Kids & Pets. Are Heart Breakers....

Look at Max , since he has learned to walk, he now plays basketball.  He's been sick this week. So hard to see babies sick.
He fell asleep on his mommy, running a fever too. Lynzie said as soon as he heard the music to Jeopardy he sits up and does his wiggle dance. Oh sweet babies, they can break your heart.

Here's Max playing with the ABC doggie that we got him for Christmas.  His mom says he loves it. I hope so

This is Layla and Max getting ready for Christmas at aunt Karen's house. She's wearing a princess like dress and her fur shrug. She loves dressing in frills. :):)
This is Layla asleep in the car , on her way home from her grandmother's (Gigi Liz) Good old boy Sam is lying next to her . He's so good with the little ones.
Speaking of Sam,  here with his new toy, looking sad....he is going to have a surgery tomorrow.
Matt found a tumor in Sam mouth .Now Sam will have 3 teeth pulled and the bone scraped of the tumor. There will be a biopsy. Please say a little pray if your heart allows for our old Sam. This is going to be a costly ordeal. But what does one do , when they love the pet like family. This is why I say pets and babies can break your heart. When  they are sick, they can not tell us where they hurt or how they feel.  But them being sick hurts us.
Today we have had that fine snow, all day long.  It 's  white on the ground about an inch and a half of snow.  Stay safe and warm. XO

  1. Oh, poor sweet Sam. My old girl has tumors many places, and has had for years. They are getting bigger, but don't seem to be bothering her so the vet said we should leave them alone. She's 14, I'm not going to put her through anything at this point, my poor old girl. xo

    1. It is rough to own pets...You fall in love with them and absolutely have to care for them, otherwise it would be cruel. My daughter's budget will have to be built back up after the surgery. I am praying it's the cure for Sam. He's a loving big olf of a dog. I hope you dogs will do okay. One of my daughter's has two little dogs and they are short legged and have trouble getting on chairs at times. :) Blessings, stay warm there in the mountains. xoxo, Susie

  2. Saying a prayer for Sam and healing, Susie. So sorry to hear Max has been sick this week. He is such a cutie. And Yes, keep him playing basketball. I have a long line of basketball players in my family - such a talented sport. Layla's fur shrug is darling.

Bundle up and keep warm on these cold January days. I'd love to see your glorious snow, Susie!

  4. Oh Susie about Sam. I am saying a prayer that the surgery will go well and the tumor is benign. It is so hard when they cannot tell us what hurts. Hoping for the best for Sam. Look even with Cooper being dx'd with a devastating Cancer he is doing well. So you just have to give them love and stay hopeful. Hope you are bundling up with this cold spell. We just have to make it through the week end and then it is going to warm up again. 40 on Tuesday for us. It will feel like a heat wave. Have a great evening. I am keeping good thoughts and saying a prayer for Sam. Hugs from Cooper to Sam.
    xoxo

    1. Kris, I knew what with everything Cooper has gone thru you would know what I meant about pets. It's the same for pets and babies...we can't bear for them to suffer in any way. Max saw his dr. today and he is better. It's been very cold here. Ted has had the fireplace going all day. It's warm in our house when it's burning...some times too warm. Thanks for the prayers Kris. Blessings to you too, xoxo, Susie

  6. Saying a little prayer for healing all the way around. I don't like to see the little ones be sick and not pets either. It does tug hard on the heartstrings. That sifted snow is slippery stuff.

Now as for little Max ball player...he saw his dr. today and is better. I just feel sad, thinking of babies and pets hurting . Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  9. Poor little Max. It sure does hurt when our little ones are sick, doesn't it? I love Layla's little fur jacket. They are both cuties.

I understand about poor Sam too. I did whatever I could for our cats, each one. And since Snowy died I miss her more than I can say. I hope Sam makes it through OK and has many more years with the family.

  12. That little grandson is a cutie, Susie. All of the little ones in our family have the sniffles as well. Sadly, many of us adults have the colds now, too, and we seem to get them worse. Why do kids continue to play and we drag ourselves around craving sleep?

Sending prayers for Max. Please remember Milo had that huge tumor removed from his hip almost 2 years ago and he's been fine. He was 11 years old and now 13 and going strong. Love to you and your family...it's very worrisome.

    1. Blondie, I thought maybe baby Max got his cold from day care...but now I think his father may have brought it home. He has been sick also. Sam the dog is having his surgery today (Friday). Liz is to keep us posted. Sam's tumor was in his jaw and he will lose 3 teeth and have that bone scraped. It seems to have grown fast when Matt found it. I just hate when babies, kids and pets and are sick. I feel so helpless. Bless you for the good words. xoxo, Susie

  14. Hi Susie,

Such sweet pictures. There is a flu like cold thing going around and it seems to be hitting everyone. I think my Shug has it. He woke up and said he wasn't feeling well and went back to bed. It's 9:30 am and he's still in bed. I hate it when little ones and furry ones get sick. I hope they are both on the mend very soon.

    1. Thank you Cindy. Yes there does seem to be something nasty spreading around. I know schools, work and especially hospitals are germ sources. It hurt us parents and grandparents for babies to suffer. As for pets...I feel so helpless. Sam is having surgery today. (Friday) Cindy, you know I come from a big family...I always pray for all of us to be healthy. Now here with all this going on, my big brother is hospitalized down south awaiting heart surgery. Thanks for any prayers . Blessings for the Shug man, to get better. xoxo, Susie

  16. I agree Susie, they both can break your heart. I hate to see babies sick. You can just tell it in their eyes. They don't sparkle like they normally do. Max and Layla are simply precious little ones! I pray that Sams surgery goes well! You do get so attached to your pets, don't you?
    hugs,
