiday with her son and DIL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. The clouds are beautiful, Susie. I wish I could sit there on that big front porch of yours and talk the day away. It really looks kept up and very nice. The fourth picture looks like there is fire in the sky, so lovely.

Have a blessed weekend, dear friend.

    love, ~Sheri

  8. Hi Susie. Love the sky pictures. Amazing. It was pretty here today...a little cooler, but nice. We had our Thanksgiving Party at the Clubhouse, so I was busy this morning making an apple and pecan pie.

Love having a new baby on the way.

    1. Diana, I saw flurries this morning. hopefully it all goes north of here. LOL. Not as far north as you girl. I did see where Chicago was really going to have a big snow. My daughter got to the airport to catch her flight to Utah. Now I can breath. I can't wait to see Lynzie's baby...hoping it has her beautiful blue eyes. Blessings, be safe if you have to go out in the snow, xoxo,Susie

  11. I'm late to the party again. Very nice shots. We have been having warmer than usual weather setting us up for a big surprise one of these days. As long as it's not 9 feet of snow like last winter. Ugh!

    1. Paul, I am hoping you are not in for a big winter like last year's. I know we have been lucky compared to last year's early snow..but I am so over the joy of snow since last year. LOL> Blessings, xoxo,Susie
