Hometown Joy .....

Saturday , around noon, driving down our road. You can see the neighbor's corn crop is turning...it all seems to be happening faster now. I guess it is September and in about 10 day will be autumn.
The farm bureau co-op. This is actually at the very edge of the city limits.
People on a tractor trolley. They parked at the high school and caught the trolley to town , for the Pork Festival.  It rained almost the entire day , on and off. But cleared up for late afternoon and evening. Cooler temperatures too.
Ted and I at the D.Q. drive thru. Got an ice cream cone.

This is Saturday's sunset after the rainy day. It was heavenly outside  at this time.
Thought I would post some more of the photos I took at Horton's on Thursday. Isn't this little owl so sweet....he was one of a salt and pepper shaker set.
A basket of velvet pumpkins with real looking stems. One sparkley pumpkin.
I liked this pumpkin covered in sheet music and glitter, with lace and twine...rustic and chic.
This striped container with the sunflowers was cute.
For those of you who do not want a gapped tooth crooked smiling , Jack-o-lantern....this one has braces.  I laughed when I saw him.. I thought of this being a jack-o-lantern a dentist would own.
Hope all of you had a great weekend. I had a slow , take it easy weekend. I guess I needed it too. I actually slept so deep last night, I had dreams. That's rare for me.
Wishing all a great new week. XO

  5. LOL- I love Jack with braces! That is too funny and perfect for some teen/ preteen who has to wear those crazy things. Our towns do look much alike! Plenty of corn and ice cream in both places...LOL.

    1. Tete, That is a great idea ..for a kid with braces themselves to have a jack-o-lantern with braces. I though when I saw your cornfield shots...it looked just like mine. Our little towns are basically farm towns. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Missy, I know what you are saying about the weatherman...but what about the wooly worm tales?? Do you know the saying about the colors. I do not , wish I did, because today I saw three blond colored ones and one black. LOL. I have heard tales of the coloring predicting the type of winter we will have. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  11. Those velvet pumpkins are so pretty. I can't tell which one I like best. And the pumpkin with the braces is a hoot. Having a treat at Dairy Queen with Ted sounds very nice, Susie. I love Dairy Queen too. I always get a chocolate dipped cone. :)
