Morning Skies...

I had to be up early for this shot...it's 6:15 am. We are in for severe weather today. As I got out of bed and saw the bright skies, I jumped into my sweats and shoes and out the door I went. This is out front. The rain was moving from the west, so the rising sun created a rainbow.  I asked Ted to take the flag down yesterday in prep of today's storms.
The sun is coming up .you can see the dust to dawn light is still on at the shop. It was lightening out , so I took some quick shots . LOL
This from the back door, the skies were turning from pink to orange.
One more shot from the front before running in the house. It was already raining. Ted was laughing at me the whole time. I told him when the skies are changing that fast, you have to be fast too.
Yesterday was a nice day all day long. The lawn man came and treated the yard around 9:00 in the morning. We got a couple chores done, then went to Kokomo for lunch at Cracker Barrel. Using up some of our gift cards.  We went to Lowe's to get lumber for a project Ted is making for a friend. While Ted looked at lumber, I looked at flowers and patio things.  Then I helped Ted load the lumber and things into the truck.  It's always nice to help each other. I love to smell  new lumber. :):)
I am praying we are all safe today...I really do not want to go to the basement. I guess I could do some sorting down there if I have to . LOL. I better check the flash lights. . Be safe. XO

    1. Ann, Glad the storms missed your area. Theyare saying if the sun comes out between rains then we may have more severe storms, possible tornadoes. Hope it stays cloudy today then. :) Be safe if you are out and about. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  3. Beautiful photos! I am amazed at the beauty that God provides us! Stay safe. It was really dark out when I got up due to the incoming storms, nothing like your photos here. Finally is a little brighter- the calm before the storm I guess.

    1. Carol, When I see things of beauty in nature...I know that God loves us all. We had a really heavy rain on Monday, yesterday was nice and today will be the worse day. I carried all my containers , that I could lift, to safety. Out of the way of super downpours or hail. Be safe today. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. We had a heavy rain early and waiting for the worse to come and get out of here....hoping no tornadoes. But Al Roker said it could be a 250 miles long wind filled storm. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  5. Your photos are amazing! And I certainly applaud your dedication, to photography, for your blog! :-)))))

I wish you and everyone in your area, well today. Oh sigh... I now wish I knew exactly where you are located, so I could watch some weather reports.

Be safe. Be safe. Be safe.

and if you have power, please be sure to pop on line, and let us know, all is well, when it is over.

    Many gentle hugs,

    1. Tessa, This morning it rained after I got the pictures. Rained heavy for a bit. The worst is to come later. The weatherman says if the sun does not come out and warm things up, which will make bad storms. We might be in luck. Al Rocker said this morning that the system coming thru Illinois into Indiana and then on to Ohio could have a 250 mile long high wind storm. Hope not. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Laurie, I do not mind lightening storms. it's the treat of hail and high winds, possibly tornadoes that I don't like. It was a surprise when I saw the rainbow. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

  8. Praying you are safe as well. What a beautiful sunrise! My mom used to say that if there was a red sky in the morning, it was a sailors warning(but we lived in Ca. so that makes sense).

    1. Noreen, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that rainbow. We have had rain on and off all day....hoping the storms are mild this afternoon and evening. The weatherman said if it stayed cloudy the changes of really severe storms would be less...so far no sunshine. I am happy about that. And you know I love sunshine. :) Thank you for the prayers...it means a lot to me. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Diane, This morning was some lightening and rain...it's this late afternoon and evening that could get scarier. The weatherman said if it styed cloudy we would have less severe weather. So far the sun has not shone today. So possibly that will be good for us. I am ready for nice days again. LOL. I hate worrying about losing power and hail. I did bring most of my plants out of harm's way. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  11. Thanks for stopping by. Gosh those are beautiful sky pictures. Hard to believe there is a storm coming. Hope it was not too bad. We had our lawn treated also...not happy with the results as yet...there are still weeds growing and I shall have to spread some seed because there are not a lot of bare spots....did we have that many weeds??? Sounds like you had a nice day. I was in Kokomo years ago, even thought of moving there when I was much younger...just loved the name...Kokomo....(smile)

    1. Louise, That is so funny that you almost moved to Kokomo. It was named after an Indian chief. Chryslar and G.M. have factories there. The G.M. plant is nothing compared to what it once was. We have a weed that is just getting worse...and the lawn man has yet to treat it. It's starting to make me mad. We had a different company last year. They did nothing to suit me. LOL. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Thank you Mildred. The sun has popped out and I am afraid it will heat things up and then we will have storms. Well I think we are in for them anyway, they will just be worse with the heating up of the ground. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  14. Wow those were beautiful shots of the skies. I've jumped out early in the morning to take pictures in my garden but the woods act as a screen when the sun rises so I don't get a clear view. I heard about these storms and I hope you won't get battered about by them too much. Stay safe.

  15. Susie - Hope your weather wasn't too bad today. Your photos are just gorgeous. I too, love the smell of new wood.

  17. What a glorious sky, Susie! These pictures really made my heart sing, they are sooooo pretty. I can see why you got your camera and jumped outside to take pictures of this. You usually take pics of the sunsets, but isn't it nice seeing the sunrise come up in the morning? Oh, I just love these pictures, Susie, I really do.

  18. I was up and out earlier today, too, Susie, with the severe weather forecasts. I'm sitting here now at 11 p.m. and thankfully the tornados missed us. Most of the tornados (and there were over 6) touched down west of us. I know they picked up near Indiana so I hope all of you are safe.
