Well, I think the rose food did help my rose . It is looking somewhat better. Not great but better. :)
I tried to get a good picture, it was so windy. The leaves are even looking healthier. I need to get some miracle -grow for other plants here.
Wow, this week seems to have jumped from Monday to now. Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend ...now on to the next one. June has arrived ..praying it is a pleasant month for all. Too much heat here and too much rain there, freak storms all over. Yes, I am believing in global warming. I believe in dredging ditches, creeks and rivers....building outlets for run off of rains.
Some running to do today...in a car , not in sneakers. LOL. Grocery and pharmacy. Wishing all of you a happy day. XO
I like the idea of dredging ditches, creeks and rivers for flood waters to have a place to run off.
ReplyDeleteLinda, It seems with global warming there's more water ...it'll have to go somewhere. Every farmer around here puts in drains to get another bushel of whatever and that water goes in the ditches and sometimes on the roads. The city south of here has made car lots, shopping centers and many more housing additions...the water has to go somewhere. The river thru their town has flooded many times...what made them think it still would not after all that concrete was poured. LOL. Well honey, you how people really do not think beyond-
Deletemine-mine-mine !!! Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Your rose is pretty. A fully bloomed rose is just as pretty as a bud in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteKathy, I love roses...but I have yet to grow any that do well. I had one in town I could not kill...I think it was just in the best spot. Hope you are enjoying some wonderful flowers. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Deletep.s. can you even believe it's June?
thats such a lovely rose,,have a good day running errands,,
ReplyDeleteLaurie, I got many coupons at the CVS store..saved lots. So that made me smile. Hope your day was good. Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie
DeleteMy husband loves to spray Miracle Grow on his flowers.
ReplyDeleteSo glad yours, seem happier, after you applied some.
Our weather is back to 70's and it is being enjoyed. After that heat wave.
Oh the awful weather which some are experiencing. -sigh-
Don't *run too far*! Or no one will know, where you were off to. >,-)))))
Tessa
-blush- I know! I know! That was such a lame joke.
Delete-more blushing-
Tessa
Hi Tess, I once worked with a fellow who would say< "I could stretch a mile, but I would probably have to walk back," I always laughed. I still think that is funny. Scary weather again in Texas. It's is raining here now. But it was forecasted for four days and we just now got it. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt does seem as though we are hearing of more flooding this year than previous years.
ReplyDeleteCarol, I am so scared for Texas...they have lost so many homes do to flooding. They have had more flooding than ever. Floods scare me. Bless you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWow, those roses are so beautiful. that's what I need to put on mine. I put Miracle Grow on all the other flowers but we're so dry right now we're having to water our flowers and garden. I hate to complain with Texas in the shape they're in and I feel so bad for them. We've had wet summers for a while now and I guess it's time for a drought. It either goes from one extreme to another clear across the country. Hugs and much Love, xo
ReplyDeleteSusie, We have actually had a wee dry spell. The basement isn't wet where the weep hole is. But it rained this afternoon...the sun is back out. I wish those that needed rain could get just enough and those that are flooding..oh they need relief. I pray for them, so scary. Hope you are feeling well and enjoy some time on the porch. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI used rose food on our over a DOZEN rose bushes last month! I need to look them over to see if it helped! I also cut back some of the ones that only bloom once in the spring. Buying them was an accident and we keep digging them up but they seem to spring back from a tiny twig!!
ReplyDeleteLinda, I do not have green thumbs...when it comes to roses, I may be all thumbs. LOL. I do love seeing everyone's flowers. I think most people love flowers, trees and birds. Hope you are feeling better now. Bless your heart, love you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSuch a pretty rose, I have a climbing rose over the arbor, once the hot weather gets here it tends to drop it's blooms rapidly.
ReplyDeleteWe've gone straight to summertime it seems :)
~Jo
Jo, You are so right. I just hope it's not too hot, or to wet, I want perfect....is that too much to ask? LOL. Hope you are enjoying your nice days. Sure beats winter. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThe only roses are get are fresh cut from Trader Joes. I have a few plants on the balcony. In our old home, I had long stemmed yellow roses....how I loved them.
ReplyDeleteWanda, I have never seen long stemmed roses growing...I have only seen them at the florists. My brother Miles and his wife Brenda share a love of yellow roses. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI used to run in sneakers...no more, tho. :(
ReplyDeleteHope your roses do good with the plant food.
