Thursday ...

This is the sun rise. I do not get as many photos of sun rises as I would like  But at this time of year the sun rises where I can see it.
One more shot of those colors..:):)
This is the hydrangea bush that did not boom this year.
Now what do I see? A tiny little flower head popping out...well it's mid September I will see how big this gets. I am thinking I may transplant this bush. I think it isn't getting enough sunshine.
I dug out the  silver dish I bought last year and filled it with this mixture of"pumpkins"....I do not know what these are really called. They look like pumpkins the size of quarters.

I think this is some kind of sauce thingy...Oh I am so sorry to all of you that I do not know much this morning.:):). I put the pumpkins in it also. Mrs. Horton gave me this bag of tiny pumpkins....she is so kind and sweet.  I just put these with my vignette on the table.
Yesterday, Ted and I met up with some family to have lunch , then go visit with Ted's brother Cliff.  You may recall Cliff is the one who had a stroke about two months ago. The lunch was fun. The visit heart breaking. Cliff seems a bit depressed now, and frets when his wife isn't with him.
He was very excited to see all of us...but cried a few times. His wife was at the repair shop getting their car worked on, and he asked about her many times....but called her by his sisters' names many times. When I would ask, "you mean Linda?" Cliff would say, "Oh I love her. "
This weekend,  I hope to spend time with my daughters and do a  bit of decorating.  Wishing all of you the best. XO

  1. Oh, Susie, that last part about Cliff just breaks my heart, too. I'm so glad you guys are able to go visit Cliff and lift his spirits. I feel for his wife, Linda. She needs lots of support too as this is such a difficult thing to go through.
Your sunrise pics are gorgeous. My views are now changing since we are heading into fall. I have to purposefully go out to check out the sunrise and the neighbor's house blocks it! boo!
    Happy Weekend.

    1. Nonnie, I cry every time I am around Cliff. I know that Linda will be wore out.. I was saying she will need all the help she can get and numerous breaks. I can't get the morning pictures I would like because of the woods down the road. But once in awhile I get a glorious shot. Nonnie, I wish you a great weekend also. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Have a pleasant weekend, my dear.

    1. Sheri, I think these mini pumpkins are some kind of weed pod ...I am not sure. You can add fragrances to them...these have none. I may add cinnamon oil. :):) You can take photos from my blog if you know how...I do not know all that techy stuff. LOL . Blessings for a fun weekend, love, xoxo, Susie

  6. It's heart breaking to see loved ones suffer. But it helps them to have family there to support them. I do believe that. My Summer has a friend just 10 days older than she in a terrible situation. She had a stroke and is in bad shape. She was just transferred to a more long term care place. Life can change in a blink of an eye for all of us. Itry to live every moment to its fullest so if something happens I will have no regrets. I enjoy life as I know it today. Prayers for you and the family as well as Cliff. You all comfort each other....

Sad about Summer's friend. So young. I hope Cliff's faith helps him endure. Glad he is close enough we can visit and help out. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie

  9. Well It is so sad about Cliff. I'm glad he has a caring wife and family. Think how lonely he would be otherwise. I'm hoping to go to Horton's next Saturday. My Shug is having a rough time. I think, and I could be wrong, that the scoop looking thing might be for sugar when you have a tea party. I have one and that's what someone told me but I never looked it up. Also, don't give the hydrangeas too much sun. They like shade with a bit of sunshine and lots of water. We planted some this year and they might get an hour or two of sun and they are still blooming like crazy.

    1. Cindy, I ask Cliff if he watched TV...he said no..I don't know if they even own a TV. I think he likes to listen church music...which is good for him right now...to keep him in touch with his faith. I hope your Suge gets better soon. I am going to cut that hydrangea back later and see if it does well next year. Most of my gardening is on my own by trial and error. LOL. I try to read those little tags on the plants when you get them. Blessing, hope to see you Saturday. xoxo, Susie

  10. Great sunrise pics! How early do you get up? I have to laugh at myself---I haven't seen a sunrise in a loooooong time!

It makes me sad to hear about Cliff and his confusion. Life has so many surprising twists and turns, we really have to enjoy the good moments while we can.

    Have a good weekend, Susie!

  11. Love all the little pumpkins. So sad and heart breaking I am sure to hear Cliff react to your conversations like he does. Strokes are so hard to recover from. Spending the time and enjoying time with him is the best medicine.

  12. Susie, your sunset photos are always breathtaking! Thanks for reminding me, I have a jar filled with those mini pumpkins in a cupboard in my laundry room. :0 Guess I ought to pull them out. I also have a silver dish like that. I was told it is a spooner. So sorry about your friend. It's difficult to watch those we love go through things like that!
