This small building is in our city park. It's the restrooms. Men's side, left and women's side on the right..
It's been around a long time. Made from cobble stones. I love the look of it. There's talk of tearing it down and possibly making a new building. In the mean time there two big port-y-pots and a wash station set up in the park.. Now that's a look I'd soon forget. LOL
We had some pop up showers come through....they never left much rain . It's not these clouds, I was just fascinated by these.
You could see them for miles out here in the country.
I love this blue color . I can see autumn coming in a bit here and there.
The corn is starting to turn at the bottom. Even the bean fields are yellowing. Our Pork Fest will be setting up this week, in town. That is truly the end of summer. Once the big tents start being put up , you will have a hard time getting around town. This has been a repair summer in our town. Lots of road work and all new wheel chair assessable corners. New gas pipe lines .
I will post some pictures of the pork festival later this coming week. Wishing all of you a nice blissful weekend. XO
Happy Week End to you Susie. Enjoy the Pork Fest. It is hard to believe we are moving towards fall and summer is leaving us already. Love the beautiful clouds. So serene and gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHappy Labor Day.
Kris
Kris, When my mom was living , we went to the fest on Thursdays for lunch and just walking thru. Then on Fridays my daughter meets me and we have lunch and book shop.. Things have changed... I usually go thru once , don't buy books cause the library stays closed thru the fest. I love looking at the big sky and enjoying the moment./ Blessings, xoxo,Susie
Deletehave a wonderful weekend, thanks for sharing the beautiful photos, such a big sky!
ReplyDeleteI'm catching up reading past posts, lol, gosh so much happens in a short time, doesn't it,
Laurie, If I miss blogging a few days...I start to feel left out of the fun. I will be typing up a storm to catch up. LOL. Hope you, Garry and your family are doing well. It's Labor Day weekend here in the U.S. We celebrate working by not working for a few days. LOL. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteFll is definitely in the ir.....I enjoy fll, but dislike the winter that follows. Clouds, sunrises, and sunsets re so fascinating....but I don't see much of them because I live in town, small town.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I wish you lived closer...we could think of some thing fun to do. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHi Susie, Fall is my favorite time of the year. We always took drives to see the fall color. Our summer from June was so wet this year. It was hard to have any outside events. I always enjoy reading and seeing what you are doing. It is really going to be hot today. Take care. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend Shirley.
ReplyDeleteShirley, I think we had such crazy weather it was hard to totally enjoy our spring and summer...I am praying Fall will be so much nicer. I am sorry you and your sweetheart can ride around any more....hugs for you both. I am tired of our 90 degree days. Bless your heat , xoxo,Susie
DeleteI love that cobblestone bathroom. Depending on how the interior looks, I think I'd be saddened to see it destroyed. We're seeing some signs of fall here too;( Just came too soon!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
Gert, The inside of the old building is sad...but it could have be revamped. I saw a corn field a mile over and it was already dried up. Looks almost ready to pick. I think it's Pioneer's crops. Blessings , xoxo,Susie
DeletePork festival, huh? Sounds like fun. Hope you get to go at least a little bit. It would be a shame to tear down that cute building. They should just refurbish it. They're always doing that on TV aren't they?
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to believe that fall is coming. I am looking forward to the great harvest and beautiful colors, but not the cold weather.
Kathy, There will be plenty of thick pork chops in the pork tents where meals are served. We like to go by the Lion's Club tent and have pork on a stick. I wish our park board would have voted to revamp the old building, not tear it down...so sad. Kathy, I wish some things could stay the same. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI can only imagine all the tasty food that will be available ~ sounds great! Don't you love to watch the clouds and see all the different shapes? I hope you have a fun and blessed weekend!
ReplyDeletexo
Pat
Pat, There will be plenty of pork chops, tenderloins and pork burgers. Some nice craft booths, and art show, places to sign up for drawings...or calling from that company. LOL. Hope you have a good weekend too. The weather is hot here. Bless you, xoxo,Susie
DeletePork festival - how fun! I know some people don't like pork, but I love it. It's soft and tasty. Yes, show us some pictures when you go, Susie. The cobble stone building is very nice. Too bad they may be tearing it down. Your cloud pictures are beautiful. And rain? I can't wait for it to rain this year, as it is needed so much in California.
ReplyDeleteHave a pleasant weekend.
love, ~Sheri
Sheri, Ted and I eat lots of pork and chicken...rarely red meat. We will get a pork chop on a stick at the Lion's Club tent. I love that old restroom building and truly wish it could be restored...not torn down...so wasteful. We need rain now and this is after a spring and early summer of nothing but rain. LOL. Blessings to you, love, Susie
DeleteI hate it when landmarks are torn down. I can tell that fall is on the way by looking at the country side around here and then I wonder if it's not the lack of rain. I hope you have a wonderful Labor Day. Enjoy.

