Pretty Day...

The sun shined today. Oh boy I loved it. My daughter Karen and her children came today. We visited for a while then we all went to dairy queen for lunch. Karen called Angie and had her join us. What  great fun it was too.  Skylar is healing very well and close to being his old self.  I sat out side here on the porch in the sun after they had gone home.  Yes, it was cold and I wore a coat....but the sun was warm on my face. Even though this snowman was next to me. LOL. He is going to storage tomorrow.
I pulled all the fake poinsettias out of the containers, but left the evergreen pieces. Took all the plaid bows off things also. You can see how pretty the skies were today. Love it when the sun shines.  It's been cloudy since Christmas day. Hope  you enjoyed a nice day also.  XO

  1. HI Susie, Happy New Year to you, sounds like you've started it off perfectly. Our sky looks like yours and sitting inside where we get the winter sun keeps me warm. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Thank you Noreen. I thought today after the children left...that was a good day and I am blessed. Being with any of my daughters and /or their children just makes me smile. Then to have sunshine too. Extra good. I just now filled the bird feeders and it's plenty cold out now that the sun is setting. Bless you and yours, xoxo,Susie

  2. Susie, you're so lucky that you can just call your daughters and they will come right over. I live in the same town as my brothers and sister, so I know how it is being close to family. But my daughters live in another town (not too far away though). I bet the sun felt so good shining on your face when you were sitting on your porch today having the cold weather that you are. It's been pretty cold here too.

Thank you for your compliment on my bird photos. They sit still for me sometimes, but other times fly away much too quickly.

Have a peaceful weekend, dear Susie.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Sheri, My twins live 36 miles away and Kathy lives a two hour drive away. ...but Angie my oldest lives in Tipton, our hometown. I wish all my daughters lived closer. #6 miles is a big distance but it's far enough in bad weather . I had to fill our bird feeders today...they were empty and the birds just were not coming around. I miss them. Hope your weekend is nice and enjoyable. It's just great to have sunshine. I have already counted the days till spring and it's 78 more days. That should go fast enough. Blessings sweet girl, love you, xoxo,Susie

    1. I always prefer the sunshine. It doesn't have to be hot or warm...but sitting in the sun when it's cold , you will still feel it's warmth. Glad you had some sunshine too...it's not been the best weather...but I have thanked my Lord that we did not flood here...even though there were warnings for days. Blessings to you dear friend, xoxo,Susie

  4. Oh, I love that shade of the blue sky.
Does the snow man has to go in the storage? Awe - - - Winter has just begun. You know your plans though. Just had a thought and I gave it a try. Can't help but love a snow man.
Happy New Year to you and yours !

    1. Munir, That is one of the reason I like seasonal decorations....I could leave this snowman out all winter. I normal do. But I sneak and count the days till spring and it's only 77 days away. So I will spend the rest of this winter thinking of things to do in spring. Best to start with everything put away that can be. I want to transplant some old plants and I want to plant another tree or two this year...plus you know the hickory tree out front will have to come down before spring..best while the ground is frozen. Blessings to you and yours for a healthy new year. xoxo,Susie

    1. Gert, I wish our children wouldn't move so far away....but it seems some like to venture. My daughter that is more like me lives the farthest away. She and I both love crafting and junking....the other three, no so much. I keep telling Ted we need to sell the house and buy a camper and a long electrical cord....then go visit each kid and plug in for a couple weeks. Just keep moving from one kid's house to the other. LOL. Wishing you good days, love, Susie

Cold weather is finally here after unseasonally warm temps. I like the change of seasons but not the single digit cold.

    1. Viv, I do not mind my face being cold...it hurts my fingers if it's zero temps. But if the sun is out I can at least stand on the porch saying my prayers or sit in the sun for a few moments. We are to get flurries soon. xoxo, Susie
