We Have Company....

This is Emma two years ago....she was ten. Next month our baby granddaughter will be twelve. Time has grown wings. Some times I wish it would slow down.
Here she is piled up with papaw in his recliner.  She came to spend a few days of her spring break with us.  She is giving me the peace sign and showing papaw some things she saw at the Aquarium in Chicago last weekend. I do not know how much longer that recliner will hold the both of them. :):)
Emma is into art...which I love. She's been drawing in her sketch books for about a year now.. This is a robin she drew for me last evening. I am sure she'll make some more fun things while here.
The sun is shining here. We did not get the snow that was predicted for yesterday. Oh we are lucky.   Hope all of you are able to enjoy this 1st day of spring.  XO

    1. I love all the time with my grandkids... getting fewer visits, as they grow and want to be with their friends more than grandparents. That's the hard part...when their days of begging to stay all night come to an end. Here first time to stay...she told papaw to scooch over , so she could sit with him in his recliner. To this day she still loves to share his chair. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  3. How sweet having those kids stay with us. I keep telling them they must please stop growing. It makes me sad/happy at the same time watching them grow up so quickly. And we are all squeezing into our chairs here, too. Tell Emma she a great little artist.

    1. Nonnie, I know that happy/sad feeling too well. I try to squeeze Emma down, so she can't grow so fast and we laugh about it...but I some times feel like crying. She always has to share papaw's chair. Since the first time she came over. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. BJ, My Emma has grown so much the past two years...it breaks my heart...especially if I think of her not ever staying here again. She's to the point where she wants to spend time with her friends and not so much time here. But I still love to hear her tell papaw ," Scooch over." and she sits in the recliner with him . They grow too quickly. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Debby, One day and I am wore out...it's the picking up, laundry, hair washing....then combing out the tangles. LOL. Her mom's hair was twice as thick when she was this age...I would some times be in tears by the time I washed my daughters' head and combed the tangles out.But they all had pretty hair. Oh it would also roll around the beater bars on the sweeper, lock it up and burn the pulling belt off. YIKES. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  12. Our two granddaughters, 3 1/2 and 1 1/2, were here visiting us last weekend and it was wonderful! I'm sure it will seem no time until they turn 12.

What a blessings these visits are! All the tech advances are great for keeping in touch but there's nothing like sitting in a recliner together!

    1. Patty, I wish you could have time with any little ones in your family. They grow fast enough when we are watching them. I have a grandson that I never had lots of time with, because of distance and my job back then....but the times we had were special to us both. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
