I thought I would play around creating a centerpiece for our summer table . It's so close to 4th of July, I decided to use a rough old fashioned water pitcher. I used two tea stained flags, in it.
A sampler print matted in blue.. Cream and red doilies, on a blue napkin. All this on what I call a picnic tablecloth. The cardinal salt & pepper shakers. Some dishes with blue motifs.
Then I tried the little white pitcher with red strawberry trim. A small chalkboard, with summer written on it. This is how I left it....I know I'll be changing it up again. Oh I also used some dried carnations.
Going to my daughter Karen's today. We may go to the park and then to lunch. Or we may just do lunch. Karen pulled a muscle in her back while fishing, so she may not be up to going to the park. We hate to see our children not feeling well.
Today is to be our hottest day this year. Stay cool. XO
So sorry about your daughter's bad back. Going to lunch, she "should" bring an ice "bag," to keep on her back. I love ice, for my back! :-))))
ReplyDeleteHottest day so far for you. Here, we are in a weird cool spell. Have to get out the winter shirts again, and turn the heat on in the morning. Silly, silly weather.
Have a lovely Saturday!
Tessa
Tessa, Thankfully Karen's back was good and we made it to the park/zoo...and had a great lunch. She's a trooper too. I am in shock about your weather. Mountain Mama said she had turned the heat back on, last night. This was a hot day. I was heated once we got in the car to go to lunch. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteReally nice, love the cardinals. Guess I'll have to get started on my 4th of July table too.
ReplyDeleteJanet, What's funny is I'll probably changed that table out again before the fourth...but I know I will leave the flags in the old silver pitcher. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh Susie..how delightful! I love your table setting!! Very summery! You are so gifted! I hope your daughter is feeling better...and would love to see a picture of that fish she pulled in...lol (sorry..I know it's not funny to have back pain! But being an ex fisher woman I just had to throw that in...lol) Stay cool, it's to be close to 100 here today..sad.. So I will have to stay home.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and be safe,
Gert,
Gert, I laughed about what you said...like it was a big fish that threw her back out...the truth , a couple trees had fell over the trail to the fishing hole and she crawled under and felt her back pull as she stood up. I used the be able to out fish my brothers. I had some great times fishing. I know you must have also. I hope the super heat doesn't stay around. I wear out easily when it's hot. Blessings, stay cool. xoxo, love, Susie
DeleteSummer heat, good excuse to go to lunch and skip the park. Table setting is very nice.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, We did go on to the park, before the real heat hit us and before the crowds. We had a relaxing good lunch. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI am sorry to hear about Karen's back. I hope it heals quickly. And your table is absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. I think Karen is on her way back to normal. I think she pulled a muscle when she crawled under some fallen tress to get to the fishing pond. She did well today and never complained. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteVery patriotic centerpieces. I guess I'm somewhat of a dud on those things. I'm not much of a decorator, but I enjoy seeing the different ways you experiment with. Im sorry about your daughter's back.
ReplyDeleteNonnie, I normally have a candle or vase of flowers as a center piece. But Carol of Art and Sand has been making tablescapes and I just loved seeing them and thought I'd try too. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWow, you're having a hot day and I'm sitting in my house freezing today! I had to turn the furnace back on and crank up the heat!! Hope your daughter feels better real soon. xo
ReplyDeleteI am amazed that you had to turn the heat back on. What is up with our crazy weather?? Today was plenty hot here. It got to 91 here so far today. Karen was feeling better when I got to her house and we had the best day. Bless you honey, I know you are working hard with your gardens and flower beds and animal fighting, so I am thinking of you. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThis is a cute centerpiece, and it goes well for the fourth of July. I love those little cardinals. Oh, is it that time already? It will be here before we know it, Susie. Loving all the red, white, and blue on your table. :)
