Rainy Day At The Festival.....

I met my daughter at her house. We waited a good long time thinking the rain would let up. It finally did ...but only a bit. Lizzy came over to join us.
We are in the food tent waiting , again. The rains kept the crowds away.  There were very few people in town when we arrived.  The ones in charge of the fest must be getting their tents from another company. I remember when  the tents were plenty wide enough for to sets of table and an aisle way. Plus they had sides to pull down when it rained. The rain was blowing in yesterday.
Will you look at my Angie squinting to see her phone...why don't people use their glasses? I have given my sister Jeanie about 10 pairs of reading glasses and when she's  out and about...she never has a pair with her.
This was what Angie and I chose to eat , b-b-q sandwiches.  Nothing more.  You had to eat it with a fork.

Yes, I used my big NYC umbrella , yesterday. It was fitting as a remembrance to 9-11 . Thank you to all who commented yesterday.  I watched some of the things that were shown on television  in the evening. I could not help but cry for those that were killed and those left behind to mourn.

Celebrating Korey and Ashley's wedding anniversary today. It's been one year.  Happy Anniversary kids.  They are going to NYC and then on to Italy to celebrate. What a wonderful young couple . I am extremely proud of them . I always pray they will hold on to their sweet love.
Wishing all of you a great day. XO

  1. Hi Susie....Good for you and the girls...sticking out the rain for the festival! What a truly fitting umbrella commemorating 9/ll. We watched all of the shows in remembrance of the day too. So sad for everyone. Happy Anniversary to the happy couple! Sounds like a wonderful trip for them!

    1. Debbie, It is fun to be with our daughters. Seems we can never have enough of those kinds of days. Watching the remembrance shows was painful. Blessings, love, Susie

    1. BJ, I have the best times when I am with my daughters. When I was raising them, I never dreamed they would be my dearest friends when they were grown. :):) They are. I like pork b-b-q. I just don't have it often. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  4. It sounds like you had a fun day at the festival, Susie! Those barbecue sandwiches look so good that I want one. Love your NYC umbrella. It is my wish to someday visit there with the girls. This is a cute picture of you and your daughter. Happy Anniversary to the lovely couple.

    1. Sheri, Hope you get better pictures at your festival. Today is cooler and the big parade for the festival is going on right now in Tipton. My girls and I used to gather on our friends sidewalk and watch it go by. Some times fun and some times almost too hot. I always had a ablanket to sit on and straws for the sodas...so kids didn't suck a bee down their throats. LOL. Enjoy yourself today. Bless you, love, susie

  5. Unfortunately rain does put a damper on outdoor activities. How lucky they are to celebrate their anniversary in Italy! We always want our children to be blessed in their marriages.

    1. Linda, You are right...I have prayed harder for my children and my grands than I ever have for myself. LOL. I would love for their marriages to be the perfect one and last forever. I always tell them to work at it...marriage isn't all a breeze. But if they could stay best friends it will be easier. Bless you, xoxo.Susie

  6. AT least you didn't have to fight the crowds with the rain!! I LOVE rain and go right on in spite of it just as you and your daughter do! No rain here, though! We are still above average from all that we had back in the spring. Still - we are DRY! It rained here at home while we were in the country so nothing died while we were gone. Is your pretty Angie the school teacher? I know you had fun being together no matter WHAT the weather was like! Amber invited me to sit with her at a craft fair coming on October. She will have a booth featuring her hand crafted jewelry. Last time she had one was when she was early pregnant with the quads. That's a memory I still hold dear!

    1. I never mind getting wet unless I am wearing nice shoes. LOL. Funny the way this rain has waited till our festival. But the ground just soaked it right up. Boy did we need it. Yes, Angie is my oldest daughter and she is the school teacher....she takes that Friday off for us to be together. I so appreciate it too. She actually take her class thru the fest on Thursday. They go to the post office, jail and police dept...to see how it all works...then thru the fest and over to the pizza place for lunch. Hope you and Amber enjoy the fair again this year. love you, Susie

  7. The rain seems to find a way to festivals. Our son as a hobby and side job makes old fashioned wooden rubber band guns like Grandpa use to make. His business is called the OldTimer. His last craft fair it poured...but kids didn't care, his booth was busy all day with the kids shooting the rubber band guns at soda cans. He had a very profitable day in spite of the rain.

    1. Wanda, I am glad your son still had a profitable day. The saddest thing I saw yesterday was a young fellow carrying his lunch plate and it was raining on his lunch. I just wanted to cry seeing that. Don't know why he never ask for a plastic bag to cover it. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
