Fall Today/ Winter Tomorrow.....

This morning there's some fog and the temps are really on the warm side. It rained last night and tomorrow snow is in our forecast.  What a crazy winter we have had.
This is looking toward Tipton. I can always see the courthouse thru the opening between the woods and the group of three trees.  Not today !!
Looking east down our road. I love those big oak tree in the neighbor's yard.
Sweetness shows itself in odd places sometimes.  This little viola planted itself in the bricks . It's January little fellow.
Here's his sister too. :):) I have been enjoying watching these flowers , to see how long they could last.  Tomorrow  if it snows, as predicted, may be it's last hoorah.  I have notice there's some of these violas starting by the pond area too. I may harvest them to put into my flowerbeds. LOL.
I went to bingo with my sisters yesterday, at the Senior Center . We had some good laughs.  A  man we grew up with was at our table.  Floyd is a good person. He was a slow learner in school and many people have made fun of him all his life. But never my family. One of the other men at the center asked Floyd , "Is Susie your girlfriend or are all of  this women your girlfriends ?"  Without hesitation Floyd says, "They're all my girlfriends. "  Bless his sweet heart.
Who could ever be mean to a person who was born with a learning disability? I knew the story of Floyd 's  birth from  his older sister.  She told me Floyd was born early from a beating his mother received  from his father. How cruel. How sad. I will always be Floyd's friend.
Good wishes for your weekend. XO

  1. I'm glad Floyd has so many girlfriends. Good for him! And good for you being his friend.

How cute those little violas are. I hope you can rescue them before the snow comes. Isn't the weather strange this year?

    1. Kathy, Floyd took care of his Mom and lived with her till she had to go to a home and she passed. I think he is lost without her. So he goes to the senior center for lunch and visiting. He worked for our city for 35 years. Someone he had helping him with his finances took advantage of him and gambled some of his money away. He had to have a lawyer help him. I could scream when I think of that. Blessings to you, xoxo Susie

  2. You live in such a beautiful area, Susie! It's amazing how flat it is there compared to where I live, what a nice road that would be to go for a long walk!!

  3. Love your foggy pics and the sweet viola.

How sad to go through life being known as the slow learner and how sad that people take advantage of such people. Blessings to you.

    1. Hi Nonnie, I was just going to blog about the fog...but I have been thinking of Floyd since yesterday. When Floyd and I were in first grad together...there was not special ed. or anything like that. He would put a check mark for every word in spelling. I remember the teacher told us if everyone got an "A" she would give us a lollipop..bless her heart, she gave Floyd an "A" also. So the class all had a lollipop .This man knows no strangers and everyone in town knows him. :):) Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Kay, I am not even sure he can read, as we had no special classes when he was in school. But he always says hello to my siblings and I . He rides a little scooter around town, never drove a car his whole life. But he minds the rules of the road. he can care for himself. Thank goodness, I am afraid someone could be mean to him and that would break my heart. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie

  6. Susie, Your foggy pictures reminded me of ours the other morning only you could see further then I could. People helping people means a lot now days, but you always have some who are to good to help others. I always try to treat to people how I want to be treated. I enjoyed catching up with you today. The cold weather is coming but we haven't had but very few snow flurries. Take care.Hugs and prayers from Your Missouri Friend Shirley

    1. Shirley, Oh yes I know what you are saying, when the fog is thick and I have to go to town, I have to take a completely different route....so as not to be pulling out onto a busy road where you can't see far. Shirley you treat people how God Intended us all to do. Bless your sweet heart, xoxo,Susie

    1. BJ, Back when we went to school, my family was teased because we had very little. I think can just be mean now, hidden behind their electronics. Sad. I think Floyd knows we will all be kind to him, so he was enjoying sitting with us. I saw him make the coffee for everyone there.:) I think we have had some weird weather ..I am amazed at how much rain you got there this year. Glad you are snug there. Blessings to all, xoxo,Susie

  8. Frankly Susie, I think we should all have a 'Floyd' in our lives. We could learn a lot about compassion and kindness from just such a soul. May God Bless you for loving a friend (who has too many girlfriends) LOL! Blessings to you, Cindy

    1. Cindy, If we had treated Floyd mean while growing up our mother would have cracked our heads together. So we learned to be nice, maybe by fright at first. LOl. But I do remember Floyd as our neighbor and from my first grade class. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. I am glad he's our friend. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  9. Floyd could not have a better friend in his life than you, Susie. We grew up with a cousin like that and always enjoyed him. He appreciated all the simple things in life and had a wonderful, wicked sense of humor.

We had fog all day yesterday- heavy fog but it was clear today.

Hope your year is great so far! xo Diana

    1. Thank you Jackie. Being teased is hard when you are a kid. There's not a kid out there that would not want to be loved by family, friends and classmates. I just try to be nice all the time. We know it's not always easy but a smile goes a long way too. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  13. Suzie, Floyd is blessed to have a friend like you! I agree, how can anyone be meant to anyone? I have little Violas that pop up all over in the Spring. Doubt any are buried under our mound of snow. lol!

    1. Jann, I know Floyd likes my sisters and I. We all talk with him and he just smiles. I hope all the little flowers can come back after the snows. I know the snow packed mountains has to do with your water supplies. I think Ca. is like that also. Snow with warmth is better that than Artic stuff. :)Blessings to all pof you, xoxo,Susie

  14. You have such a kind sweet heart, Susie! I don't think you could be mean to anyone - no matter if they were good or bad!
Your fog is beautiful. We had some here the other day but my photos didn't show it very well.
Our flowers were all blooming at home when we left last week. I wonder if they still are. We have finally had some freezing temps!

    1. Linda, I some times bite my tongue, rather than be mean. I won't let anyone walk on me, I'll stanmd my ground if need be... But when it's something that one can just let slide...but to do that than say mean things. But with a kind person like Floyd, I'll never understand anyone being mean to him.
Today the snow and wind mixed and it was a nasty blinding mess. I know I should not complain...it's only 70 days till spring. LOL. Blessings to all of you there, xoxo, love you, Susie

  15. Oh Susie, that's so sad about Floyd, and he seems like such a sweet person. You just never know what one goes through in a family; his poor mother.

That is a pretty flower growing through the bricks. That must have made you smile to see it pop up like that. I think the fog is so pretty in its own strange way.

So glad you are my blog friend, Susie. And it's nice that you treat Floyd with respect. You're a very special gal.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Oh, I wanted to ask, is this the last of the snow for the season? It's only January - I thought it snowed more there in the winter? That seems like a short winter to have with the snow. :)