BJ, Speaking of sneakers. ..I think they are probably the worse thing ever for our feet. But now it's all I wear. I am sure you remember when shoes had a last in the shoe...to keep our arches from bending. Arches were never meant to bend. I tell my Ted that people have ruined their feet from wearing sneakers. LOL. I am hoping I can revive these roses . LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI hope you got everything done today. Your roses are beautiful. I hope you are having a good evening
ReplyDeleteMissy, I got my running done, saved money with coupons at the drugstore. Even got to visit my daughter before her zumba class. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt's beautiful! I love roses and June is my favorite month. Have a good week sweet friend. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane. I think this rose bush is looking healthier that it did last week. I thought it looked like a sickly goner then. LOL It needed food. who knew...not me. Blessings for a great day tomorrow. xoxo, Susie
DeleteHeat and rain here, too, Susie, and we had a horrific storm blow through yesterday. :(
ReplyDeleteI use a sprinkle on plant food, not sure how organic it is but it simply goes into my potted plants. I think it helps.
Jane
Blondie, I have just about ruined my flowers...either not watering enough or too much. I am hoping our summer is hot, stuffy and humid...this old lady can't stand that kind of heat. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeletePretty rose, Susie. I hope your June turns out to be lovely and calm! Ours is already warmer than usual. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteJenn, I know what you are saying...it's already been humid and 85 a few days. That kind of heat is for August. LOL. Although dear lady, I am hoping it never gets really hot and stifling. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThat is such a lovely colour rose ...
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Jan, My only other rose is a salmon color which is very pretty. It has yet to bloom. I was surprised how many blooms came up on this sad rose bush. I guess it just needed food. Bless you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie I use a pinterest rose spray on my roses which are old but seems to help anyhow. A gal. of water, 1T soda, 1t. dish soap, 1 T vegetable oil and a dissolved aspirin, once a week when it is cool in the morning.
ReplyDeleteThank you Peggy. I truly love to use things I can make right here at home. I had never heard of this , but if it works...it's worth a try. Sure is cheap enough. Hope you are doing well and enjoying some nice day there. Seemed forever for spring to arrive and it went right into summer. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie, thank you for your dear comment. It meant so much to me. In my life right now, there are some things that I'm going through, but I want to always remember that the precious things can't be taken from us no matter what. Your flower pictures are beautiful. You're always in my heart, dear friend.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Sheri, I hope you do find joy each day. A dozen roses can be nice...but then the single rose can be more meaningful. So it's like you said even a small thing can be happiness. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHey girl! That rose is beautiful- love the color! Been in here catching up on your blog. You have been busy and your beds look wonderful! I might just hire you to come work some magic on mine! I am so hoping we get a moderate summer this year. The yard is really growing this week with the warmer nights. The clover is blooming again in it and its so pretty. I skipped through your post of the flowers...I have not been out one time looking at them. Can you believe it? I was afraid to look...we are just so overwhelmed here this year. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteTete, You are the girl with the planting knowledge. I loved your gardens last year and can't wait to see what all you grow this summer. I love when we get free flowers that grow on their own. Remember how early we had the yard cleaned up and never really got to plant a darn thing...too many rabbit at ground level...so my things have to be in containers. LOL> Bless you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI love the crimson color of your rose, Susie! Mine are still in the bud-stage. Your flowers seem to be doing well this year! Good for you, girl!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, sweet friend.
Much love being sent to you.

Hi Debbie, I was amazed at how many roses grew after I gave the bush some food. LOL. I have planting to do this weekend...so I am hoping it doesn't rain the whole time. I was glad to see all your pretty flowers growing. Bless you sweetheart, xoxo, Susie
DeleteBeautiful, Susie...I just got my first rose of the season today!
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to bring some roses inside to enjoy. But after that ant scare...I am going to leave all my flowers outside this year. LOL. Glad your roses are blooming. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteNow that it is getting so hot I need to get some plant food as well. It is forecast to be 117-118 this weekend, so we all need a little extra TLC. Blessings, Cindy xo
ReplyDeleteCindy, Wow, that sounds so hot to me, I do not think I could stand that kind of heat. We will need to water our containers when it's that hot. Gee, we had 7 days of the 80's so far. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteA gorgeous color of rose, Susie. Reminds me of ones grandma used to grow.
ReplyDeleteMildred, When I planted this rose the picture that it was tagged with, did not look like this...this seems an old fashioned tea rose. But I love that it is looking so much better. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