ReplyDeleteBonnie, I do understand when some things just need to come down...but then when something is unique there should be more effort to keep it...do some revamping. We truly could be kind of brown from lack of rain. :):) Today has been pleasant here. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI enjoy your posts about your town! So they are tearing that 'little brown house' down and will make bigger betty potties!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny the festivals towns have. You have your pork festival, we are thinking of going to a sorghum festival tomorrow!! As in molasses!!
Linda, I saw those porty pots and thought OMG...so nasty. LOL. This is pork country and corn...My brother's town used to have Corn School...that was the name of their festival. Once my sisters and I all went there to join our brother and found out the only good looking man in town was our brother. LOL. We have laughed about that for years. Molasses would be good with our pork. LOL. I have to tell you the Bob Evans molasses joke one day. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteGood looking building .. I hope they keep the same tight. Pretty clouds even if they didn't bring you any rain. We have a pig roast in October. Have a nice Labor Day.
ReplyDeleteMissy, I loved seeing your down pour pictures. You take the best pictures. I love seeing the clouds build up that high out here. I had a good day today. Not much going on...just household chores. I loved all your nice produce you picked up at your farmer's market.. Nice stuff. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhat a charming old stone building. That's too bad that the town is thinking of tearing it down.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs, Noreen
Norren, I just love that old cobble stone building... it's needing some up date inside. But outside is still good. I wish they would just redo it. I am doing well this weekend so far. LOL. Going to go see Skylar tomorrow. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteYes fall was in the air today, but it's going back to summer weather and hopefully that will continue through next week.
ReplyDeleteThat cobblestone building looks familiar as we have them as well around here. There are still cobblestone streets in Boston.
Boston Boy, I hope you have lots of good weather for your vacation. We need some rain now....after all that rain in spring and early summer, it's dry here . I remember one year, many years ago, our mayor was on television bragging about our brick streets....the next year they paved over them. Go figure. I love cobblestone roads and brick streets. Bless you , xoxo,Susie
DeleteHappy holiday weekend, Susie! I am surprised that the wonderful stone building isn't on a national historic register list.
ReplyDeleteI wish that I was not allergic to pork. : (
~Lynne
w/L
Lynne, I wonder about our National Historical Society around here. The an old one room school house down the road...that needs to be saved. An old fellow lived there till two summers ago , he passed away...no sure owns it now. I am not a big meat eater, but once in a while I'll have a pork chop...or chicken. Any more, I have a problems even standing the smells of some foods cooking. I would be in a bad shape if I ever had to butcher something myself....I'd probably starve. Going with my sisters today, to see my grandson Skylar. Blessings to you, Hugs to your mom, xoxo,Susie
DeleteThanks for sharing. I wish we had fall here. It will still be hot and humid for at least two more months. I guess that is what we get in exchange for no snow. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteJapolina, I always pray for you whenever I hear of hurricanes and tropical storms headed your way. I hope it's cool down here soon...it's coming for this weekend. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteIt's a shame to lose some of those great old buildings, Susie. I'd like to not see port-a-potties either (unless I need one)-lol
ReplyDeleteFall will be upon us before we know it- xo Diana
Diane, I have always wondered if everything was done to salvage an older building. They are part of our local history. No everything has to be ultra modern. LOL. Just since I made this post the things are really getting brown from lack of rain. Like our lawn. :) Blessings to you, love, susie
DeleteHi,Susie, fall is nipping at us here on the Plains of West Texas, too. Still hot during the day, tho.
ReplyDeleteOh, I already know what color to paint my room...with the tall ceilings, we can't do it ourselves (bummer) so we have to build up the old nest egg a little before we can hire a pro.....:)
BJ, I think some of our fall is from lack of rain...this after a spring and summer of also standing water. Yes, my daughter asked me about helping to paint Emma bedroom again and I said I would help...but I can not do it all myself any more. It' s the climbing ladders that kills my feet. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHi Susie :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Fall is coming. We've finally been having some great weather here after a scorcher of a summer.
Nothing makes me sadder than to here about an old building being torn down. Even if it's a potty lol
Thank you for your visit and sweet comment. I see we have a few friends in common ;)
rue
Hi Rue, I love to see places save their old buildings. They are history to me. ..even a restroom in the park. LOL. I think after so many days in the 90's it ready to cool down here. I am ready to open the windows and turn off the AC. :):) Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteHear not here LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Rue, I do this all the time....some times I click , then go back and read ...too late...it looks like I don't even know the King's English. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by!! My son, whose room the Guest Room once was, always tells me it is for the daughter that I never had!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful building and it would be a shame if they ripped it down to build a new one...
Hugs,
Deb
